Looking for a FlipWallet with one card slot (to put my transport card)
that has Auto-Wake/Auto-Sleep
and a cutout so that the LED indicator can shine through
was thinking of the Samsung Official FlipWallet Case...
but it has no cutout for the LED
and it does not seem to offer good protection (I'm currently using a Rearth case)
any suggestions?
I got a Seidio Ledger - the one without the s-view window but instead a pocket where I keep two cards as well as cutouts for the speaker and LED light. There are no auto sleep/wake functions in the case itself but I use a really handy app called Smart Screen, which uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen off/on after the cover is opened/closed after a configurable amount of time (2 seconds works well, b/c it will also toggle the screen if you cover / wave over the proximity sensor with your hand).
I like and would recommend that case, but take that app for a spin (free... I think with ads, but it seems that the Xposed module xad always blocks them for me). If you like the app it opens your options quite a bit (the first case I got was a Cruzerlite wallet case, which is also nice and more protective than the Seido, but it's significantly thicker and I prefer Seidio's style so I almost always use that one).
Hope that helps with your case search!

Well, there is not much on accessories side for Nook STR. Cover, screen protector, external light and SD cards.
I'll stick with my cheapo cover from amazon.

Link to cheapo cover on Amazon, please?
Jrec,
The cover is the Casecrown one. Was cheaper a couple of weeks ago. It fits snuggly, blocks only SD cover, and it makes a little harder to hit the button savior arrow on the right side. Besides that, a winner.
Casecrown cover
Thanks! I trust that in time we'll see lots more after market stuff for the N2E.

A Great Light For N2E...
I just bought the Kandle Ozeri II light for my N2E it works great. Amazon has it for $25.00 (not able to post links yet). It runs on the button batteries two for 20 hours. At first I was against this but you can by 25 for $5 on Amazon. It also has two settings for brightness however the lowest setting works great for me with no dark spots on the screen. Some of the reviews stated it looked cheap and some of the clips have broken on them. Mine seems good so far but I'm careful putting it on and taking it off.
Mine even goes on with the nook cover (Lautner Case) I just got at Barnes. When I slide the light on I still put the clip in between the cover and the back of the device. But I think it would fit over the case also.
Also one more thing it does block the power button when you clip it on top of the N2E but I turn my device on before I stick the light on.
Hi,
Has anyone insights about stylus ? (cf. "Simple-Touch-Reader-Generation-Accessories" on Amazon)
Thx !
Have a Verso Arc Rechargeable reading light, and it fits perfectly on my nook.
USB keyboard
Would love to buy a working USB keyboard/dock, once it exists.

There will not be a stylus for the Nook STR that will offer any sort of precision because of the IR touchscreen. IR touchscreens aren't extremely accurate and require a large contact area on the screen to reliably pick up the touch. It's not capacitive, so a capacitive stylus won't do you any good, and neither will a typical stylus for a DS or palm or other device sporting a resistive touchscreen (resistive touchscreens can essentially be poked with anything and that anything can be used as a stylus)
Simply put, it's because of the IR touchscreen needing such a big contact area that you're not going to see any effective stylus, ever.
However, a finger and a whiteboard widget does result in an effective notepad.

I picked up an iFrogz stylus from Staples for my phone it works great on the Touch too. It's got a soft tip so it's not going to mess with the screen and it's accurate enough to work or write with.
I use the rubber on the end of a pencil to hit chromium browser tabs while in vncviewer... seeing as it's not a capacitive screen
rather good...
Hi,
Cant remember where I read that the sony case itself as well as several non-sony ones would support smart cover (when you flip open, the screen comes on without you touching it) and smart sleep (goes to sleep when you close the cover). Sort of like a ipad function. I have the sony original case for tablet z and I cant the 2 features to work.
any ideas? thanks

i've this one and works perfect for me with the smart sleep function. It's great quality.
I know the Sony official case woleeps/wakes fine out of the box with no changes needed to settings. I returned it to frys though because it wasn't worth $90 with tax in my opinion.

Yeah I think it is supposed to have those features, sounds like a faulty case to me. I was thinking about getting this case, but decided to save some money and just got a sleeve that also turns into a stand. Would be more practical for me anyway, I don't like cases.

I just tested the smart functionality using my Sony case (the red one). It works as far as I can tell: It wakes the screen when you open the cover and puts it to sleep when the cover is shut.
It's an elegant cover. But I agree that it's too expensive for what it is. I use it on my commute to work. I've read complaints that it's too bulky. It does not seem so to me, and it's pretty easy to take the XTZ out of the case when I get to my office.
Disable function
Is there a way to disable this function? Thanks
Out of curiosity, how does it work at all? Is it simply working through the light sensor, i.e. when its covered and pitchdark it assumes cover closed and goes to sleep, once ambient light reaches it it wakes up?
Or is it more elaborate than that?

There is a reed switch about an inch left of the front camera. A magnet will activate the switch and cause the tablet to enter Sleep Mode. Removing the magnet will cause the tablet to wake. Many tablet cases have a magnet in their front cover.
@hyann I'm using the Poetic case for my XTZ and the smart wake/lock function works great. It isn't bulky or heavy either and the best part is that you can get it for under $20 USD. It's a well designed case and protects the device really well. Basically the tablet is placed into the matte finished plastic case that's connected to the leather binding.

Is there anyone else experienced like this issue ??
My genuine S-View cover sometimes not detect cover open, i try two or three times again, finally it works...
So, am i have faulty one or is it normal ??
Same as well.
I have zero issue with my s view case

I returned my s-view to T-Mobile today and got a Tech21. The s-view features were neat but the case would not stay closed causing my Note to wake. I also felt it offered little real protection if it dropped and the lid flopped open it would be like having no case @ all. (imagine it skidding down the driveway with the s-view opening and closing)

Just got my S view case today and I am really liking it. There is nothing keeping the flap down, but I think in a drop it will be decently protected.
Also I thought it would be much more bulkier than it is. Folded back you can hardly tell it's there, other than the edges cutting your fingers
I got mine yesterday and I noticed that I on the right edge (where the stitches are) I had to run my finger across it.
It help the cover stay closed.
I feel that the S-view case needs to have more viewing options. It is very limited to accessing the camera, action memo, and music player. I also don;t like that we can only view incoming calls and text. There should be more options for other apps or at least access notification panel.

I agree, it even displays less icons in the notification bar through the window. Almost a step back from that perspective.
Overall does what it's supposed to do, but some annoyances with it! I wouldn't spend money on it at this present state.
DOES NOT work with most cases
Weird grid (dot matrix) on the screen.
Adhesive isn't very strong, very little pressure lifts it up.
Isn't "round" on edges
If you have any specific questions let me know, I'll post specific pictures if you'd like; but here's a few showing the annoyances
I'll upload images here
Can you still see the dots when you turn on the screen?

You apparently didn't go outside with it lol. I was out yesterday in sunlight and the dots were VERY noticeable with the screen on/off.

It's been overcast & gloomy, so I didn't notice it until today when the sun was out; only can see it at a certain angle; definitely wouldn't recommend this protector in this form.
I've owned TechMatte screen protectors on pretty much every device I've owned over the last 2 years and have yet to be disappointed until this protector.
I got this as part of the free promo on here. I've noticed some good and bad
PROs:
1) Does cover entire screen
2) No halo effect
3) Cutouts do fit correctly to FFC, sensor, earpiece and buttons
4) Comes with all the proper install materials
5) Fit fine with my case.
CONs:
1) Odd dot-matrix effect. Not sure if this has something to do with the fact that the screen doesn't seem to "attach" like most tempered glass protectors.
2) Fingerprint resistance is not as good as typical TechMatte items I've bought.
3) Cover for the home button does seem to cause a bit of disturbance with EASE of fingerprint sensor use. It still works, but it does seem to "miss" more
4) Biggest and most disappointingly: It interferes with the swipe down for notifications. I find I have to use WAY more pressure to pull down the notification section. Also am noticing an alarming number of "missed" letters when I am typing now.
It looks great and applies well, but I would have to agree with the OP that I wouldn't buy this in it's current state.
Worst thing for me is that I had to pitch the screen protector I had on it that while it wasn't edge to edge, it was responsive and didn't inhibit anything. Now I have to pay another $9 to get another one shipped to me, as I can't deal with retyping everything I input 3 times to correct for missed key strokes.
Take a look at this one. I just ordered it cuz someone posted this on one of the forums. It looks pretty decent.

It's been a while since I've posted on XDA... Found this ROXFIT PRO TOUCH case.... Premium Quality... I just checked the link and it's currently out of stock... Keep checking and get this case! You'll love it!

ROXFIT Cover is back on Amazon with limited stock, hurry and order yours. I have to be honest tho, you'll love the look but it'll take ya a couple of weeks to get use to the case but I promise once you get use to the case, you'll love it! Hit the Thanks button if this helps.
Bought this case 2 weeks ago. Very good build quality. The semi-transparent, touch sensitive cover doubles up as a brilliant privacy filter/anti glare filter. When viewing messages or other text through the cover, you can only see what it says if your face is within 2-3 feet of the screen and *directly* in front of it. Any other angle or distance and it's super blurry. It's also very good if you need to view a notification or the time late at night during sleep hours, as it doesn't emit a glare.
Downside is that the proximity sensor doesn't always detect the cover because of the semi transparency, and as a result sometimes the screen is still on during a phonecall and buttons can be pushed accidentally. I have already gotten comfortable with this though and with unnoticed adjustment I now no longer have any issues with this particular problem.
One last thing, the plastic on the back is a fingerprint magnet. If you pride in your phones current shimmer/shineyness, this case quickly turns it into an intrinsic artwork of pinky marks.
Seems fragile
I just recived mine and I am very disapointed about the quality, I want to be optimistic, but I fear the front "semi-transparent" part will be very fragile (as in the HTC dot view of the One M9).
So does anyone who had it for a longer time could reassure me on the quality of the product, or tell me right away if it's of poor quality ?
Thank you for your answers :good:
PS : is it dangerous to turn the front part all the way to the back ? will it tear the plastic junction down or is it possible ?

Can we set the phone to do different things when opening the flap ? Like on the official case for the xz? and what about the automatic brightness? does the sensor turn the brightness down when you close the flap?

yes kinda
So, is there any kind of feature that keeps the transparent flap closed (as opposed to letting it flap around freely)? The huge problem with the official XZ style cover was that the flap was flapping freely. If one kept the phone magnetically attached to car's dashboard, the flap would constantly flap open and closed as the car accelerated and decelerated. That effectively made that cover unusable. Is this problem fixed in Roxfit cover?
