Hi guys, does anyone have jhls2 modem for s2 by chance?
I've been looking everywhere for it and I can't seem to find it,
It's the only modem left for my region that i haven't tried, the others really Suck!
Thanks in advance.
Find the rom it's bundled with (Samfirmware/AndroidFirmwares.net/Samsung-Updates.com), download the rom, extract the modem.bin file, flash with Odin in phone section. Might be quicker than hoping who has the modem seeing your thread (understatement).
DONE!
thanks man, i found it in samfirmwares somewhere, did as you said, aaaaand its working.
I uploaded the modem here in case anyone was looking for it, cheers .
Good man Well done on getting it done yourself, and good job uploading it to this thread for future reference :good:
Edit to add - Also for future reference/anyone else who reads this thread, once you've got the modem.bin file out of the stock rom, you can also take any CWM flashable modem package you have laying around, take the existing modem.bin file out of that, and swap in the modem.bin you pulled out of the stock rom. That way you can bypass Odin & flash with CWM as per usual if you prefer. Either way works just fine.
here is a CWM flashable JHLS2 modem. and for those who are interested, yes its better than any other for Orange-IL.

I am attempting to flash the cognition ROM w/ninphetamine kernel for the i9100 onto my i777. I was wondering how I would go about changing the modem within BEFORE flashing. Assuming I have only worked with ROMS and never kernels, an answer assuming I don't really know anything about unpacking and repacking a kernel would be great! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Serendipity 8 isn't letting me make calls.. bad modem?
Flashed Serendipity 8, and it works fine. Except for one big problem. The modem is 1900XXKH3 and I got a feeling this isn't the right one. I know there is a flashable update around here some where. Anyone got a link?
Found the link..
Download Entropy512's Return/Unbrick to Stock, Kernel + non-rooted system package from here
Download that zip, and flash the modem.tar file under the "phone" browse in ODIN and that should fix thing so your phone now works with Serendipity 8. Probably will work the same with other international ROMS.
Find all the good stuff here: Which is the Samsung Galaxy S2 recovery thread.

I got a Telus Note today, and of course first thing I do is try to root it. But I didn't read the directions well enough so wound up flashing a GB kernel and softbricking my phone.
I couldn't find a stock ICS kernel, so I downloaded a stock rom and extracted the kernel. If anyone needs it, here it is in an odin flashable tar so you don't have to download and flash 500megs of firmware...
(Hope this isn't in the wrong forum, if it is let me know and I'll move it)

Hello do you still have the original ROM or the link to it? I'd like to flash back to complete stock. Thanks!
Quick question, hopefully easy for someone far wiser than myself, how do I rip the zImage from my currently installed ROM. And, from what I read from other threads, I can simply inject it into another kernel's flashable zip?
I have no copy of flappp's ICS kernel. I'd like to rip it off my phone for safe keeping. Someone in general posted links to his JB kernels. If I just replace the zImage in one of those with the zImage from my phone, it would then be the same difference -- it would work if I was to reflash BS in the future?
There was an app that I used back in the captivate days that would do this but no idea if it works but it was sgs kernel flasher. or you could just go download his kernel from rootdev.org
Ok, so, here's the deal:
I use Temasek's CM 10.2. I'm currently at the efs v2 thingy, which means I previously flashed an MG4 Sammy ROM. Everything is working, except the battery drain the modem has, so I want to flash a different modem.
As I've been told, I can flash any of the modems past that so-called efs change, for example, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45144043, but I've also been told to "remove the RIL" cause CM uses open-RIL and if i'll flash this one, it will stop working. How do I "remove the RIL" from the flashable .zip file? Which files to I have to modify?

Get an old modem without ril flashable zip and replace the modedm.bin inside that old zip with the new one you want to flash.
Or use my Aroma zip in the imei /efs - know this stuff thread for MG2 or MG4. If there is a newer baseband that needs adding to that zip, let me know so I can add it.

Yea, i saw your flashable MG2/MG4, they are both pretty bad for me. I don't know which are newer basebands to be added, but I think (looking at Omega Files app and the Omega ROM thread) that there exists a UBEMH1 out in the end of August

Yes that would be newer. If you know where I can get the individual file from, please send me the link and I'll update my package.

Sorry, had some config file issues. It's slowly uploading now.
give it 5 minutes then check the link in general > sticky roll-up thread > imei / efs - know this stuff.

Hello! I have been rooting and flashing roms for a while now, and after sticking with a cm mod for a while i decided it was time for a change. I foolishly didn't back anything up and just flashed a rom to check it out. I have a Galaxy s3 19300 unlocked version (i have it on a plan for cricketwireless). I cannot get odin to work for me to flash a new custom rom, a stock rom, or even begin trying to flash. Odin either gives me the nanad write error or the program stops responding. I have samsung drivers installed and really need some help. I'd appreciate any help on getting me one step closer to a working phone. Thanks!

Try with a pit file and other version of odin.If it still persists then use cwm to flash touchwiz based rom.

Could you link me with the correct pit file, I haven't been able to find one for my Galaxy S3 8Gb 19300. And I have tried all versions of odin so far so Ill give each one a shot when you give me the link for the pit or I eventually find one. Thanks for the fast response by the way.

Another question, should I be flashing the pit file (if you or I can find one) with a custom/stock rom or without a rom. Thanks in advance.

yea its 16 gb just 11 gb available and 8 gb available after firmware its stupid but w/e. anyway i got it to work by formatting sd card which got rid of corrupted custom rom and made it just a normal stock bootloop so i flashed stock firmware for a random region and then cf auto rooted and flashed a custom rom. All good now but ty for the help i wouldnt have looked into pit files which led me to the stock file and made me try it. I guess if ur willing to format sd card it gets a lot easier.
not sure how to close a thread but i guess this should be good enough for now. [CLOSED]
