Are there any sense 4.0 roms available?

No need to be rude.
The Sense 4.0 framework only works on ICS, which is why no one has ported it from the One X to Gingerbread for the Thunderbolt (or any other Gingerbread ROM). When we get a working RIL or an official leak/release from Verizon or HTC, I'm sure we will see someone strip the Sense 3.6 from the Thunderbolt ICS leak and replace it with a ported Sense 4.0 from the One X or other new HTC device.

He's probably one of many people who thinks this belongs in the Q/A section and not Development.

There is an almost sense 4.0 on rootzwiki. It's a 3.5 sense based Rom. Couple graphics bugs but very solid.

I've run this on my OG EVO and it's surprisingly nice. It has the obvious bugs, but they are being sorted by some of the best sense dev's that sub-forum has seen. I guess I don't understand what the real hold-up would be if the T-bolt is already a step ahead with 3.6 hangin out there.

As far as ive seen the thunderbolt ics rom hasnt leaked yet, so we are data less on ics till then, I dont see someone putting out a sense 4 rom just to be nagged to death with eta requests

Not RIL is the hold up. We could port sense 4 all day long but it does us no good without ril or kernel source.

So that ROM is for EVO but works on tbolt, correct?
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
No rom on the evo is just going to work on the Tbolt. Don't flash roms from other devices or you just might get a brick.

That's good to know at least. It is possible to brick by flashing a rom for another device. Just saying.

There was a link on the 1st page and it was posted here and I think it was an EVO Rom.

it was an inc2 ROM, and it was posted as an example for what we could have whenever we get an ics leak or release....

Why, just why?

I was just curious. Came from OG EVO and some really fast GB Roms have come out lately. Wondered how they'd fly on this hardware.

Doesn't matter. No dev would build a old OS for this phone. ICS is better in soamy ways

Well hey Eclipse. You guys in the newer models must be happy to hear that.
Sent from my Amaze 4G using xda app-developers app
Well holy crap. That halo is like so convenient. It multitasks and does everything notification wise.
I have a Nexus 4 and use PA as my main driver. Its the only redeeming quality of having a Nexus device, full support. I hang on shred of hope G2X can get Radio working on CM10.1 and Amaze get all it's bugs ironed out from HTC sources release. I don't know why they couldn't do what was done with HTC Sensation, that device has support up to the sky.
I love my old devices. Nostalgia. I bought a Sensation and going to unlock boot, flash, S=OFF, and all that good stuff then I will give it to my cousins who's been asking for an Adroid phone. Still on the fence if to part ways with the Sensation or the Amaze.

Try floating notifications in the play store. I did some alpha and beta testing for rob and he is a great dev and it is an awesome app.
He is still working on adding even more features but Try the tail version out to get a feel for it.

Should I root my EVO?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium

^This.
Also depends on what you plan on doing with your phone. If you're content with the way your phone is now, no. If you want to extend the performance of your phone and you're willing to take some time to read and learn, have at it
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Well I've rooted phones before HTC aria, Sony x10i, samsung transform, htc EVO 4g, EVO shift, and the EVO 3d, didn't get to root my LG viper but anyways, I'm bored of stock and its like implanted in me once i do it I'll start flashing rom after rom , my question is is it worth it ?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
As Fin said it depends what you are looking to do.
Also development is kinda slow right now some devs have moved on to the One but...it may pick up if/when the Evo LTE gets an update which is supposed to happen but who knows what HTC/Sprint has in mind
To answer your other question, yes, it's worth it. There are plenty of ROM's to choose from. There are custom kernels and tons of other things to customize your phone to your liking. There are also methods to gain S-off for every Hboot, so no worries there
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Wouldn't be so bad if they would go ahead and release the new update maybe wouldn't plan on rooting but they drag ass too much

142 is the latest, although there is no download link to it. You have to use SVN or the terminal emulator script to update to that version. The changes between 141 & 142 were very minor.

There is only one Sense 5 port and it's pretty much a daily driver if you don't care about Bluetooth being broken and no audio when using Netflix. Try it out.

Can't wait till Verizon releasess KitKat for the Droid.!!! Phone can deffinatley run it with zero issues with it on KitKat now.
Of course VZW is always a bit on the slow side of approving...
I think what vzw was/is doing is updating all their other newer devices first (to get people to upgrade) before they roll out the updates to us older phone
This is just what it seems to me now that they have worked on the other HTC devices we are hopefully next unless another device comes along
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app
I have zero reason to doubt that. After all it makes sense revenue-wise. Yeah the DNA is an "older" model. But it can still hang quite well with the newer ones. :good:

I'm in no rush for Verizon to push us Kit Kat. Look at some of the amazing Devs the HTC Droid DNA has. @nitsuj17 @santod040 @Zarboz , we don't need Verizon with them in the DNA forums.!!! I mean newer system files and a newer kernel with help the stability of the roms we have now and future releases. But besides that we are fine.!!
And I just joined the DNA forums but I've been in the android central forums and helped with many rims there so I have some experience with roms. And as soon as my post count goes up I might start a little something, something.!! A girl dev in the DNA forums.

how long will it take?
So.... with the HTC One max updated to KK and Droid DNA in certification stage ... how long do you think it will take to be pushed to OTA and finally in our phones?

Who knows Verizon is usually the one that causes updates to take forever. So when ever they finally feel it's ready and want to push it out is when we will see it. They said some time in April but I doubt it.
