[Q] do I need to update - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hey guys im curious if I need to update in order to update
The thing is I own a C6806 unlocked in the US and I haven't received the 4.4 update yet not even via pc companion
The thing is it only shows the. 136 Which I decided not to perform because of the bugs
So do I need to update to. 136 first?

Well, you can flash the ftf file instead of waiting of the update.

Every ROM has its bugs so be not afraid of them, take the improvement and learn to appreciate it. For your case, that would be no problem to skip it.

How do I update build number?

My boyfriend and I both just got xperia x10s. We both did a one click root and we both have R2BA020 as our build numbers. How can we get up to 26 or whatever the latest one is? Thanks
Hi.
Google "SEUS" and update your phones, but you will have to run the one click root app again.
Hi going through Seus is a difficult i'll tell you a simple method go into settings then click about phone on the top you will find software update just click it then you will see update now just click that whoa! your X10 will be updated to the latest 026 i hope it will work for you coz it worked for me and my cousin, regards.
If OTA doesn't work try SEUS cos updates are not always available OTA.
SEUS and the phone updater both say we are up to date...
If you are with Rogers, then you won't be able to update to the latest firmware. You will have to flash another .26 rom.
To flash to the latest firmware and get the root, follow these instructions:

C6843 (Brazil) 14.3.A.0.681 yet?

Anyone from Brazil got the KitKat update for our C6843 yet? I've checked a few days ago, from the last version (14.2.A.1.136), with locked bootloader and unrooted, and nothing. Now I don't want to reflash my phone again just to check. If it's already available, I'll create an FTF for you. Thanks.
I've been checking daily through OTA and the PC Companion and still not a sign.
update
I contact Sony and they said that its coming, should take a little more days.
Anyway because of ex sd card limitations i maybe give up and dont install it.

Thanks, and I agree with you, this firmware has some issues, maybe in the next release Sony will make it right. In the meantime we can use monx (if you like stock and don't mind losing digital TV), which has some nice added features and remove this external SD card limitation, or a CM11-based firmware. I'm personally using Carbon Rom and I'm loving it.
14.3.A.0.757?
Fala galera... Anybody got the newest 14.3.A.0.757 update for the C6843? Last time I checked, a couple of days ago, not even the first KK release (14.3.A.0.681) was available, and I'm getting tired of flashing stock + relocking bootloader just to check if Sony cares about us Brazilian users (so far it seems they don't give a sh*t).
If the update is available let me know, and I'll create an FTF here.
It is finally out! I'm downloading the 757 update through OTA right now.
It took some time, but at least we're going straight to the latest version!

[Q] Xperia Tablet Z2 (SGP512) - Still no 4.4.4 Update

All -
Is it just me or is the 4.4.4 Update still not available for USA Z2 Tablets? I got the update on my Z2 phone a while back but no go on the tablet. I have the SGP512 Firmware and I get the fated "Your device already has the latest available system updates" when I try the Update Center.
I have also tried connecting my tablet to a PC but still no luck. I thought these updates came out a month ago? Anyone else experiencing this or am I missing something? I have seen a few dated threads on this subject but no conclusive update as to whether this update has finally been rolled out for the US Z2 tablets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No One?
So everyone has 4.4.4 ?
I still havent seen it. Bought the tablet for the remote play feature and over a month with no word. No response when I ask Sony. I love the company but very disappointed in them now.
You can check your region/carrier with XperiFirm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142
Looks like North America is still on 17.1.2.A.0.314...
If there is no update for your device on specific region and you want to update to latest firmware you can just use other region ftf-file for your device and flash it via Flashtool. Differences are more or less in bloatware that come with firmware. Also it´s reported that because only difference between SGP511 and SGP512 is memory size also SGP511 firmwares work fine with SGP512 device.
Ah thanks..

Thanks all for the responses. I am glad to know i wasn't crazy. I will wait till the 15th and if I don't have it then I will go the route of switching to another region to see if I can get it that way. Much appreciated.

I had an update for my SGP512 to 23.0.1.A.4.30 this morning, here living in DE
By th way you can force download an update image using Flashtool. A simple guide is available here:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/09/01/flashtool-version-0-9-18-1-allows-you-to-download-xperia-firmware-files/
I'm in Canada and I got the 23.0.1.a.4.30 notification last night. I'm updating through PC companion right now. I'm completely stock.
It seems I was not the only one to get it in North America: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57232943&postcount=80
I live in US and got notification that I had a download available on the 5th. I just upgraded via update on tablet this morning with no issues. Also, I was rooted but not unlocked and was able to keep root (SuperSU Survival Mode)

[Q] No OTA after rooting

Hi, so I have Z2 on 5.0.2 and I've rooted my phone about a month ago with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/root-t3108230. And now, when the 5.1 update was released I can't update because my phone says it's up to date. I've tried connecting to PC and update through PC companion but same result occurred.
Now before you start saying that I won't be able to update through OTA because I have dual recovery, I can remove the recovery and do full unroot can't I? But that's currently not my problem because I won't get the OTA anyway.
BTW, my friend (same country, same phone) received the update 2-3w weeks ago...
So, my question is.. Is the fact that I've rooted my phone affecting OTA? And if so, can I just unroot and then I will receive the update?
Or just install a rooted 5.1 zip in recovery? Pretty sure this has been talked about over and over and over and over and over............

Well, I've read that, but 1. I heard about some people having issues with prerooted roms and 2. I wasn't really sure if I could with the guide I followed. I guess I'm gonna try it then...
You can always flash a generic ftf via flashtool, it is an unmodified stock firmware file, no root etc..

Xperia C5 Ultra Marshmallow Update

Guys, I need help. I can't update my xperia c5 ultra . Basically I never got OTA update but I decided I'm just going to update it through my PC with XPERIA Companion. The problem is that when I plug in the device, xperia companion just displays the message and says that my phone is up to date but it clearly isn't because its running Android 5.1. I've tried everything, and after maybe 50 tries message "new undefined software update is available" appeared but before I could do anything it just closed itself ?
Flash manually
It's not yet released for all countries.
U have to wait for couple of days to get it.
Or else you can download the firmware from
xperiablog . net
and scroll down and you will find a post telling c5 receiving Marshmallow
And flash it manually by Flashtool software.

You'll have to wait a bit more for the OTA, I'm from Mexico (E5506 from Iusacell-AT&T) and got the update just 3 days ago, you can use xpericheck to know when your update is available.
