No, dude. Your backup is not deleted
Thank NowenUI very much about your reply! But my phone (Htc one X+) don't have microSD card slot. It's only a Internal Memory 64GB. Everything had saved on it. I still have a concern

Don't worry we all have the HOX+ so we know what we are saying.
I did have my concern in the beginning however, once you select "Format System" "Format Data" Format Cache and Dalvik " none of your files stored in the SDCard will be destroyed.

Let me tell ya something,
1- No S-Off for HOX+ , so when you flash a rom you have to connect the phone to the pc and fastboot flash boot boot.img , guides on how to do so can be found here
2-Sadly the process of unlocking the bootloader (which lets you install a custom recovery which comes before actually rooting) must sadly erase every single thing in your internal storage, however this is a one time process, after that changing roms wont erase any data. Sadly there is no way around it.
Just copy your music/pics to the pc and your contacts are auto synced to google contacts, thats the best you can do.

Hello everyone,
I had previously rooted my original evo a while back and recently got the new evo lte, and thought "Oh I can root this all by myself." Big mistake
Okay, so, I made sure to unlock it using the HTC dev. Then downloaded Rom Manager and tried to put the new cm10 rom but for some reason it was coming up with sd errors. So, I looked up what could possibly be the cause behind that, which I thought was the previous Rom Manager data from the old evo. So I deleted it and well had the same problem. I also made sure to do the Hboot fastboot thing too.
Then I download the TWRP recovery and things took a turn for the worst. Now my external/internal storage is unreadable to twrp, ironically so, I can still use the USB for the sd.
I tried other roms, but it won't load them
Now, my os is gone and I just don't know what to do. At very least I can still use fastboot, but I really just unsure how I can well make it work.
so stat wise it says
tampered/unlocked
S-ON RL
Hboot 1.15
Radio 1.05.11.0606
OpenDSP-v25. 1.032.0405
I am also running a mac.
So, if anyone can set me in the right direction, that would be super.
For one reason or another some users have problems flashing cmx and corrupting internal. Boot to twrp and mount as USB then format it in OSX.

Thank you for replying. So I want to mount the internal storage and format it in Fat32?
Also, when I go to the mounting menu, it will not let me press "Mount Internal".
However, I can mount internal storage using USB storage method, I don't get it...
Selecting mount as usb storage is all you need to do, at the very least you should be able to do that, then format, fat 32 is the default so there is no need to specify fat 32
Format the top one, correct?
Sorry for the late reply, that should be it
No, Thank you.
So, I did reformat. It still cannot find the internal storage/SD storage.
So, can I push RUU through fastboot to return it to a functional state. All this for Jellybean, haha
I had almost the same thing happen to me over the weekend for the first time. I was about to reformat it in twrp and that worked great for me. So give that a try before you run a ruu

I already reformat the internal and it made no different. I also cannot reformat within twrp, it just says cannot find and fails.
I think I've misunderstood, if you reformatted and can not access memory from aosp Rom try flashing the sd rewrite fix
swap internal/external links

No no, I apologize. This is all terribly confusing.
So I will just fastboot it through terminal

I don't know exactly know how I am going to do that, since the recovery does not recognized the internal/external storage. When I mounted via USB and put the zip on there, I cannot find it within the recovery.

Yes. Sadly I don't think reformatting did anything. At this point, I am unsure what to do. Can I even still flash a RUU?

I'm coming into this late but I recently experienced corrupted internal storage while running cmx as well. While I could not choose to mount the external storage, I somehow was able to select that bubble when in the restore menu. I restored an old meanrom and it rebuilt the internal storage despite losing the data. Not sure if this info will help you at all, but figured I would share. Good luck.

When I was able to flash a new rom [as I am now unable to really access my sd card] it would install it, however, it would boot past the the splash screen and would go black. I didn't think I had to flash the kernel before hand, perhaps that was my problem.
I've been flashing roms to my phone a lot lately and was thinking about restoring my phone by formatting/wiping everything possible using TWRP 2.4.4.0. I have seen the options available in one of the menus and wanted to know which ones I should select in order to safely wipe everything from it. I'm currently running Jelly'Beans' - Build 12 with a 40 GB sd card attached. I'm also backing all of my stuff up to dropbox so I will have everything safe for the keeping.
Any recommendations or steps I should take to get this done?
Thanks

I was just wondering if it would be OK to wipe "System", "External Storage", "Internal Storage" & "Format Data". I really want to wipe this thing squeaky clean and start off fresh. I'm kinda assuming that if I do all four mentioned above that basically the only thing left on my phone would be TWRP. I will then need to put a ROM on my sd card and then install it. Is that correct?
Thanks for your reply s10sdeville..... :good:

I know the first three are Ok, but I don't know about format data. Yes you will need a way to put a ROM on your phone. Your SdCard is as good a way as any.
Make sure you have a good nandroid backup in case something goes wrong

When you say memory, you are referring to the storage space right? HTC One doesn't have an sd card slot, so are you looking to wipe out all the data in the phone, including the rom, data, system, etc?
The files you want to delete, which path is it located? Or how do you tell that it's still there?
Yes it's internal memory..I'm using file explorer I still can see the files even though I wipe it already.

I've been able to delete any files that I transferred to the phone, though I haven't tried wiping the entire phone. I am assuming that you're rooted; without root you can't get to certain areas of the phone or you might not have rights to delete those files. Also, file explorer app itself may be limited. Try the the app: Root Browser.
I guess I'm not understanding what your goal is... if you try to wipe the entire phone, then file explorer will get wiped too right? Are you trying to return the phone and want to remove any personal information? Give me an example of the path of the file that you are trying to delete but keeps coming back.
You can also try booting into recovery (if you have a custom recovery installed) and format system, data, cache, etc.
I have a T-mobile HTC Amaze running Android Revolution with 4ext recovery. Recently my phone lost cell signal and would not pick it up again. I tried wiping data/cache/dalvik and reinstalling the Android Revolution ROM but the problem is still there. After reinstalling the ROM twice the wifi won't turn on and just says ERROR. I tried going back into 4ext and now it started to give me an error "can't mount /internal_sdcard" when trying to choose zip from sdcard.
Anyone has any idea what's going on?
Thanks

Ok dude I think I know what's going on, then outlook doesn't look too bright either. It looks like your internal sd became corrupted and now it can't mount. So back up your internal sd, reformat, and put your stuff back in and see if it helps.
If that doesn't help I guess you just had a bad luck Brian moment. This internal sd problem happened to me twice already.
For the wifi error, that's probably because you dirty flashed ARHD over a perfectly fond ARHD. You should have just airplane mod'd it for a while or rebooted. When you wipe the cache don't dirty flash the entire rom for one simple problem. When you reboot after you wipe the cache, it just takes a minute to rebuild the 'blocks. '

Well when I connect the phone via usb, it shows up on my computer but none of the files I had show up in the drive, including the zip for the ROM. I most likely lost all my stuff but that's okay. How do I reformat my internal sd at this point?
I tried to do a clean install of ARHD by doing a complete format inside 4ext, maybe something went wrong along the way. So If I can get my internal sd to work, can I format data/cache/dalvik and reinstall the rom? will that fix the problem?
Thanks for your help

Ok the way to format the internal sd is in 4ext. I remember it being somewhere in the wipe section. Choose format sd then internal sd.
Here's a tip when flashing, use format all partitions except sd. This is better than wiping cache then dalvik then data. This method clears of everything but it doesn't touch your sd. This is how to comoletely clean install roms without errors in flashing.
And if after you flash it and see no bars, T-mobile is probably having a bad connection or doing renovations to their towers or something.

Store/install the Games/apps files on the larger part of the memory (IE. SD Card) and have them run from that location.
I know the system apps can't be moved but almost any game or app can be.
I was once able to move them freely but I screwed up my phone and ended up whipping it and starting from scratch. :crying:

Dude... The whole purpose of people moving apps from internal phone storage to an SD Card is to free up space on the internal storage... by moving them to an EXTERNAL SD card (ie removable)
Since these phones don't have an external SD, all you're doing is moving your apps from internal storage to (drum roll please...) Internal Storage!!!
So basically... you're moving an app from the "Program Folders" area to... well... anywhere BUT that folder, but keeping it on the same hard drive. Make sense?

Apparently I am not getting my point across this is the HTC One X+ section right...
There are two sections on the solid state "hard drive" one is referred to as the SD Card which is allocated 50+ gigs the other section is system storage which is only allocated 2+/- Gigs.
Now I want games/apps to install to the SD card section not the system section which it dose by default.
I know this can be done as I mentioned previously I had it configured to do this but I can't remember how nor can I find anything (apps/tutorials) that will get me back to said configuration.
I hope this is a bit clearer.

No mate it doesn't. Unless your rooted you don't even have write access to /system/.
All apps and data will go on the /data/ partition. The "mock" SD card is located in /data/media/ or /data/media/0 which is just a folder on the main /data/ partition.

Try going to /data/apps/ and checking if you will find white files that end with .odex
Apps that have that will most probably be the ones affected by that error. The .odex file is created if you have "lucky patcher" installed . If you do not have this app or haven't found any odex files then ignore what I just said.

Try to wipe all including the data and do factory reset. You are using TWRP right? then goto advance sideload and then adb sideload the rom which u want ... from command prompt.. what you are saying is really not possible....may be you did mess up ur partition since we dont have any physical SD card slot there is just plain 64GB of which 51~55 is usable....Goodluck

when I did the wipe I cleared everything and went back to the Tellus stock RUU (lost all my pictures in the processes dam dropbox) and started over from there.
the first time I changed to the ViperXL+ OS I had the same issue unfortunately I can't remember how I managed to fix it I thought I used Rom Toolbox to set where apps/games installed by default but it says I have to be updated to 2.2+ and I'm only on 2.0.0
So I'm feeling like quit the Dumb A$$ I figured it out after my last post all I had to do in Rom Toolbox is change it from SD card as primary to internal storage as primary and now I can update/Install more apps
