what's sufficient depends on you really, like the above poster I'm sticking with my 64, but if I was buying today I'd probably grab the 128 just to "future proof".

I'd go with sandisk. And, to optimize your phone, completely remove TouchWiz.
How do I go about completely removing it?

32gb will work, I'm using 1 now.
I have a 32gig sandisk works great have 10 gigs of music on it plenty of room left over
The brand of the SD card really does not matter much at all, as long as the brand is somewhat reputable -- what does matter is the class, which relates to the read/write speed of the card (2 is slowest, 4 is better, 6 is faster still, 10 is fastest).
Most of SanDisk's 32gb cards are Class 2, so be aware of what you're buying. You can get a well-reviewed Class 4 card (the best price-to-performance option) for a good price from a smaller brand like this:
http://www.amazon.com/3C-Pro-microSD-microSDHC-Adapter/dp/B003UOKK9Y
Class 6 cards are much more expensive, but you can find them around if you look hard enough. Class 10 32gb cards aren't even out yet.

Did you find its worth $30 more than the class 6? Rumor has it class 10 32GB cards don't play nice with android as well. Any issues?
i want to buy 16gb micro sd card... any recommendation? or should i just get the 32gb since my theory is 32gb take time to load then it leads to the phone slow down...

nahh, its all up to you. i still have the stock class 2, 8gb one cos i'm not big on the sd card, but I would prefer a class 10, 16gb one.

16gb class 10 on my phone 16gb class 4 on the other which is my wife's lol
If you don't do link2sd, app2sd or data2sd I doubt you'll see a difference. If you do use anyone of those then yes you will see a difference when using a higher class.

Thats what I thought too. Thats pretty pricey for 64gb anyways.
It is compatible as long as you format the card in the phone. Someone here has posted before that they bought one a while back and are using it with no issues in their EVO 3D.
Just bought one from the site posted above.

That was me. It's still working great for me. For more info, check out the thread I started:

Since then I've rooted my phone, and for whatever reason - running Olympus ROM with an anthrax kernel - I get slightly faster write speeds. I now get 6 megs per second writing, and 17 megs per second reading.

Not really. Look at the price difference between the 16 32 and 64 gig iphones. And these can be used in future phones. 30 mb transfer ain't bad either

They are uhs-i class 6 enabled, so read speed is up to 30 mb/s and write speed is about 6-10 mb/s. From Adata and sandisk official sites who are the only with uhs-i cards i have read these cards are the best for your smartphone even with lower r/w speed than class 10 SD cards.

Well it happened. The card failed. Not sure why either. All I did was do a backup in recovery, flashed a ROM and rebooted and the card has disappeared. Guess I'll try to return it tomorrow.

I found that a Lot of Ebay(Almost all) and some Unknown brand Amazon MicroSD's either Fail or have a modified partition table.. Ebay is notorious for the latter.
What they do is take a 8GB micro SD and change the partition table to report 64GB and then put it in a loop. So once you hit 8GB it overwrites the last 8 GB with the next 8GB.
Effectively your destroying any data beyond 8GB.
There are tools out there to do a scan of cards to determine if this is the case but unless it's a Name brand Class 10 from good seller I wouldn't by it.
That is very disheartening information,,,I just bought a 64GB card from eBay for like twenty bucks.....hope it's a true 64?
