[Q] Sony Xperia Pro performance - which rom? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hej guys,
at the moment I'm running my Xperia Pro with:
CyanogenMod version: 10-20130103-UNOFFICIAL-iyokan
Android version: 4.1.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-FXP
Build number: cm_iyokan-userdebug 4.1.2
I'm running it for around a year now and I'm really not satisfied with the performance and stability. Everything is really not snappy, apps take really long to load and I've to wait to use it! Using Maps or Chrome is a hell and not reliable when I need them. (Most of my apps are on SD and I don't think I'm experiencing memory problems.)
When I set up the phone last year I tried in the beginning the "newest" available Android version at that time and sticked to it. I guess this was my fault. Now I want to fix this and get finally the best performance and reliability and wanted to ask you for help. I think a downgrade is the best solution. Perhaps also to a custom and minimal rom. Do you have any suggestions what I should use? I would like to go for cyanogen again but I'm open for input. What are you using?
Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

I use the newest ultimate hd (ics) and it runs fast enough with phone overclocked to 1,4ghz. I'd suggest u try it if you haven't already.

CarbonRom
I've been looking into KitKat roms, and I just flashed the CarbonRom.
So far, I'm really happy with the stability and the performance.
Though keep in mind I've OCed to 1.4gHz.
Along with all the features involved, I think it's one of the best roms I've tired in the past few years!

From my experience, these ROMs are the fastest, great performance and with great battery life out of all I've tested so far:
ICS: Xperia Ultimate HD (awesome battery life)
JB: (4.1.2) Super JellyBean and (4.3.1) LegacyXperia 10.2
KK: CarbonROM
You should, of course, flash many and see for yourself which one matches your expectations. And I haven't tested all (yet, haha. ), but from the ones I have, those are the best for <me>. And maybe don't expect too much, there's only a number of things software can do (or improve) when the hardware is very limited.
Currently I'm between CarbonROM and LX 10.2 and I think they're both pretty great and stable.

for me one of the best was superjellybean.. very fast, very smooth, and kitkat themed

[Q] Xperia mini pro ROM for everyday usage

Hi, I'm new in xperia's modifications and stuff, but i had quite a few systems on my device. Unfortunately, none of them fits my expectations. I don't want to test any new roms any more, so i want some stable and fully functional.
My question is, what rom do you use for everyday usage?
I used ICS port for some time and it was the best for me... but it still wasn't it. Is there any ROM for me? Or am I stuck with a stock system?
Stock rooted ROM and modify as much as you want
Doing that on my LWW.
Same as Someguyfromhell. If you want the best stability, stock ROM is the best way to go! But if you want a ROM, my choices are in order from best (in my opinion) are:
1) Stock ROM
2) Hybrom_v16
3) Pro-X v2.2
4) Nerodroid Universal
5) Spartan ROM v2.0.5
I'm using Pro-X v2.2 right now and it's pretty sweet for now I'll stay with this one. Thanks for help!
Pro-X is very stable

X-ROM ICS is the least buggy ICS I've found in a while. it also works very friendly with link2sd. worth trying.

Hey man i feel ya, ive got mini pro as well. Was testing roms and found nothing to be really what i wanted. but Ive been using the MiniCMSandwich Lite AOSP for a good few weeks now and its been a real nice and stable rom. I have nothing but great things to say about it. haha. I use the phone mostly for whatsapp and instagram. so far i havent found any major bugs in it. its pretty fast too. Battery drain is not too bad. i can last almost two days with normal day to day on just wifi. with data i would need a charge after a day.

Which is better?

4.1.1&MS6°KANGED AOKP
CM 10
CM 9
ICS Pureness
AOSP JB Polish Blood
KA22
which have less bugs?
which have more performance ?
which is better?
Argument it please
If only people would stop posting this type of threads
Personally the performance is best on AOKP and AOSP (this includes CM), but they tend to have more bugs as there are compiled from AOSP sources.
I would prefer Pureness over KA, as it just feels a bit faster IMO. I wouldn't try JB right now, there are still some bugs to be sorted out.
Please try the stuff out yourself. Maybe we should just sticky one of these threads to prevent peope from asking the same stuff over and over again. My 2 cents.
I tried all this roms... Most bugs in cm10 and cm9. Ms6 aokp i think is best, becouse its more customizible ant more performance.

so if you tried them all, and you know which is best (at least to you), what is the point of the thread?
I just want to know other opinions

I tried all the roms too. My 2 cents:
Pureness 11 is really great, but I find myself always returning to the JJ Hybrid ROM's (currently 3.3b). Really stable, really fast and best of both worlds (aosp / sony).
I always load the rom with lots of apps I daily use: Swiftkey/whatapp/aweather/business calender and really need the as much RAM as possible. Whenever the RAM goes below 100 MB I'm noticing lags. JJ roms have really good RAM, and great speed and no bloatware.
Right now I switched back to GB codename 9 (test version) to see how that one is progressing. But it's just not feeling right to return to GB.
Eagerly wainting for a stable JB release....

[Q] Best Stable ROM for x10i

Hey All,
What is the best stable (full featured) ROM for the x10i? Last ROM I installed was TEAM ROM v4.0 a year ago, recently upgraded to an S3 and am handing down old faithful to my daughter and want to get it running smoothly for her....she is technically inclined so I need something that is G2G no additional flashing or modding required. Any current recommendations appreciated...I realize that most ICS ROMS will be out of the questions...that is fine, GB = Happy. Thanks in advance.
PS - When I wiped the phone the home button lost its binding...working to wake the screen, but not as a multifunction button.
Hi bro,
if you like SONY's UI Achotjan V2 should be the best option, link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690148
Some bugs was reported (MMS on some provider, Bravia Engine) fixed, try to find it on that thread.

I think the best ROM is donutHD. It's smooth(highest benchmark) and very stable.everything is working

I agree with Jakuburban. DonatHD 2.2.9 is best GB rom for X10i. Recommendations......

Hay ..
all ROM for Xperia is good, but for ICS and JB there are some bugs. For example, Video Recording. If you intend to try but note that there is a problem faced by other users who have installed first.:silly:
Cm7zmod is the best, hands down. The performance offered by ZMOD eclipses all other gingerbread roms, even donutHD.
Achotjan Stock Remplacement Rom V2 is my best rom :good:
D
the best rom is donat hd
its smooth and stable and its jellybean/ics themed , its awesome
Few ROMs Usage - Comments
Hi all,
Just wanted to share a bit of my own personal experience with a few of the X10 roms i tried for some time.
Keep in mind that the daily use was more or less the same for all ROMs and is as follows:
Telephony(calls), data usage (both wifi & 3G), gaming (quite a lot actually), camera (videos + pics), music and even watching videos (rarely).
- Stock 2.3.3: used this for a long time, once it was officially released by SE. When i bought the X10 it had 1.6!! then went to 2.1.
Then i joined the xda family here. Anyways, the overall 2.3.3 rating was that UI is slow and battery drainage is high. (I even charged it twice during a single day!!!)
- CM7-ZMOD-003: used for months. Overall rating was that UI speed is noticeably much faster than stock, but battery drainage is slightly better than with stock 2.3.3.
What i did not like so much was that i had to add another launcher because most toggle widgets i use would not work on the built in loader. Don't know why.
- Then i went back to stock 2.3.3 and tried various themes, launchers (like GO EX, Galaxy S3) but this only made UI much slower (response) and battery drained faster.
The look was nice but as long as you add extra stuff, its only logic that the power drain increases and UI performance decreases.
- FeraLab*** ICS v4 (17/11/2012) - Finally, i wanted to try this (obviously)
Had to learn to unlock BL which was interesting and finally was able to do it ..(after reading carefully - many thanks to all who contribute).
Used it for a month until recently.
The major difference in my case, was that the battery drain was much much less than with any other ROM of the above. This is a major PLUS!.
The only downside was that UI is a little slower but this is expected as the 4.x OS needs more power to sustain, since the X10 was not built for 4.x OS.
Another major factor for me was that, some of the games i played on any 2.x.x OS, will not run on the 4.x OS, like Plants vs Zombies (which is one of my favorites),
I have 3 different apk's saved but either of them work on ICS. Probably they are written for 2.x OS only.
So, now i'm back to stock 2.3.3 and will try a few other candidates that are in xda and see if i finally decide to stay on one, or simply buy a newer phone and more powerful one.
Since i am rather new at all this, i would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributes to xda in any way.
Just wanted to share something back.
Regards,
Eros

If you have the money, go for a new phone. The X10 is more like a ghost these days. Or you could try CM10 by scritch007, which everyone says is really smooth. There's also donutHD, which will give a good stock-based ROM (imo not nearly as smooth as ZMOD, but has better battery life). Or you could try on of the gaming ROMs, those are sure to have the maximum free RAM available..

Which is the best alternative to TouchWiz?

Hello everyone,
I've been striving looking for a rom that works fine on the P4 but no luck so far.
I want to get rid once for all of the TouchWiz stockrom which is slow as hell and makes me want to throw the tablet against the wall. I've been flashing CM and few others but they are all quite buggy and made me want to go back to TouchWiz and hence increase my frustration.
Which is in your experience the best alternative to TouchWiz? I need something stable, fast, and that works!
Thanks
Davide
Have you been trying using latest kitkats? It looks like they made to work much smoother then ever before.
Currently there are 3 competitive kitkat roms. I think that nameless is fastest and most stripped out. Though there are some bugs, in my experience most custom roms were smoother and more stable than even ICS stock rom for about half a year
You can also look at this list of proprietary launchers: ru wikipedia org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BA_%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%BA_Android

[Q] What is the smoothest running ROM for this device?

I haven't been using my tablet much since I picked up my HTC M8. I can definitely notice a difference. I just want to know the ROM that runs the best on this tablet. I prefer an aosp ROM but if a Samsung Rom runs better that's fine. I'm just trying to squeeze as much life as I can out of this thing. Im running Cyanogenmod 10 now but its run so slow.

I am also interested in a smooth running rom for my tab. I don't really care what android version it is honeycomb, ice cream, etc. I just want as many free ram as possible and as fast as possible.
For example, for my hd2 there was a cm8 barebone rom. I am looking for something like that
Thanks in advance
