so, are you using a custom or stock rom? are you rooted? do you have any mod? it would be great if you can add some information like android version too
Whatever, if you don't have any mod or custom rom, it's maybe an app who is making bad function.
Sorry but my english it's not so good
I have noticed this too, come back to my phone to see it illuminated,
stock ICS rom generic.
+1 with this problem and today it happened few times at least!
hello i have the same problem with my XPERIA U. full stock..non rooted..

Yes it's the widget I too had this problem and it was the HD widget that was acting culprit. So just disable automatic location service. If you don't have this widget do this for the widgets u have installed that needs location for example weather widgets. Hope this helps. Regards.

Hi there, my WT19i behaves a bit odd when concerning to charge while the phone is off. If it's off, when I insert the charger, it turns itself on; if the charger is in whith the phone on, everything works normally; if I turn it off with the charger plugged, it doesn't charge after it turns off. Do you experience the same? Is it the kernel's or the ROM's fault? Cheers.
This is the rom I'm using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702952
Overall the best and most bug-free bar the stock rom, but it has that problem and a needs a bit of small fine-tuning in some details (MIUI Weather not working, backlight panel toggle can't be removed and does nothing, no emoticons in SMS, Facebook integration in the contacts doesn't work). Can't wait to be able to post in the development threads :good:
It's within the ROM. I'm using exmiui, and don't have that problem.

Oh, what a pity... I dumped recently ExMIUI for this one because this has a lot less bugs and the development will continue and updates are coming every week, while the development of ExMIUI is a lagging way behind and it's said that will be abandoned. I hope they iron out this bug, then...
About those programs that have no use, such as:
- the MIUI network assistant, that doesn't work with non-chinese providers,
- the Permission Manager, that does nothing, because it's superseeded by the Superuser APK;
- the Notes program that is in chinese and anyway I already have the Myphonexplorer Notes for that;
- the Torch program, that is irrelevant since I can use the flash as a torch by just clicking in the notification area;
- the "Multiling Keyboard" that becomes useless when we can use the standard ICS keyboard;
- the Music program that is superseeded by the Walkman app in this ROM;
- that thing written in chinese that seems some kind of firewall
Can I use Titanium Backup to remove them without breaking the ROM or damaging stability / functionality? Thanks in advance.
What in chinesse?
I don't see any chinesse language except the downloaded theme.
Number 1,3,5,6, u can remove it.

Thank you, it was solved when I upgraded do MIUI GB 2.7.13. Now I can't find where I chose to turn on/off the Bravia Engine and xLoud, where is it? Thanks in advance.
This is strange but the headphone icon no longer appears when I plug in headphones. Everything works as it should, other than the icon.
I'm using 4.1.2, but it has happened to me on the stock ICS rom as well. How do I fix this? I'd like to make sure the headphone is in before I press play, otherwise sometimes music blasts out of the wrong hole.

Okay hey guys I've been looking at my battery stats on bbs and apparently audio out 2 or media server as it's showing on gsam battery monitor is keeping my phone awake for hours at a time.it's driving me crazy I've looked on the internet all day and I just can't find a fix for it does anyone know anyway to fix this battery drain? Btw I'm using wanamlite 4.7 and the latest boeffla kernel.

Are you using any radio apps or media applications? Audio out goes with a lot of apps that play sounds..

I use tunein and it gives me both wakelocks. Yiu may wish to check in the wanam thread to see if anyone else suffers similar symptoms

Isn't an issue ... is related to the sound system.
Sound on tap , sound in keyboard , sound on lock screen etc ... including sound notification for incoming alerts ... all of these keeps the audio 2 wakelock on top
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I might have found a final solution for this "audio out 2" battery drain. I tried lots of stuff and nothing worked, this battery drain kept showing up "randomly" sometimes it was lasting very long and sometimes it would disapear just like that. Ok so now I know it was not random. I found the solution by accident. So when you click volume up or down button the volume slider shows up with a settings icon. When u click the settings icon U get view of 4 separate sliders for different system events. All U have to do is set all of those sliders to maximum and problem solved. I suppose it must be some sound settings bug that shows up when one of the sliders is set to different volume than others. In my case the media volume was lower than the others. I didn't try it, but maybe if you set all the sliders to exactly 50 there would be also no battery drain. Also I have in call volume set to max, U can access it only during a call by volume up or down keys.
Could sombody try my solution and check if it works for them? Maybe some devs could also check it out to prevent it form happening on custom roms. And the most important thing my setup is international GS3 with stock 4.1.2 xxemb1 firmware, i duplicated the problem and solution on stock xella xelkc firmwares also.
Hope I helped.
Do you have, by any chance, Viber installed? I found it being the culprit. It was keeping the device awake and always a 200Mhz, so the battery drained drastically fast. I removed and now it seems to be fine. There's already a similar topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919126
So kamylo, the sliders shouldn't make any difference and anyway I'm nit gonna stay with all sounds on max... Check here for more info http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2669688/all

Powerful friends. You are my idol. If you have time, can you help port MIUI on stock? Hah. I will try this colorful ROM ASAP.
works great and multilenguage on spanish works fine some apps in jap
Most functions are ready and stable.
Except that bugs in CM4.2.2, such as the loudly call volume, as it is in MIUIV5 on CM4.2.2.
Is that possible port color OS based on CM10(4.1.2). As I known, current I717 only has CM10 for stable usage although
it has random reboot.
One more, can the soft virtual key can be truned off? As I717 already has real touch key and the virtual key occupies
the screen and no much usage.
I don't see color OS has more apps and functions than MIUI, but it occupies 400M, why?
As I see, it is another style ROM, but not powerful as MIUI it is.
I check that the color OS is already in V2.0.0 (published on 2014.4.4), but current for I717 is V1.0.0.
I had a bit of trouble getting through the "welcome" screen due to the language but after using it for a day the rom feels pretty stable. I have had one problem though. I'm unable to listen to my headphones through the 3.5mm jack. I get a bit of static feedback through the headphones when I plug them in but the music doesn't play through them. Tried the stock music app and Play Music and no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? Also an option to hide the visual buttons at the bottom would be nice since they take up screen space. Themes work pretty well and look great also.
Overall, I like the animations and my phone runs pretty smooth. Just those little things I noticed.

I didn't check the headphone on 3.5mm jack. Just have a fresh try on this ROM and then switch back to MIUIV5 quickly.
Did you notice the call volume issue? The volume is loudly and you need to press speaker for once back then it back to normal. But it will reproduce again in next call.

Yes I was able to test it out and the first time I called it was pretty loud. I turned the call volume down during the dial tone and the recipient didn't hear an echo anymore through the ear speaker. I hung up and called back. They always hear an echo on the speakerphone but not on the in-ear speaker. I rebooted my phone and tried again and they didn't hear an echo. As long as my call volume is 50% or below they don't hear their voice echoing. I only called one person though so it could be different for another. This was after about 20 minutes of testing.
Rooted by installing flashable supersu binary update. Worked. Installed an incompatible xposed module and it crashed launcher. Love the music place and photo place on launcher screens.(launcher in general was sweet) Would like to get rid of nav bar and receive english interface for color os specific settings. (Example: accounts ask for phone #, name etc in english but agreements and descriptions are in another language making them useless if not deceiving.
Edit: Capacitive keys stayed on as well.

Here's to the beginning:http://en.miui.com/thread-18061-1-1.html
Played around with this again. Showed it off to some co-workers. Didn't kill it with xposed this time. Lol. The following sign in tip helped immensely.
"After the Google sign in screen, ignore the green and blue buttons and press the smaller white characters below. Then uncheck the box on the next screen and hit the big green button."
Just the fore mentioned issues with the earphone plug not issuing sound (sound continues to output through and speaker) and lit capacitive keys bother me.
