I am waiting for the keyboard/case for the Tab Pro 8.4.
One that is a keyboard but also works as the front screen protector.
Are there any good quality ones? (Not the cheap ones).
I've been searching for one as well, and as of now the only quality keyboard case is for the 12.2 inch. It's a bummer but hopefully they release something soon.

I am thinking of an alternative option now.
Buy tablet stand + logitech k810 (no case).
I can also be able to use the bluetooth keyboard for my smartphone since it supports mutiple devices (3 devices).
I then have to carry them separately but i will be putting them in one bag anyways.
What do you think?

I just got an email from Zagg promoting their keyboard case for 7" tablets and the website shows there is going to be one coming for the Tab Pro 8.4. Hope it's soon. I'll be picking up my GTP 8.4 in about 2 weeks

I found this keyboard for the Samsung tablets, the price is reasonable so it might do okay for what you need.

So it's been confirmed by Zagg that they're going to be releasing a keyboard cover/folio for the GTP 8.4?

Has it? They're planning on releasing their auto-fit line for the next size up - which is the 8.4" (8.0 to 8.9) this month.

But it's not specific to the Tab Pro, just an adjustable Bluetooth. I haven't heard anything about a folio like their iPad ones for the 8.4.
Samsung doesnt like other keyboards
Hello all,
I'm new to the Android world, (shhhh I'm really a Mac guy..LOL) But I found so much more flexibility in the androids after my work got me the new Galaxy S5. So I did some research and got the Tab Pro 8.4 and so far its a wet dream from a IT Engineer's perspective, RDP VPN and Google Docs its awesome not have to tote my Macbook around or be stuck in my office basement all day in summer to do the most basic chores.
Anywhooo....the reason for my post.
I bought all my gear on Amazon along with this really nice case from Ionic. (cant post link yet cause I'm a newbie)
Only issue is it seems Samsung has decided they don't allow other keyboards to be used for this tablet. It paired ok but I could not use the keyboard with any apps.
I bought a 99 cent app called Null Keyboard which actually allowed you to chose a diff keyboard than the Samsung, however not all the letters worked...LOL
So I sent it back yesterday. Now I been combing the web looking for fellow Pro Tab users to see if anyone cracked the mystery. I have seen other threads from people who called Samsung about this and their answer was quite shocking that the do NOT in fact support other keyboards. This to me is just crazy!!!! How can they allow accessory companies to make things for their unit an not allow it? :crying::crying::crying:
If anyone has had success with this please tell me otherwise. Love my tablet but feeling very naked without a good case or input for it.

I tried a generic Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard that I use with my IPad on the Tab Pro and it worked perfectly. Perhaps it's just the first keyboard you bought that was the issue?
Yeah, my Anker (a clone brand like Sharkk) keyboard works great. Any commodity BT keyboard should work

Has anybody seen the Advent Vega Dock being sold outside the UK? I've only seen PC World and Dixons having the dock in stock and they don't ship it to where I live...
Hi
If you locate one, please can you pm me.
Thank you
Advent Vega is UK model. Rest of the Europe call it Mobii Point of View Tegra 10". They are the same inside, only logo on the back is different.
Pov is heavier (730g) a bit,and no bluetooth, so not just label is different
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_tablet_PCs
update:
wiki updated pov feature list, now has bluetooth, only weight is different
but i would guess that the dock is the same to both tablets, i got one and it has 3 USB 1 HDMI 1 headphones (stereoplug) and a powerplug.
and it looks like this

Good to know, guess i have to trawl all stores nearby to check if we have any on shelves .. there is none on the websites and the currys store i was in the other day did a check for the dock in stock then checked pcworld stock levels and told me there was none... Given your result its worth a look i think... Failing that i may take a chance on one for the Pov Mobii 10 dock shipped from europe and see if that works..

1080p
Could someone with a dock please tell me whether it allows 1080p video playback through its hdmi socket, because as far as I am aware the vega's hdmi only outputs at the same resolution as the screen (1024*600 I think) which would mean video playback on a tv would be limited to this. The reason I am asking is because on the currys website it says in the technical specification of the dock, "connect to your tv with 1080p video playback", however I suspect that this is a inaccuracy, and that the hdmi socket on the dock is indentical in its output to that of the vega's own hdmi socket.
Thanks very much
Just picked up a dock yesterday from curries digital an crawley. dont have access to a hd tv till the w'end so will test then if I remember.
Apart from that Im happy as the USB outlets can chage my phone too

I ordered a Moga Pro I still don't have it, but found a few things, which could enhance it.
None of the things are tested, because I don't have the required gadgets, but you know.
1) A program called ZeeMouse, which makes the Moga Pro work with a Windows PC - link here
2) An Android application - USB/BT Joystick Center GOLD (requires root), which should be able to map the controller buttons to touch actions - link from playstore.
I think that these two applications make the Moga's price a little bit easier to swallow and I personally will try them as soon as possible, which could be in a few weeks.
PS. Oh I sure hope that this new Phonejoy model is of higher quality, because I have one of the first versions (the analog one) and it is so poor build and functions so bad that it is literally unusable.

I just saw this a week or two ago. I think I'll pre-order it this week :highfive:
I am also after a gamepad for my Note 3.
What is the best solution for me? I am -
1- Not rooted
2- After something which holds the Note 3
3- After something which works with emulators
Rooting is not an option for me as I use apps which will not work on rooted devices.
Those who have a gamepad, what do you recommend? I am travelling abroad in 2 weeks time and I am looking to take it with me, so I need to order asap!!!

I say the Gameklip as well. It works out of the box with the included cable. Works for emulators from Fpse to SuperGenes. The only issue is having to supply your own case to attach the clip onto. If you have any extra cases then its a good choice. If not...just get a case because its cheaper than the moga pro.

Moga Pro (or even better the newer one arriving soon).
I have one and have used more gamepads than most here and so far its the best for non-Root users.
I can confirm that the new Dualshock 4 is working via USB OTG with our devices, I have not gotten it to work via bluetooth or the sixaxis app, although it works fine with my PC via bluetooth. I will let you know more as I figure stuff out.

Thanks mate, I've always enjoyed your reviews. I have decided I will be getting the Moga Pro. I was due to go away but that may have now changed due to some unforeseen circumstances, so if I don't go then I'll wait until the new Moga pad is available and I'll get that instead.
Is there a gameklip equivalent that doesn't require a tacky strip? I don't want to have to swap cases every time I want to game...I just wanted a clamp or some other mechanic to hold the phone and I much prefer using a PS3 controller over Moga's

Definitely get a Moga Pro, either the new one which can charge your phone while you play, or the cheaper older model (which is also great, I have both).
Get moga power pro! Just got mine! Totally worth it!
I use a PS3 controller with a GameKlip. Love that setup, and how easy it is to customize button configuration using the Sixasis app! I will consider getting the Samsung GamePad a a well though. It looks nice, just wish it was still white like its predecessor

Sorry, about the quality of the image.

So does this mean unkown brand gamepad controllers might would have some compatibility issues compared to Moga? So it's not like the PC where you just slap on any controller and it will work? So it depends if the app developer can support the type of gamepad you use?
Also.
What advantages would the official Note 3 gamepad have over other popular gamepads such as MOGA?
so is this better than Moga?
Is it possible to use this with emulators?
OT: by the way, do you have to be rooted to use Moga?
Moga is great when it connects and/or is supported. It is great for emulators. Sixaxis app is better for apps that dont support 3rd party stuff, HID or aren't great with touch controls since you can always build a custom input screen with snapshot and profile for a game.

six axis is still a great app especially for games like the amazing spiderman that don't have moga support. But I honestly like the moga hero power better. Touch emulation is awesome and I did find an app that let's you set up touch emulation with the moga and the developer is pretty awesome too. Here's the play store link

Hey all, I know i'm kinda late to the party, but I found a nice little Bluetooth keyboard that has an integrated stand. It works really well for the Tab Pro 10.1 even though it's technically made for the iPad.
Here's a link to my review (with pics). http://www.amazon.com/review/R2XJOV3VU2D9EX/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00HAZOSWY
Looks like a great option. I wish I had found this thread months ago. I've had my Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 for almost a full year now, and while I love the performance, functionality and portability of it, I agree that it has been missing a keyboard.
It seems Samsung has abandoned the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1. After months of searching I could not find a single custom keyboard option. Instead I could only find general/basic Android keyboards.
I've tried several Belkin options and some Logitech. Which do okay. Now I'm waiting on a keyboard from WayTools called the Textblade. It is a stand alone option, that is super thin and portable. Since I travel for work and run between classrooms at my University Portable is very important to me. I cannot fit my tablet, books, notebooks, keyboard, laptop, mouse, and etc. So I'm cutting down removing the 5 lbs laptop and 1 lb Belkin keyboard for the aforementioned option.
Thanks for making this post.
You're welcome.
Is that Textblade keyboard made specifically for the Tab Pro or is is a generic Android device?
Unfortunately it is generic but portability is the main selling point. See https://waytools.com/hands-on
Funny, I just pre-ordered a TextBlade as well. Looking forward to it!
Looking for a remote really for my Shield K1, can't seem to find anything I really want. I am living hotel life for 3 months and want the remote mainly to control Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, but am open to setting up some emulators. I dont want the Shield controller but need something decent. My DS4 is so laggy and not really worth the time. I was hoping someone has used the NES30 or NES30 Pro controller. Please let me know if you have. Otherwise open to cheap remote alternatives Thanks.
Edit: My curiosity won. I paid $30 for it on GearBest, I'll report in if anyone wants to know how it works with the K1.

NES30 Pro
As a soon to be Nividia Shield K1 owner, I would love to know whether this controller works well with the K1. I'm not a big fan of the official controller by Nvidia being so bulky and a bit too much for my taste. This seems like the perfect size and I love the retro look behind it all. Please share how well this controller works and whether all function buttons have some sort of response (dislike it when you press a button on a controller and it just doesn't do anything). Thanks in advance!
Should be arriving next week. I'll post my findings.
Do you happen to have a Nexus Player? I wonder if it would work with that too.
I use the 8Bitdo Zero on my Shield Tablet, http://8bitdo.com/zero/ so there should be no reason that the NES80 one wouldn't work.

Just curious.
How well does the Emu-Touchschreen software work?
I am curious as I have the Shield TV. If it works I could drag the controls with a mouse. The demos look very responsive?
Is there a library of templates?
Does it drop out?
Thanks.
would love to see an update in this thread .. how is the gamepad working out for you ?
I got it late last week. Connected right up and is usable out of the box like a mouse or nexus player remote. I do have a Nexus player, but I wont be home to test it out for a month. I'll be doing some emulators and some games later this week and can report back on how button mapping works. Overall very happy with it so far. It's fast, no noticeable lag, and didn't require any special software to connect up. Worth the wait coming from overseas and definitely worth $30.
*Currently not rooted and on Stock Rom.
I have also pulled the trigger on this gamepad and I must say it is very enjoyable. I have used snes9x to play some classic SNES games and it works very well. I did have to customize some buttons but it was very easy to get it to work. The only problem I came across was the lack of being able Tod program certain Dpad controls such as down+left or up+right. I'm not sure if there's a way to do this. If anyone knows please share. But other than that it works nicely. I also played some actual game apps such as Leo's Fortune and it was pretty awesome and enjoyable. Adding to that I plugged in my tablet to my TV via mini HDMI and had a great time playing on my 42" TV. Definitely recommended!!!

The other problem with this controller is that ABXY button layout is not similar to every other after market ones. If you look closely the X Y and A B are reversed.

hey guys is this controller any good for fps games like modern combat, all the bluetooth controllers ive tried have horrible deadzones on the analogue sticks which make fps games rubbish, and how does the nivida game mapper work with it because its horrible with a ps3 controller
I've been using one with the K1 shield for the last couple of days, it has worked fine with Doom 3 and Halflife 2/portal.
As people have said before the layout of the buttons is weird but it doesn't take long to get used to, and the button mapper works fine for apps that don't support a controller( I'm still struggling with Brothers though). But after playing most of these games on my shield portable I'd say its definitely worth the money and not much different from my portable. I'm going to try halflife on my big screen tonight. I mainly bought the K1 to use with my phantom but with this control I'd say the portable will be for sale soon.
I'm in possession of new APK for android Emutouch mode. Tested on galaxy S8 and confirmed working unlike old v1.6.
PM for download
Preordered the newer version that works w/ the Switch with the 4 shoulder buttons. Cost way more though... lol Can't wait to use it on my devices especially my Switch.

It is like it should be. If you search for Nintendo button layout you will see that it is the same.

There is no new/old version. Support for the Switch is firmware related. You can update your 8bitdo controller to new firmware and get it to work with Switch - I can confirm that.
Sorry for double post. I do not used multi quote it was my mistake.
I'm referring to the SNES version and not the NES version.

Sorry, what I meant by other aftermarket are the ones like Moga, Steel Series, ipega, where the bottom where left button is X, top is Y, right is B, bottom is A.
So basically this is really only good for using on Nintendo emulators.

I wouldn't say it's only good for nintendo emulators. Strictly because I've used it for other things, and on my pc as well. If you can ignore what it's labeled, it's like any other controller. Swap them around if the emulator defaults it to the letter. 99% of the time we do the set up anyways for the controllers.
I use FC30 pro but it's impossible to play to modern combat
