Hello XDA followers and developers,
I have an xperia neo v and when i rooted it for the first time i installed the uhd rom with the option of locked bootloader in the aroma installer. After that i tried to unlock my bootloader in order to change the kernel and install a gingerbread rom. (i started woth ICS 4.0.4-> UHD) I saw that bootloader unlock was allowed but i couldn't unlock it :/. I tied many different tutorials and with the last the only thing i got was a soft bricked neo v. Sad after that i asked my father for some help because he warned me... We flashed the .tft with flash tool and then i had a "brand new" Neo V. After rooting again i tried to install another ICS based rom and in the aroma i chose again the locked bootloader. After the install finished i rebooted and again my neo v soft bricked. Restoring again and after 2 months using the official ICS I tried to install the UHD again. Soft bricked again... Tried to restore with flash tools but nothing. The whole thing was messed up and i was angry with my self. Then i tried to restore with the Sony Pc companion and with a little bit luck i restored it. Now i am rooted again. I tried to run the pre-installed Track id app but i got a message saying [4] Try again later. I remembered that when you unlock bootloader you lose the abillity to use DRM keys including track id (if i am correct). Now i am thinking is my bootloader unlocked or not? The soft brick i get after rom installation with locked bootloader option is a result of the unlocked bootloader? I also uninstalled some system apps that i thought they were useless like the original music app (i installed a modded version of WALKMAN by ThilinaC), chinese keyboard ant+, facebook and browser i think. In the configuration menu i see that bootloader unlock is allowed. Feel free to telll me if i must give credits to the Roms i wrote.
Thank's in advance,
Aris.

The USB connector on my phone broke a few months ago and since then I purchased a charger for the battery itself. Today I tried flashing a ICS rom and kernel(via recovery) and now I can't get it to fully boot. I can't seem to access recovery either and I have no way of connecting it via USB. Is there any way I can make my phone flash from an image on the SD card so it's usable?
Info:
Factory Unlocked SK17i
Clockwork recovery
It was rooted
I have a nandroid backup of the firmware.
The bootloader isn't unlocked.
Kernel needs to be installed also via fastboot, Recovery can't install kernels. Also kernel installation requires unlocked bootloader.
Install stock ROM back.

xperia mini pro
hy.
My problem is that I bought a mini pro. I liked it, nfs shift it ran without any problems, do not faltered. Then I let the Sony Ericsson to upgrade the software.
here the trouble begins.
slowed down the telephone, 3d display out of order.
I can root the device but unlock botloader allowed: no
so my guess there is no way, could be restored, which would be a good firmware.
someone could help me? I would appreciate it.

Doesn't matter what you do, kernels cannot be installed via Recovery. Not at all on Androids.
I would like to see one thread confirming that kernels can be installed via Recovery.

There is no 3D display on Mini Pro...
You can root indeed, make backup of the ROM and throw out some garbage from the phone. Stock phones have always quite a lot unneeded stuff.
I removed about 100 apps with Titanium Backup from my stock LWW firmware.
Hello fellows,
I decided recently to root my Xperia X10i device, and ditch the sonyericsson gingerbread official rom. I installed Flashtool, and rooted my phone successfully. However when I chose to Flash either a custom Kernel, or "X10-custom-ftf" I keep getting this weird message ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed". This happened yesterday and today. Yesterday my phone was stuck at the text Sony Ericsson, and I managed to re-install the original firmware again using SEUS. Today I am following the steps in this guide to install FreeXperia custom rom but I am always stuck when I get into "Flash" step with this silly message!
I searched a lot for the reason of this message but with no clue!! Is there any clue for the reason of this message, and how can I overcome it? I would really appreciate your responses. Thanks

77 viewed my post and no one replied!! Is the problem this hard?!
You need to be patient my friend, sometimes they looking solutions for ya. And I want to ask, did you installed recovery before flashing? If yes, what kinda flashtool version you used? Your question is similar and less to be encountered honestly, not with azuzu and doomlord's flashtool.
IMPORTANT: MOSTLY THAT HAPPENED IF YOU accidentally/forgot that you FLASHED KERNEL (For UNLOCKED Bootloader) on your X10 WHICH IS LOCKED BOOTLOADER. KERNEL WILL FAILED TO OPERATE NORMALLY if you just flash custom kernels if forgot to unlock bootloader. Hope helps.
PS:Try download these [2.3.3 Kernel + Baseband Here] Flash it and see whether it's successfully flashed. If yes, should back to SE LOGO and don't waste time, repeat-press "Back" button, to return to Xrecovery and flash your Locked Bootloaded Custom ROM/Backup ROM Nandroid via xrecovery. Should have boot normally.

After rooting your x10 did you unlock your bootloader? If not then thats why it wont flash there are guides on here ti help you unlock the bootloader and be able to flash custom kernels

Recently I soft bricked my Arc S.
It was Rooted and Bootloader unlocked. Running well so I got bored and tried to load a custom rom. Failed!:crying:
Not worried tried to reflash. Failed!:crying:
Sent it off to an IT store they were able to get it up and running. On 4.1.b.0.431. Great! :fingers-crossed:
BUT now no matter what rooting tool or method I try I can’t root it. Bootloader says unlocked.
Tried Doomlords toolkit
And 3 others ways.... nothing
Should I try lock the Bootloader again?
Or
Reflash the whole phone again?? (which I am no good at hence the whole problem)
Any advice would be most appreciated
Thank you
Don

Can someone direct me to a step by step tutorial on how to root my Xperia X.
Thanks!
Just unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernel. To unlock just use google and it will take you to sony's unlocking webpage with all the instructions you need, then use a kernel found in this very forum.

Did you find it? If yes, how did you root? Please I need help I am very confused..
Here you can find unofficial twrp for xperia x:
http://www.infectedbuilds.net/downloads/suzu/twrp/
Install with fastboot command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
After flashing this twrp you probably cant access data partion in twrp, to fix this boot into twrp(shut down device and turn it on again holding volume down), do a factory whipe and format data partition.
If you want to root flash latest SuperSU: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
If you want a modded kernel with DM-verity, RIC off, DRM fix, SuperSU & Busybox download this tool and follow instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...oot-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
Doesn't unlocking the bootloader degrade the quality of the camera? I am sure it does but just wanted to be sure. If I do decide to unlock, how can I get similar camera functionality back? I may even simply leave it alone, I just want to get rid of the Facebook app. If there was a generic FTF I could download for the F5121, that might not have that app in it. I remember when I had an Xperia Z, I used a generic FTF and didn't have so much bloatware. I also did not have to unlock the bootloader. All it has to be is for the same phone really and it worked for me.
What works for me might not work for you so try at your own risk.

Official updates need the original recovery installed on the phone. ( If TWRP is installed it will fail with an error )
You also need a valid DRM (or a DRM fix) that the Sony update tool will notify you about new firmware updates.
That's what I can tell you from my experiences.
Backup your DRM partition if you decide to unlock your phone!
And don't try to relock the phone as the camera won't work on a locked phone without DRM key. (at least it was like this in my case)
I've updated to 311 using lubik1's rom image without any issues today. It has everything included. (root,drm,etc..)

Hello guys,
Im trying to flash my Xperia 1 device to get the Android 10 update.
I tried to use Flashtool to do it but it's not working, when I select the ROM downloaded using Xperia Firm, I've rebooted to Flash mode successfully, i've got a lot of log lines, then Im stucked at this point :
INFO - Device connected in flash mode
I've also unlocked the bootloader successfully, but this didn't help.
Could you please help ?
Solved by using this tutorial and New Flasher, working great !
You shouldn't have unlocked the bootloader, that wasn't necessary. Use Newflasher to flash, not Flashtool. I'm not certain the FSC script for Flashtool has been updated yet to support Xperia 1
Jesus Christ...
Why do people keep thinking that you need to unlock the bootloader to simply upgrade the phone?
I'm shocked! And it's not the first one I read!
Now your warranty and DRM keys are gone.
I'm really sorry.
