I have a new Lumia 920. So far I love this phone!
One problem I have is I can't get my Yahoo outbox to sync (can't SEND email). I can receive them just fine, but it kicks me to an error message that my settings for winmo.smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465:1 are incorrect. I have done everything I can think of and it just won't send emails unless I'm on wifi...
I'm on Straight Talk with an ATT sim. I gotta believe it has something to do with that...
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Anyone had a problem of unable to send email eventhough you can receive ok? This is driving me nuts! I read in the XDA II page under product info/known limitations that this is normal first time sending email. They claim to just ignore the error messages and re-click on the "send and receive" icon - it should work fine afterwards.. But it DID NOT worked fine I am still unable to send emails. Receiving is ok.
Anyone out there with any insights ?
mailbox incoming/outgoing setup is fine. sheesh..
How is your network carrier?
regardless of who you use for your email account, ensure that if you are using the O2 Mobile Web service that your Sendmail server is set to smtp.o2.co.uk
I'm not too technical but I think 1 of my mail accounts requires a different login to send mail which you cant setup on the XDAII. Maybe...
For some reason I can do everything through Wifi except send emails. I can successfully receive my emails, view them, download attachments, browse with internet explorer, and chat on all messenger programs! I have spoken to upper tier level support people at T-mobile and they confirmed my outgoing settings are correct. I use yahooo small business email server and outgoing is set to: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com. Can anyone help me with this problem?
This is the error message I get: "messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your e-mail account settings are correct. Then try to download messages again".
timing
Is this a problem that you have just encoutnered or a longer running one. I find that I sometimes get this message if my PC is off (killing the wifi network) or if my internet provider webmail server is down. It may ahve been a glitch that will sort itlsef.
Don't bother phoning and paying fpr Tmobile support - trust me - they don't know anything about the phone you have - stick with the forum!
Hi, I've had this problem from day 1, never been able to send emails
try this
you could try instead of outgoingserver smtp.bizmail
just type in this text smtp.mail.yahoo.com
and furthermore leave the boxes requires ssl connection and outgoing mail requires authentication OPEN.
hope this works for you as it works for me.
Thanks for the suggestion... Tried it, but still no success. Anybody else?
outlook
DO you use outlook elsewhere for this/these accounts and have you double checked that the settings are identical?
Can you send via GPRS?
Everything else works fine but I can not send or receive text messages. Message center phone number is set to 13123149810. Any ideas on what could be wrong. phone is stock setup
When you get phone?
Error message when send?
You try update profile?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
got phone yesterday at best buy, no error message, recipient just never receives the text. This is my first android, how do i update profile?
You might just call AT&T and make sure your account settings are right. For some reason, the Note is a little different setup on the back end for AT&T than a lot of other devices - particularly if you're moving from a non-LTE phone and the guys at BB may not have setup your account correctly. Still seems a little odd everything else would work right. I always thought it was an all or nothing kind of thing but who knows.
ok, thanks for your help
I dont get cell service at one of my friend's houses that i go to a lot. Is there anyway to have texts get forwarded to my email if they are not delivered because i dont have cell service? he has wifi so i would be able to check my email to see if i missed an important message or something. Is it possible to do something like this with phone calls?
I just moved to the S3 from an iphone and most of the ppl i talk to, friends and family, have iphones so i used to be able get imessages which come through on internet and not cell signal but cant now that i have an S3.
bump. anyone? anyway to have undelivered texts forwarded to email?
Google voice. You can skip the forwarding part too.
I have two accounts configured on my phone, one an IMAP Exchange server for Hotmail, the other a POP3 ATT account. Both were working fine. I just tried to send an e-mail from my phone and neither account can send e-mail although receiving is working fine. Nothing has changed on the phone recently. I looked in my Outbox for the IMAP account and noticed a couple of replies I sent last week were still sitting there never having been sent. When I click on Send Items all I get is a rotating arrow that never stops. If I send something from the POP3 account I get an error message saying Connection Error (ATT). Any clues?
