I searched around and didn't see this mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd give the heads up.
I just got my (new) TF300t and I decided check out its' gaming capabilities (never had a Tegra tablet before). So I put the tablet in the dock, loaded up Shadowgun because it sure does look pretty and I heard it had controller support. Specifically, I heard it had PS3 controller support. Well, I tried plugging in my PS3 controller via USB and it wasn't recognized - got nothing out of it. So I dug around my closet and pulled out my Wireless Xbox 360 controller for PC[/URL]. Plugged it in, and it worked. I was pretty impressed with Tegra graphics and I hope the market grows.
After about 45 minutes I decided that was enough for now, and exited out of the game. At this point I unplugged wireless Xbox 360 controller receiver and the tablet completely locked up. After about 20 seconds or so, it rebooted.
So I tested it again: Loaded up Shadowgun, plugged in wireless controller receiver, played for a few minutes, exited, and unplugged, and sure enough it locked up again.
The next time I was back at the home screen I decided to plug the wireless receiver into the dock again WITHOUT playing Shadowgun to see if the game had anything to do with it or not. Nope. I plugged it in and then unplugged it and the tablet locked up again.
For the record, I also tested two other USB controllers: the Logitech Cordless Precision, and the Ion Go Pad. I plugged them in and out of the dock several times and had no problems with either.
So apparently the Wireless XBOX 360 Controller for PC has a problem with this tablet. Or maybe it's just me. Anyone else try it?
(I tried to post links to the actual Gamepad's I was testing but I'm too new to post links, yet.)
I'd like to believe that this is just my tablet, but I've been through two now and both suffered the same issue. If anyone has any experience with this, please feel free to share.
TL;DR: Microsoft Wireless 360 Gamepad for PC will cause your TF300t tablet to lock up when it is unplugged.
you can use the PS3 controller via bluetooth.

Yes, but unfortunately the app to sync the ps3 controller requires root, and I haven't rooted this device yet because I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep it. I can't take it back if it's rooted.
I'm having issues where the tablet locks up and reboots from time to time. (mostly when browsing the web).
You can give it back if you just root as long as you don't unlock your device.

How do you reverse root? I have not found a good article about it yet...

It's real simple. . .if you haven't found any article on how to root . .check this out.
[TOOL][APK ROOT]SparkyRoot Apk root method
But make sure you downgrade to v9.4.3.17. . .thats what I had to do and then O.T.A to each version, while restoring the root backup with OTA RootKeeper

FYI
This root app has been confirmed working on certain versions of the ASUS Transformer (TF101), Transformer Prime (TF201), Transformer (TF300) Devices.
This includes
v9.4.2.15 for the TF201
v9.2.1.11 for the TF101
v9.4.3.17 for the TF300
This method (as it is currently implemented) no longer works with:
v9.4.2.21 for the TF201
v9.2.1.17 for the TF101
v9.4.3.26 for the TF300
You can use this downgrade method to revert back to a supported ROM in order to use this root method and then you can use OTA RootKeeper to keep root during the update that is pushed (downgrade method is confirmed on TF201, TF101, and TF300).

. . . after all that just just run OTA RootKeeper and remove the backup (delete the both apps including superuser and reboot)
try this

I used the 1 click root app an it work great and fast and has option to unroot

You don't need root for playstation dualshock 3 on TF300T, nor do you need an app.
This works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514777
Tried it yesterday. Works great.
I played for a few minutes with the USB cable plugged in, then unplugged USB cable and the dualshock still worked.
youre not the only one with this issue.

You don't need root or a special app, the 300 supports the PS3 controller out of the box. Just plug it in via USB and and switch the controller on. Give it a minute or so to to sync MACs and then swap over to bluetooth. You can reconfigure the controller buttons in Shadowgun itself (why don't all games allow this - especially NOVA3!?).
A quick FYI
I just got my Asus USB adapter the other day, and one of the first things I plugged in was my old Microsoft branded Xbox 360 Wireless USB adapter to play around with it, and had no problems at any point before, during, or after plugging it in.

USB adapter isn't the same as the dock, which is probably why it worked
Kinda OT, if one has a wired Xbox 360 controller and has the dock does it work, and is there the same issue that OP had?
PS/3 Pairing Tool doesn't require root - Google Play - cost $2.75
This problem seems to only happen with android gamepad drivers. A workaround is to remove the pad from dock, then remove xbox wireless adapter, then place pad back.
Just got a usb otg cable and ps3 mock pad which works just fine, however when trying to get a wired Xbox 360 controller to work, it doesn't seem to like it.
So I did a little search and found an app which someone has used in a video to show off exactly this as well as other otg connectivity.
The app is called USB/BT joystick center.
There's is a free version which is the only one I can get for the galaxy s 3, the paid for version isn't available apparently, even though I think it may work, I've no issue buying it but I can't as it won't let me.
The problem I have with the free one is that I install the center app, which is needed, I am able to see my Xbox controller, then there's a second app which is used to map keys etc.
This app always says that the center app is not installed?
There is very little info out there about this app and this particular error.
I know it can work on the galaxy s 3 as I've seen it in a video, it has been posted on xda recently and it is legit.
Does anyone have any ideas on this please?
Many thanks.

Well I bought it the other day and haven't really played around with it much yet but I tried with wired Ps3 and 360 and it is showing key inputs. and you can also use a wireless Ps3 controller but you have to plug a compatible Bluetooth dongle into phone first to get Mac address.

You right it's not on the market anymore for some reason, but I bought it on the 19th for £2.89, and I was searching for days for a cracked version and every one I found just started up with a white screen and crashed.

Yea that's exactly what happened to me, so what I did was switched my old evo 3d on and signed back into it, for whatever reason its available on sensation and the evo 3d. So I bought it, backed it up with titanium, copied the back up to my phone, restored it then allowed it to verify my email address, which it did and now it works
What a pain in the Arse that was.
Now I've got the problem of trying to decypher the actual app lol, all fun an games.

If you're Rooted then Market Enabler might help see it in the Play Store (for newcomers to the thread).
Does anyone know why my ps3 Bluetooth can't connect to my phone? I could connect it to my pos intercept. Its an official ps3 blutooth. (urban camo)
Is your phone rooted and have custom rom?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
No its stock virgin mobile ics. I had the same prob. W/ the two triumphs I had for three weeks. On the Bluetooth there is a phone button that you push to pair w/ a phone. I guess ill research what the audio codes are to see if they match. Well that's the only thing that worked better w/ the intercept. Lol
I've been told that there is a conflict with sense and the bluetooth ports that are used for pairing the ps3 controllers.
Install an AOSP or a sense-less rom and you should be able to pair them just fine.
I've tested on a MIUI rom about 4-5 months ago and it ran fine. I think there is even a thread around here somewhere for preset controls for some of the more popular games.
Got it to work.
Its for the Bluetooth earpiece not the game controller. Doesn't look like it will support navigation and reading me my email and messages. Maybe there is an app for it.
Got it to work.
All I had to do was hold the power button down until it flashes red green. Since this is designed for the ps3 first and has a seperate button to pair w/ a phone. I was using the same method I used for the intercept . I didn't get a manual w/ the bluetooth, it had only been out for three weeks when I bought it used from gamestop. It was 50 bucks retail and I got it for 32.00 . Thanks guys, ill save my money now. I also saw some settings on the phoune regarding messaging and text through the bluetooth. Gonna try it now. Thanks again... Sony still doesn't have the manuall online lucky for me its basically the same as the first one they came out with.
Hello everyone on the xdadevelopers. As always before posting here; I rummage around the internet in hope of answers from any source I can. Sadly, I've not been successful in my quest and now will turn to the minds of you wonderful developers who have taught me alot already.
To cut a long story short, I'd like to play ROM's on my emulators with my NEO Controller by Subsonic. I opted for the NEO as it seems a fair bit larger than the PS3's toothpick sized controllers (to me anyway).
Does anyone know of any way I could achieve syncing this controller to my Galaxy S2 as I'm at my wit's and technological know-how end.
I'm open to all suggestions and am more than happy to donate to whomever can find me an answer and get this sodding thing working!
Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.

hello.
have you tried the sixaxis controller off the play store.
i used it to use my ps3 pad on my phone for roms. you need the sixaxis controller from the market and and the paring tool for pc/mac to change the bluetooth and adress of the pad to the same as the phone.

SixAxis requires your phone to be rooted. Do you have root?
Also, it states in the play store entry that it works best with OEM PS3 controllers, not 3rd party controllers.
And what exact model of GS2 do you have?

Yep, my phone is rooted, I'm currently on Simplistic ROM which is a samsung based ROM I believe. I've also tried it on Cyanogenmod10 ROMs and MIUI to no joy.
I have the unbranded international S2 on the Orange UK network. I believe the orange branded is the i9100G or is it the i9100P? Can't remember which. But mine is the bog standard Galaxy S2, no Orange branding or software to the phone originally.

Well, you also state you're using NEO Controller by Subsonic controllers? As I said above, the SixAxis controller app is stated to work best with OEM PS3 controllers - i.e. controllers actually made by Sony intended for the PS3.
So... if you were trying to use the SixAxis app with the NEO controller, that's probably why it didn't work.
Sorry I can't help further - I use SixAxis with an official PS3 controller, which works fine for my needs.
Maybe try "USB/BT Joystick Center 6" or "Bluez IME" from the Play Store?
Hello, i have a usb xbox 360 controller (realy a usb nothing a charge cable) and a OTG cable, I've seen many videos where to connect these control the galaxy s3 is automatically recognized but in my phone with JB 4.2 and stock kernel only frash the lights, not recognized in any way with any buttons ...... Wath I do wrong?
Sorry for my bad ..VERY BAD ENGLISH xD but this I mean:
http://youtu.be/lrZ-xnzYVLA
Hey everyone, I'm having the same problem and unfortunately searching has not provided a definitive answer. Some youtube vids and articles say you can just plug and play, others say you need to root and use the sixaxis app or the usb/bt joystick app.
Like the OP I have an S3 on 4.1.1, but when I plug in the official wired xbox pad, it doesn't appear to be recognised. Youtube vids show grand theft auto 3 working without anything more then using an OTG cable to connect the pad. I downloaded the usb/bt joystick app and it recognises the pad, but pretty sure I would need to root the phone in order for that to work properly (although I did manage to get the analogue sticks working at least).
If anyone knows for definite whether the pad should work without any apps I would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
I already made a small research, it was a big dump of crap
For native support, we need first of all, recomiled xpad.ko and ff-memless.ko modules for the latest kernel, but no of the devs took a look at this problem.
As a programmer noob, I wasnt even able to do this, so it is still up to the devs for helping out on this ****.
I also mailed samsung and the told me, they will pass on the actual situation and maybe we will ged support in near future. so take it on and contract samsung, possibly it will bring something
and sorry for my bad english, hadnt any real conversation for more than a half year.

Yeah man you you're right ... just waiting.
Thanks guys, much appreciated! Guess I'll just wait it out then, the people in the vids must have rooted, was kinda hard to tell.
Of course you need root, mate, without root there is nothing possible.
Only with root you can place modules inside your system partition, use init.d and launch modules trough an terminal emulator or just as I said, have a custom kernel with init.d support, so you can setup a script, that will start the modules just at boot of your phone.
but I havent found anyone who could do this, and I dont have any ideas how to code or compile the ****^^
there are also some versions of the module e.g. for ICS kernels, for GB too, and for extremely old based kernels like 2.6.xxxx, but nothing for exynos based 3.0.31 kernel that sucks
