Move -> Android Forum
@Mods: please stop moving my threads around (another one has been moved, too), I create them in the Android forum on purpose so the people see it. There are loads of questions asked about SD cards and theres no need for people to create a new thread for one every time
cheers
why move to Accessories - -
why not in android development
In speed of card have effect to smoot of android system?
QPI microSD 4gb, class 6 - works like a charm
Any official announcements about 128GB microSDXC card availability timeframes?
Meanwhile, would one of these approaches work?
A. Small microUSB card reader hooked up to i717, with a standard-size 128GB SDXC card.
B. Small battery-powered card reader (does such thing exist?) with a standard-size 128GB SDXC card, connected to i717 over Bluetooth.
Has anyone used such a contraption? What does it do to battery life?
Thanks
P.S. Currently, in addition to the Note, I have to carry around a bulky Archos 5 IT 500GB : (
Found this:

What about the Seagate WiFi hard disk,500GB its a bit expensive around $200
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Thanks - that's about the same size/weight as my Archos, though.
And I'd like to replace it with something much more compact that doesn't have spinning media: microSDXC (too small), SDXC, Flash or SSD, in order of preference...

Plus this: http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Backup-...&ie=UTF8&qid=1346774393&sr=1-1&keywords=128GB
it'll get you to 128GB, it's flash and it's small.
Man, I hope this means they are offloading their stock to make their way for Class 20, or 128GB.

Has anyone recorded 4K video from the G3 onto a uSD card? I'd like to get a 128GB card for mine, but the only ones out there at the moment are pretty slow. Even the UHS-1 Sandisk looks like its only ~14-16MB/s. Any idea how this compares to the system storage?
Using A1 SD Bench, I calculated the following write speed in my G3 (D855, 3/32GB):
-> Internal storage: 67.50MB/s
-> UHS1 64GB SD Card (Sandisk Extreme Plus): 27.35MB/s
I suggest you test it for yourself

Thanks! Mine is on pre-order, and I was looking to get a card so I'd have it when the phone arrived. even 15MBps should be sufficient since most phone 4k seems to be in the 6MBps (50 Mbps) range, but I'd hate to get the bigger card and then find out that it's hobbled.
Hello.
I 've been reading a lot of (bad) stories with micro sd incompatibilities.
Since i want to use mine as internal storage, i want to be certain that it will work
I am between samsung (the new red pro ones,20mb/sec) and the new toshiba excesior ones (30mb/sec write, 2016 model).
Anyone had any luck with these?
Should they be ntfs formatted when inserted in the tablet?
Thanks in advance.
Hi vadergr,
i tested some different sd cards twoe 64 gb class 10 cards (samsung and lexar), they are verry slow for me. So i decided to buy a sandisk microSD extreme Pro with 64 gb but hab no luck with it, because the card was dead on arrival. So i went to my tech store and by a 128gb Sandisk Ultra, an now i'm fine with it. Fast reading speed (44mb/s) and solid write speed (23mb/s). All in all its ok and the tablet runs verry well with it. I run on Android 7 nougat and use the SD as internal storage.
128gb Sandisk Ultra

I used Memento EXpert 128GB from memorette. I tested it out on PC, make a full read/ write to make sure it has got full capacity and then insert into the tablet. One interesting thing is the tablet recognized the card as Lexar Media (which is quite reputable). I formatted it as the internal storage.
So far, apart from heating up during game-plays, it is quite stable.

I had issues with mine set up as internal storage after i went past 128GB of data on it. went back to my Samsung 128GB Pro microSDXC and worked like a champ. the 256 works well as external storage. I did notice longer boot times with the more data i added to the micro sd card. i opted to stay away from internal storage for now.
