MirrorOp not working after Saferoot - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Ive been using an app called "MirrorOp" that allows you to Mirror everything from your mobile device (smartphone and tablet) to a computer on the network. In order to use the app, the device has to be rooted. I rooted my galaxy Note 8.0, used the app, and have had great success. However, yesterday I used the Saferoot method to root my Verizon Galaxy S4, then loaded the MirrorOp. But It's not working properly. I tried pretty much every variation of setting on the MirrorOp Sender thats available, but it doesn't make a noticeable difference. To be specific I am using MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy since its a Galaxy S4.
Here is my phone info:
Version: 4.3
Baseband version i545VRUEMK2
Kernel 2.4.0
I can't stress enough that Im confident it's a problem with the Galaxy S4 and/or the root method I used because I use MirrorOp with my Galaxy Note 8.0 over my network all the time and it works perfectly.
Is anyone familiar with MirrorOp on the Galaxy S4?

Looking at the app (MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy), it does not require root, so you shouldn't need that.
I just installed that, installed the Windows Receiver, and it works fine without ever asking for root permissions.

Oh, actually I didn't notice that... Regular "MirrorOp Sender" requires Root, where as "MirrorOp Sender for Galaxy" does not. I would then if maybe the fact that I rooted the phone that could be causing the issue? is there an easy way to Unroot saferoot?
EDIT: Found unroot instructions on same page as root. Unrooted, and it loads a bit more like it's supposed to. but the Lag/freezing is still there T_T

Anyconnect is available in the Market.

It's in the market. Search for "Anyconnect".
CISCO Security Blog entry:
http://blogs.cisco.com/security/keeping-the-peace-secure-android-for-the-enterprise/
It did ask for root. So it's probably not going to work for unrooted devices.
Many apps involving security will check for root and inform you that it is less secure if your device is rooted.
I have confirmed this app as working on a rooted galaxy tab 10.1. I am running pershoots OC kernel. I haven't tried with the stock kernel, but I'm assuming that should work as well. Note that you cannot just connect to any sslvpn. Your ASA must have the anyconnect mobile license in order for this to work.
Can someone post the apk. I would like to try this on the Xoom and see if it works.

I guess we do not have the anyconnect mobile license at my workplace.....bummer...it just times-out.
Funny, I could get VPN working fine my 7" tab, before I got the 10.1 (and before anyconnect) was available, just fine.
Kinda sucks that it vanilla VPN does not work and the new requirement for the GT10.1

[Q] Where is S-note on Rogers UXLF4 ICS update? (Solved)

Installed the stock Rogers ICS UXLF4 update through kies today. It is missing SNote. I tried to install versions of SNote from my previous ROMs but all lead to FC. May be a deodexxed issue?? Anyone have any info on why SNote was not included on this Canadian ROM and anyway to get it reinstalled?
Samsung Apps ?
I got mine from Samsung Apps, have you tried that yet ? No S Voice yet though
There was no S-note in samsung apps when I looked. Samsung apps even updated and I even registered. There was MyStory among a host of other s-pen apps but no s-note. Anyway to send a link to the download?
s note
I am not too sure how to post the link that I found through my phone. All I did was search s note, try typing it exactly like that ? I am on version 2.7.032, if that helps ? Samsung Apps, not play store right ?
Since I am using the phone on ATT I must be blocked. I see every other s-pen and note apps out there. But no S-note.
Got to thinking about S-note. It requires lib files that can't be installed with an apk. So I don't think you can get it on Samsung Apps. I know a few said they did but it must be another app. I am taking an educated guess that it will be a software update soon available OTA or by kies. I tracked down the lib files and installed snote from the latest ATT ICS update and all is working well.
Great
I just realized (dummy me) that I could login to Samsung Apps thru my pc,

I think this is the proper link & changed the http to hxxp, I hope this allows you to see what I see, as well as a friend of mine, we are in Canada tho, not too sure if that makes any difference ?:fingers-crossed:

I was able to see the S-note app. But is says it is only for the GT-I9220. What do you see on that page for available devices?
I was also able to get Kies to show samsung apps. Had to hack my registry to say CA instead of US for Kies and now samsung apps shows up. But it still says the SGH-I717R is not supported.
Hmmmm
Yes, I see GT-I9220 also, very strange because I have it on my I717R. I have noooooo idea how I could help now, any suggestions ?

Trying to figure out which way I should go. I can't login with my canadian login on my phone itself. It says wrong country. I can login to samsung apps now (country hacked) and see samsung apps. But it says my phone is not supported. Can you login to samsung apps through kies and see if the I717R is supported? Either samsung does not support branded phones through kies or the I717 series is temp pulled from the site.
Kies How ?
Unfortunately, I can't seem to log into Samsung Apps thru Kies ? I can't find the option ?
I am guessing that we are both blocked on samsung apps through kies. The I717 phones are also not compatible with samsung apps on kies probably because they are all branded devices. I am sort of blocked on samsung apps on the phone cause I am in the USA. I can log into SA of US but not of Canada. US does not have the s-note download. So basically samsung shut the door on canadian phones in the USA from downloading s-note and possibly other important apps.
I have the version from the ATT ICS ROM installed. Not the same version but good enough for now.
modem ?
Just a thought, have you thought about trying to put the ICS Rogers modem in your phone (not sure if it is possible) ? Mine is showing I717RUXLF4.
I don't know if this would help at all ?
I have that modem. My phone is 100% Rogers except for being rooted and my location is in the USA. Haven't changed my sig yet as I don't know which direction I am heading.

Fitbit app

My wife gave me a Fitbit for Christmas (Apparently, she wants me to get off my butt more and move around!)
The Fitbit is a small wearable device that measures your activity level, etc. The Fitbit app uses Bluetooth 4.0 to sync with the device. The sync function is working with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone, which is setup with a custom ROM. The app does not sync on the G Pad using stock firmware.
According to the specs I see, the G Pad is supposed to have support for BT 4.0. I don't have any other devices that use it.
Does anybody here have a Fitbit device? I'm curious to know if anybody has tried to sync one on a G Pad with different firmware. Or on a GPE device. It might be that it would work on a 4.3 or 4.4 ROM.
I have a GPE and the app syncs fine with my Flex. I did, however, participate in the Fitbit beta program when they were testing for devices other than the Galaxy series (namely Nexus and Motorola devices with BT 4.0). My Fitbit app is version 1.8.4 if that helps. Here's the link to the beta program: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ZVjMd9JsDyo45g7uUV60clx7D780ouDka-wgNwvqxmA/viewform
Yes, I was playing with my new fitbit all day yesterday and unless you have one of their devices that is currently known to be compatible you have to be signed up for the Beta program. I am currently running android 4.4 with the cyanogenmod.
I signed up for the Beta by joining the google group here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/fitbit-android-sync-beta
Which allows you to go to: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.fitbit.FitbitMobile
Where you click become a tester. You then need to uninstall the fitbit app, clear the cache for the google play store (I used Clean Master to do this), and reinstall the fitbit app. You will now have the beta version of the app and when you login it will automatically find and start syncing to your fitbit. Note that by default the background syncing is turned off. If you want to be able to do this you have to enable it under devices.
Indeed LG gpad Hardware supports bt4. You need 4.3+ Android for bt4. I tried it with cm and it works.
If you want stock experience, then you have to wait for the Kitkat release.
Forgot to add : I tried it with a polar h7 bt4 heart rate monitor. Works great.
Not necessarily true regarding needing 4.3. They do support the LG G2 which is still on 4.2 stock. Im using it with mine and it syncs fine to the G2. I've never tried syncing to my G Pad tho

Good to know. I might check the fitbit after all.
Unfortunately the polar h7 doesn't want to pair with my Stock LG g2. It is after 4.3 that Android provides platform support to bt4. The solution that LG and Samsung used in the lower api levels apparently doesn't pay nice with all hardware.

Correct. The Fitbit app syncs on my Galaxy S3, which is using a custom rom running Android 4.1.2. That version doesn't support Bluetooth 4.0., so I think they must have it working with Bluetooth 3 on some devices.

I have an LG Lucid 2 running 4.1.2 on a custom rom and while the tech specs say it has bluetooth 4.0 I can't get it to sync. It doesn't even look like the beta version is installing at all but I don't know how to tell for sure.

Looks to me like the app checks to see what device it's installed on and the sync features are only enabled for certain devices. On the G Pad, I can check my my dashboard, etc., but I can't sync or interact with the tracker. On the S3, the app lets me sync and do other things.
I've no way of trying this myself but to you guys who say that you should have support for BT4.0, you could try and trick the device that will not sync. Go into the build.prop and take the ro buildnumber and name and so on and change them to the same of a device that you are certain it works with. If the the Fitbit is checking up against a buildnumber or model number, chances are it's from the build.prop. And could be funny if you could actually trick it just by making your phone into something else. ^^ (That is if BT4 is supported as said.)

That's a really good idea. I have double and triple checked the specs for my phone and it does say Bluetooth 4.0. I think I'll try this since it worked for me tricking QPair into thinking my gpad was a v510. Thanks!

Ah, rule number one of flashing KitKat: When done go to play store and get supersu, run it and let it update the binary. Choose normal, not CWM\TWPR. Let it finish the install, takes10 secs or so. Restart and tadaa root. It has to be done on all devices for now. Go into supersu after reboot and find Settings and then untick "Respect CM superuser bleh bleh."
Good luck.

My phone is running a custom 4.1.2 Rom called Lucidian. Would this still apply to that? I have superuser already working on it. And on my gpad running 4.4.2 cm11 I didn't have to do that to get root.

And you have tried build.prop and it worked on your G Pad with CM 11? Funny, I had to do it on two different devices and just assumed I would have to on the G Pad as well. Now 4.1 i don't recall had any root issues, beats me why you can't edit the system on that one. Anyways, sounds like an incomplete root, like what happened in ICS 4.0 on the first Galaxy Note. Gave root but didn't do it for the full system..

It would seem that ioroot has won this round

There's this terrible fashion going around in the UK of official apps from certain companies not working on rooted devices.
Then here comes ioroot which gracefully roots your device and guess what, does it in such a way that it isn't detected by any app, right out of the box.
I installed CM11 and unfortunately, CM11 does it wrong. I can't run any of the apps now, and some of them are quite important. For example, the Three network has an app called Three inTouch which lets you make calls over Wi-Fi (but through your normal number) in places where there is no mobile reception. It's kind of like your own personal femtocel. The app doesn't work with root.
Tried all the ways out there to hide root, it would seem none work on CM11.
This was just a heads-up. If hiding root is important for you, go with stock and ioroot and NOT CM11.

Voted #1 thread for 100% nonsense.
Seriously, this is utter complete nonsense. The root detection is done on the STOCK ROM. There's no "root detection" happening when CM11 is installed. Period.

The root detection he is referring to is done by the apps not the system...he is saying that the method io root uses cloaks that root from being detected and root is visible to these apps in cm basically making them unusable... Sadly there are a lot of apps now that check for root and won't run due to being "unsafe".

On another note don't know names or if they even still work but there were some apps available that hid root to allow use of these root haters.

Yes, it eventually comes down to that, and it seems to work about 50% of the time (as in half the apps still detect root even with RootCloak).
RootCloak through Cydia doesn't seem to work at all. Or in other words, I didn't manage to get Cydia running on CM11.
However, Xposed is not without security risks, more so than having root. Plus, I'd really love me some ART runtime right about now, but the Xposed Framwork dev won't be updating it until it gets released officially later this year with the Android L OS.
Ah well, life can't be perfect. I'm not condemning CM11 god now, I'm just wondering, what's different between the two methods of rooting because really, ioroot just worked out of the box.
It rooted the phone and I was prepared to resort to other hiding methods but I didn't need any.
