Hi,
i recently installed CM on my samsung s3 using the installer. All went all. Until after about 2 weeks, the phone was not charging correctly. So i went into the settings and performed a factory reset. No i had not installed or used clockworks to back up my phone. This left my phone in an unusaul state, where there was no home screen, i could not access my apps, although i could access the quick settings tab. Moving on....i followed a guide to try and restore my phones orginal rom using odin. According to odin all was successful, however my phone was stuck in a boot loop and so would not continue into phone. i read up and saw if i installed clockwork i could wipe cache and this might help the phone. so i installed clockwork using odin again. however when i try and access clockwork through the recovery mode, it only loads into odin mode? so i am unable to load clockwork as well i think. I am very new and this and i know i have probably made many mistakes but we learn through our mistakes. So my question is: Could someone please help me get my phone back to its orginal state!? Thankyou very much for anyone that can offer their time and help,
Nick

So basically what happened here was things went wrong. And I accidently Unrooted my phone The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant
Which is running GingerR2 on 2.2 I want to install another rom, but can't
I do have Clockworkmod recovery installed I got this phone second-handed so from what I tried there doesn't seem to be a backup
Is there a way to do this or instructions I can follow?
I have searched the forums and can't find anything really related to this and if there was something I apologize for not noticing.
Have tried Z4root it just closed itself after a certain period and phone didn't restart
Tried one click root
Even the option in the recovering for running the SD card won't root it
Thank you kindly for your answer
Just download the cw recovery update.zip and flash it in normal recovery (reinstall packages) twice on the second reinstall it will put u in cw recovery (green font) use it to flash a new rom because they all come rooted.
Any more questions email me cuz I don't get here too much anymore. I will PM u my email
Use AIO Vibrant tools on development area. Its a good tool, It does all you need on ur vibrant including rooting. That's what I am using.

Hey all, so I have a galaxy s2 (as you may have guessed) and had a friend root it for me a while back with lightning rom ... Not sure if anyone can help me here ...
I am giving the phone to mum, so went and did a factory reset on it, and it apparently ate the OS because it is now just stuck rebooting itself, it wont actually load into the OS at all.
I've gotten it into recovery mode, but nothing i do seems to work, it just says it can't find files, or sits on a screen with a pretty little icon.
Is there any way I can download the OS again, or somehow get it back onto the phone?
Cheers for your help in advance!

Find a rom that is installed through odin, either a stock ki8 rom or a modded one, there's plenty in the dev sections.
do you have CWM installed if it is then mount usb storage from CWM menu push the ROM in your mobile from your PC. I would recommend this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290468
then install as the instructions given on the first page
P.S odin works good too, your choice
There is a sticky just at the start page called bootloop. Take advantage of that.

I have a s4 schi545 and used the all in one tool for rooting my phone. It worked successfully, so I ran the install twrp 2.5.0.2 I then went to the cyanogen website and put a rom on my phone in a folder and tried to load it onto my phone. The cm loading screen just loops endlessly and I cannot get my phone back on, can someone please help me I am starting to freak out a bit.
edit:
I got it to open with recovery mode, now is there a way I can have it boot into the 'default os' ?
You flashed cyanogenmod in, so the stock rom is gone (unless you actually performed a nandroid backup which you could restore if you did). You are going to have to mount your phone to a PC and load a different rom to flash.

Did you do a factory reset when loading the new ROM? You can't carry data from one ROM to another. If you really want to go back, as stated above you'll need to use Odin to flash the stock firmware.
You may have to go back to stock if you didn't make the backup and start over.
You can restore your phone to factory here

Just make sure you follow the Op's directions carefully...

Thanks alot.
Before I went to sleep last night I rebooted in recovery and did a data wipe, I had no idea you had to clear the entire os and am happy to know the stock os is now gone, I was going to ask that today. What do you guys think of CM 10?
Thank you all so much.
Hello,
I think I made a big error when attempting to install the Hyperdrive rom. I rooted the phone with Odin, then installed Safestrap. Then I rebooted into recovery to install the rom. I did everything perfectly up to this point. But then I decided I was going to wipe the cache. Except I accidentally wiped EVERYTHING. So I cannot boot into the phone because presumably the OS is deleted. The phone just freezes on the "Samsung Galaxy S4" splash screen.
I made a single mistake and now I cannot use my phone.
I think I could probably use Odin to flash the original OS on the phone right? But I would need the file and instructions on how to do it.
I really need my phone on a regular basis so if any of you could tell me what my options are and help me to recover, I would appreciate it.
If I could restore to MI1, that would be the easiest because then I could simply flash the Hyperdrive rom like I was planning.
Thanks. I hope someone can help me.
If it boots up to a splash screen, I'm pretty sure you can hold vol down+power+home to boot into download mode and odin.

there are some youtube videos on using ODIN and there are several discussion threads in XDA concerning odin and installing stock images back to the phone
I'd like to start this thread in establishing that I am not familiar with how all this works, nor do I have any idea how to fix it, which is why I'm here. I only know the system info, such as version, firmware, etc.
In attempting to add cyanogen mod on my already previously rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 gt-p3113, I watched a video that directed me to install clockwork recovery and root in a single bundle using Odin, (which I successfully did). I then proceeded to install cyanogen mod while in clockwork recovery, which it then told me to factory reset wipe all data before doing so. After going to the "main page" of CWM and resetting the device like it told me, I then went back to install cyanogen mod, only to have it tell me that CWM is out of date. I tried rebooting the device, but it would take me back to CWM, which im assuming means I deleted to OS on accident.
After all that, I finally concluded I'm stuck on an old version of Clockwork Recovery with no OS installed. I can access download mode, however when I'm not in download mode the device automatically boots up to the old version of clockwork mod, and I'm stuck there.
As I have no idea how all this stuff works and did pretty much everything from a YouTube video, I'm hoping a more experienced developer can help fix the problem and somehow help me regain use of my tablet. At this point I don't care whether I can get cyanogen mod installed or not, and I would appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks

Well, I would say that may be a bigger problem ! Now what I think better for you would be trying to flash the stock ROM over to the device again I am sure you have your hands over the flashing. So head over to the sammobile/firmware section and try getting the stock ROM downloaded and flash it over your device.
