So, have you enabled 4ext smartflash on recovery? There are many roms that can be flashed on 1.53hboot. YAS, mwakious3d, Cool ICS and every ics rom based on stock ics sense. In order to flash theese roms you have to enable smartflash or unzip the boot.img and flash it on fastboot.

If the phone won't boot, go on fastboot and flash the boot.img from the corresponding rom through fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
PS: The phone will double-reboot after the installation of boot.img from 4ext. So let it reboot and see after some time if it boots. If not flash the boot.img as described above.
If you're using the newest version of 4ext touch you're able to enable smartflash in advanced settings.
After that I recommend you to install stock rooted ICS. From this base you can easily s-off your device using Juopunutbear.

You can flash Cool ICS rom which is working on hboot 1.53 and don't need s-off,just simply flash the zip file and reboot your phone good luck

ummm, why? pointless.........
just flash a recovery via fastboot search for the guide on how to do it. your problem is then fixed.
yeah tryied fastbooting and it said it was copied over but same issue
and as for rom manager you need superuser to do that so no it wont work
Install it from the market. You may need to install busybox too. Should work

My device was not s-off. This could be a problem? I read something about flashing the boot.IMG file from the rom's zip file. Could you enlight my way. After I messed up my phone when got lost my hope to recover I used ruu shooter to get back.

Ill be glad to help you with this. With being s-on and unlocked you have access to the nand memory, recovery and system partitions but no access to boot partition which is where your kernel sits at. There's a few ways to work around this. You could download 4ext updater from google play and flash 4ext recovery onto your phone. Upon flashing is finished in the app it will ask you if your device is s-on. click yes and it will enable smartflash. This is a feature that will allow you to flash kernels through recovery means. You can turn this feature on in off in the recovery itself. You could pay a dollar and buy Flash Gui Image which is another great app for s-on users that will allow you to flash kernels and recoveries through the app itself. Of course there's a quick and easy way to gain s-off using ramjets guide. Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889438 Now this is for cdma users only (sprint and virgin mobile) However if you are gsm heres the guide for that as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466 Follow method c if your hboot is 1.49 and method d if it is 1.53 The choice is yours sir. Goodluck

You need to flash boot image. Here are the steps
1)enter recovery on phone, claer, delvik, clear battery stats, format everything but sd card
2) copy BOOT.IMG from what ever rom you are trying to flash (move to a folder on your c drive)
3) then set phone for fastboot usb
4) then open cmd on your computer open comand folder
5) use this comand next fastboot flash boot boot.img
6)then your boot img will flash and will take about 11 seconds or so
7) next open recovery on phone
8)clear delvik again and battery stats
9) install rom
10) clear delvik again then reboot, all should work
I do suggest going s-off it is really easy and eliminates alot of these steps.
Dont forget to hit the thanks button if this helps!!

If you read my post it already stated the easier options to flashing kernels ( purely his preference of method) I just laid out easier options for him than rather jumping through hoops to flash kernels. I also gave him links to where he can gain s-off ( again his choice if he wants to or not). It just seems redundant to restate basically what I just said. Not trying to be a douche at all.
With you on that, don't think your douche! Lol,sometimes putting the steps in outline forms helps noobs. I know when I first started to root my 3D and load roms,it took me a while to understand it. But hopefully we both were able to help.

With all the options laid out for him he should be fine thanks to both our insights.:highfive:
So I recently tried installing MidnightRom Jellybean on my EVO but got stuck on the Beats audio Logo Screen. I cant do anything except go to CWM v5.8.0.1 Recovery Menu and HBOOT Screen... Later figured out MNJB Doesn't work on 1.58 HBOOT
So I need to return it back to stock or something?
The RUU Program doesnt launch on my computer and i have drivers installed

you should always make a nandroid backup of your current rom before flashing a new one so you can return if anything goes wrong. right now there are a couple of choices you can make. you can either flash a rom which works with your hboot or you can RUU back to stock.
If you want to run an RUU then you need to relock your bootloader first. boot into fastboot and type "fastboot oem lock" in cmd. then run RUU.
if you wish to install a different rom then first of all change your recovery to 4ext
extract zip file and flash recovery.img like you flashed cwm recovery. then boot into recovery and turn on smartflash in options (this is important as you are s-on. this will flash boot.img for you)
after that wipe everything except sdcard and flash a sense based rom
I don't think you can run ruu. 1.58 hboot is from the latest update, and afaik the ruu will only work on phones that did not take that update, unless you were s off.
You need to flash a stock Rom such as harmonia.
You may need to flash boot.IMG through fastboot to get out of bootloop.
And yes, you should definitely install 4ext recovery, and make sure smartflash is enabled

i tried flashing recovery...
i tried flashing recovery but cwm stayed it wont change
Make sure the 4ext recovery.IMG is the only recovery.IMG in your SDK tools folder.
Other than that, I can't help

I didn't S-OFF, 1.58 HBOOT. I've tried more that one rom. but can NOT get it to boot, Do I need to S-OFF and Reflash?
I messed up and Can not install 4EXT due to it not booting.
I have the HTCdev unlock
Can you get to recovery?
Flash a sense ICS ROM
Then you may need to flash the boot.img through fastboot
Then go get s off

Don't worry, if you want you can flash the 4ext image recovery from pc.
Go in fastboot mode, toggle it to pc, open the cmd/shell and flash the recovery with this command:
fastboot flash recovery 4EXTTouch.img
Remember to enable the smartflash option in "tools" section inside the recovery before to install a rom.
After this, you can install a Sense based rom.
I don't know AOSP rom that boot with smartflash feature, so if you know just install it.
If you have some problems with any step, ask :good:
Hi guys. I have a really weird problem especially cause I have successfully done ruu.exe many times without any problems. But now my evo won't boot even after ruu.exe finished succeffully, have tried multiple times. Just to mention that months before I did this ruu, I've installed a custom kernel "MiRaGe" and everything was good, till a couple days ago when I tried to boot into 4ext recovery and it didn't boot at all, tried 3-4 times, no luck, but the rom was working fine. (I haven't tried to boot to 4ext since installing a custom kernel) Now I relocked my phone to install ruu.exe, it finished successfully, but can't boot now. I have also unlocked bootloader again and have flashed recovery and still couldn't boot to recovery. Then I relocked and did ruu.exe again, but still no luck with booting to rom. Also I've tried factory reset in bootloader after finishig ruu.exe and the same thing.

Well, go into fastboot and unlock the bootloader again, install 4ext recovery (if you cant find the img file I can help you) and install any rom based on sense which will work on hboot 1.53.

Yeah and I've tried "fastboot boot recovery.img" command to boot to recovery, it was success but again the phone restarts. And just to mention that I've also tried cwm recovery but the result is the same.
I suppose that my evo is a true brick now :/

Try 4ext recovery, fastboot install recovery 4extimg.img and after that reboot into recovery. If it enters recovery install a close to stock ics rom, with 4ext smart flash enabled or extract the boot.img from the rom and install it through fastboot (fastboot install boot boot.img).
I can provide you the latest 4ext recovery img, pm me if you need it.

Already did that with 4ext and cwm but none of them won't boot to recovery, but for the rom, i did ruu.exe after flashing recovery (that won't boot) and after relocking, then I unocked bootloader and flashed boot.img from the same ruu.zip, but no results, bootlooping. I think nothing can be done, it's a brick.

You flashed the ruu with the exe though windows or through sdcard? Did you try to remove the sdcard? Try fastboot wipe or format recovery before installing the new img.
