Also I am root with no custom recovery wondering if it's safe to update.

Yes it is 4.4.2 there are many threads about it
edit: its safe as long as you only rooted it... meaning no xposed installed or system apps deleted etc.

And if it is anything like the update for the AT&T One XL that changed the bootloader and made it semi-permanently unrootable (for months anways)?
That would suck.
Though, I am as curious as you.
Wait we cant root e97011c ? 0.0

Any news about update ( version, size )?
I downloaded and installed the update.
I installed it this morning while on the phone with AT&T because my phone keeps turning off in its sleep and he told me this update should fix this issue. I he was likely talking out of his assistant but att is gonna follow up with me on Wednesday to see if it is still turning off. So far this is my third LG E970 and they have all died in their sleep and I'm sure it was software. I hope this update fixes this.

New phone :How to tell if update is already done?

How can I check if the OTA was already accepted when I just got the phone?

Settings. About Phone. If your broadband version ends with vrall4 you have the update.

OTA updates are only updates. They are not entire roms. no a Samsung OTA update will not work on non Samsung ROMs like CM. Its like trying to play an Xbox game on a playstation
I still have the stock rom which I use as my main rom

OTA only works uprooted with original status on stock Rom, hence that's what you have to do if you want them back. Guides are in the stickies.

You would need to reset flash counter and flash a stock ROM officially, yes.
You could just flash custom TouchWiz ROMs instead though.
Ok thx, I was just wondering what actually caused it.

Pretty much everything you did, if you did them on their own, would still have caused it.
Ok thx for clearing that all up for me
