I'm a user of Galaxy Player in Republic of Korea.
Both Galaxy Player U.S. Model (G.P. 4.0, 5.0) and G.P. Korea model (YP-GB1, GB70) had Gingerbread 2.3.6 but there are a lot of problems.
First, Do you know about Samsung MP3Player's awesome Sound Effect Technology SoundAlive™? And do you guys know that the SoundAlive in your G.P. U.S. model and Korea model(Gingerbread) is a fake?
The real SoundAlive is in Froyo, and it provides a fantastic Sound Effect. It has Equalizer(has 7 pitches control of level -10~10dB),
Concert Hall effect(Level&Size 0~3),
3D&Bass control(Each level 0~4),
Clarity&High Pitch Upscaler(Clarity 0~2, and High Pitch : On, off).
So I really want G.P.'s developers to recover G.P. Ginger's SoundAlive.
Because U.S. model and korea model's ROM may be very similar, when you succeed porting froyo SoundAlive to U.S model, you can also succeed porting it to korea model.
If there is someone who want to try, I can give you froyo firmware, library file or you can download it from opensource.com. (there is gb1, gb70 froyo source).

Samsung has done an excellent job delivering the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Galaxy S5, turning a new page in the book of Software Updates. We already know that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be provided to all the galaxy flagship devices including the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, but it seems that Samsung might be planning to show a little love to its mid range galaxy owners also. In a new report from our sources at Samsung, it has been indicated that Five Mid Range devices are also being considered for the Lollipop 5.0 update. The devices that were lucky enough to make it are – Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy Mega 2 and Galaxy Grand Prime.

My sm-g7105 hasn't received the 4.4 update yet.
Do you think the touchwiz nature ux 2.5 would be upgraded to 3.0?

24.80 mb update fixed the bugs but no lollipop for grand 2
Guys 24.80 mb update was a clever update by samsung as they were planning for big os upgrade for this device but due to huge number of devices releasing every year, hence they were unable to provide the upgrade and just sorted the bugs with this minor update. Since Lollipop was released to the Galaxy Alpha, would it be possible to port the rom over to the Galaxy Light? It would be cool to have Touchwiz's Lollipop on the phone.
Recently samsung has released its new model s7 and s7 edge. It has android marshmallow installed in it already. I saw the features on Android marshmallow and was amazed by it. The notification panel of samsung s7 is white and blue. I wanted that same notification panel on my note 4 too. Currently my note 4 has green and blue notification panel. I've seen on Internet that notification panel wont upgrade even if i get android marshmallow on my note 4. I want that white and blue notification panel!! Can someone please help me out. Thankyou.

install this rom, it is very good, it is a note 5 port rom, and trust me it is better than original touchwiz for note 4.

Hey Can you help me out here please. I'm new to this group and everything. I have a non rooted phone and dont want to root my phone. The link which you sent me, Does it require root? Will it affect my note 4? I dont know much about rooting and roms and all. Please help. Thank you.
