I've question and hope xda master help me :angel:
Why i can't use Telkom Flexi cdma-card? call and sms okey, but i can't use data. Even 1x data signal not showing up
firts i guest must have enabling APNs menus, but until i tried diffence rom..not solving my problem.
But if i using Smartfren cdma-card, 1x and evdo data signal showing. even i using stock rom.
Note: I've no problem with gsm-card such Telkomsel, XL, Mentari and else. Everything its ok

i think mainly b'cause Flexi use manual input parameters (username and password for data) instead of ota. because of this u have to manually input those parameters (username and password for data) in apn.
but the problem is, as far as i know u cant add apn while in cdma mode, but you can enter apn while at gsm mode.
for that reason i have to change from cdma provider (smartfren) to gsm provider (indosat) when i flash to 4.3 based rom.

i also had this problem in india so i used hidden menu to enable data on Note2.

Yes..now im using gsm card. 2 weeks ago when i using rom that allowed to input APN, but nothing happen. still not working.

ok, i'll try to contact them
have anyone able to using indonesian cdma (flexi) on 4.3 based rom ? I got no data (no evdo and 1x) while on 4.3 rom, but voice and sms still work without problem
but, if I restore my 4.1.2 backup rom, it able get the data connection again (evdo 3g and 1x)
help please.

Ah, sorry, I'm only aware of the main European network settings, hopefully someone else will be able to provide you with the settings you need.
Does that network provider not have a website with the correct connection settings for you to enter manually? I've googled and found this website...

You have your Data Connection enabled, right? Another think you could try is switching to EDGE to see if it works with that.
Connection on, tried 2g also...
Maybe carrier has control over tether ability?

Does your carrier allow tethering? Have you tried another SIM?
my girlfriend has a 710 and tethering works on her device, took her sim and got the same error...(i'm a qa engineer and already thought of these options so i guess is a hardware problem)

You can also try a hardreset. There were some changes in the firmwares that are only active after a hard reset.
i find it really stupid that i have to hard reset it...that;s not why i bought the phone..

Well, I got some new options that allow me to configure call forwarding and the SMS charset... I doubt that it is a hardware problem. Your data connection works properly on the phone?

Is the phone sim unlocked & are you using it on a different service provider? Can you send MMS messages? I suspect WP is looking at some hard coded APN settings when activating internet sharing, & not the one entered under the cellular apn option.
Yes i can MMS messages, but i do have another problem with it that makes me think the celullar modem is faulty....i use it on 2g and sometimes when i receive a call the sound is all distorted when i answer for about 5-6 seconds and then i ca hear the person on the other end...this happens form the day i started using it...

Few days ago I bought new S2 for my girlfriend, put in a sim card, then got a message from operator with internet and mms configuration, I installed it and after that I noticed that mobile data internet connects only on EDGE, but not 3g. ROM is stock.
Any suggestions how to fix it ?

But have you already changed the setting in Settings>Mobile Network?
You need to change the preferred network type.

Yes, you can select 2G only/3G only/2G+3G.

1/8gb 2100 UK model
Omate Truesmart 20140328.182336 v2.0
No changes to stock
No pc used.
I've turned everything on in sim management. Data connection is saying Vodafone UK, 3G is enabled, network mode is auto, APN set to wap. vodaphone . The only thing i can spot is in Sim information, default settings are all greyed out apart from data connection which is bright white and states vodafone uk. Im receiving texts and voice calls, network bars are showing on status bar but no E, G, 3G. Can someone help please as ive tried two different sim cards with no results. Cheers
Double check vodaphone that the APN settings are correct. AT&T users are having an issue where it APN says AT&T but the APN settings themselves are wrong.
Sorry I don't have a patch ready.

Hi again found them but to be honest not sure how to set them on the truesmart can you tell me where they are
They're in
Settings >wireless & networks> more> mobile networks >access point names >contract wap
Then fill out details correctly for each heading

Same here, I've been through a hard reset, rewriting all the APN settings, copying them over from another Vodafone device, and the wretched data connection icon just has an inscrutable tiny blue blob on it. SMS works, but it's a paperweight if it has to be tethered all the time.

Think we need @mcteague to state exactly what settings he has entered. He did send me a PM earlier so thank you however even after trying the settings listed under the link he sent (they were slightly different to other settings I found on Vodafones website) it still would not work.
Exact steps and details would be greatly appreciated and also if you have flashed any patches etc....

I havent flashed anything mate, this was while on complete stock. One setting was entering PAP, as it was NOT SET, i think that did it on mine. Anyway im on Lokifish's rom now and that contains most apn settings.

Thanks, adding PAP authentication seems to have resolved it for me; I also added WAP to the APN types in addition to default and MMS.

Mine will still not work I have tried 4 or 5 different settings found at various places including 2 different settings for Contract connections on Vodafones own Website. Without sounding like broken record can someone PLEASE post the exact settings they have entered, all of them?

Which Rom are you using, the 1900/2100 security patched one or the 1900 rooted one? If the latter, any issues on the 2100 etc...
