[Q] Recover Viber Cache from SDCARD of broken phone. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there
My Xperai Mini Pro SK17i screen smashed and tried to change the screen but no luck.
When I connect it to the PC it just shows red light blinking once per second.
I have removed the 8GB sdcrad from it and I can see that there are viber backup in folder named VIBER on the sdcard root but it has only the images.
I have found another folder in SDCard\Android\DATA\com.viber.voip\CACHE
It has the following files (see attchment)
the biggest file is cache_vts_com.viber.voip.0 2.50MB and I guess it has the chat history.
I wonder if anyboy please tell me how to decrypt it?
Thanks

[Q] transfering everything from v640i to X10

OK so i just bought a X10 and my task atm is to import everything i had on my prevoius phone (SE V640i)to this one. My concern are rhe text messages and some other stuff that don't get copied on the sim card.
So my question is how do i get all the stuff copied into my new X10 ?
I managed to backup my V640i on my pc but PC companion doesn't let me sync that file with my X10 .... any ideas on how to make it happen ?
(Sry if there was alrdy a topic on this matter but i couldn't find it , that's why i made this one )
Download myphoneexplorer from the internet (the windows version). Study it carefully, plug in your v640, and transfer everything, in this order:
- contacts
- messages
- other files
Once its all on your pc, unplug the v640 and plug in the x10, and make sure it is recognisd and allowed to drop a client app onto your x10. You will need to turn debug on.
Then push your v640's content thats in myphonexplorer onto the x10, in the same order, ie contacts, messages, other files. Do it slowly. Use the help text and you'll be fine.

[Q] DOCOMO SH-04D or SH-01 system/app files

Does anybody with an SH-01 or SH-04D still have 2.3.4? I recently got the SH-04D and had done a temporary root with the shbreak/istweak apps to go in and delete some bloatware/default apps I didn't want. I deleted docomo apps, but also the address book and default email, so now when I try to add an individual contact to my main home page, the drop down comes up empty. I'm also having some issues with the notification sound not being able to be set. An error pops up, referring to process com.android.settings and a force close. Could somebody possibly zip a complete copy of all original files from the system/app folder, or is there an easier way?
connect your xperia to sony pc companion on your laptop and update the program to latest version. In support zone tab you will see update the phone software or just repair the operating system. This will do the job but it will erase all your data as well. good luck

[Q] x10 mini pro: contact extraction with screen hs

The screen of my x10 mini pro is not working any more.
It displays but not reacting while touching it.
So, can't use it anymore (not able to unlock the screen).
I would like to extract my contacts which are stored in the x10 inside it's internal memory.
PC companion is requiring to activate usb mode by modifying options, but I can't do it due to the screen out of order.
Any advices to extract my contacts ?
Is-there software able to read the x10 memory without modification on the handset ?
Thanks.

[Q] Touchscreen broken, unable to access

Hi
My mother has a stock BQ Aquaris 5 HD, probably running on 4.3
Someone spilled a chemical fluid over the phone, and it stoped working. She took it to a local shop where they tried to clean and dry it, but somehow they managed to strip off the touchscreen connector on the mainboard.
The phone actually turns on, but it is impossible to use the touchscreen. No debug was activated. No SD card was installed, so everything was on the main storage. Replacing the mainboard is not an option as the storage will be lost anyways...
I started the phone on recovery mode, allowing me to backup all the data on the SD cart, resulting in a .backup file, which i cannot manage to open in any way. I tried to use Android Backup Extractor (ABE) but it only works with .ab extensions. Changed the extension manually and it did not work either.
I request help, if anybody knows how to recover the pictures and contacts from that file, or if there is some way to enter the main storage unit with a locked screen...
thanks in advance
Anybody?

MATE 10 PRO - Files copied from PC get the current dates as date created and modified

Hi there,
For 4 weeks I am using the Huawei Mate 10 PRO. Previously I've been using a Xiaomi Mi5. I have one problem regarding the data migration. I mean - when I copy photos and videos (but it happen with all files, but I need to fix this for pictures and movies to sort them properly in Galery and other apps which allow to attach photos and videos like Whatsapp), then the files on the Internal Storage of the Mate get the current date, not the original from files. To fix this I tried use the HiSuite - import, copy with Android file transfer on Mac, robocopy on windows and the last chance was given to samba share and copy with Total Commander with Lan plugin. No of them were successful. So I have to ask you, if you know working workaround... I read a lot articles about this problem and it looks like this is not the Huawei problem, it's the Android FUSE problem. But is there any working solution for this problem? I tried to change the attributes from my PC using Exiftool, but I get an error "No privileges".
Copying files changes the file creation date. That is totally normal behaviour. Same happens when you copy files in Windows from one drive to another. And as you realized yourself it is not a Huawei issue.
The EXIF-Tool can only change embedded EXIF data in pictures but that is not changed anyway when you copy pictures from your computer to your phone or viceversa.
The problem are the apps of the phone reading the file creation date instead of the EXIF data of pictures. If there is no app to change the file creation date on the phone I think there is no way to solve this problem.
try advanced renamer for windows. if i remember right it has option to set creation date from exif info
So my tests show that only moving file from one folder to another preserve the dates. I tried to change the creation date with total commander on the phone, but i get error message Access denied! (1x).
One idea left - use the otg cable and move files from it to internal storage, but i think that this will give the same result...
