Thought I would share this if anyone is looking for a flyer. TechforLess is selling open box and refurbished flyers for $179 and $199. I wish we had things like that over here...
I use this as a Daily internet portal, listening to music on Spotify, ebook, sketch design concepts, taking notes for work. Anytime I travel, this Little tablet is the one thing I take with me on the plane. I don't really play that many games on it, some and it does a decent job for that. So I think these Specs will be fine as long as the Apps I use doesn't require a Quad-Core. Might gift another tablet to myself, but probably sell it to a co-worker who might need the all around awesomeness of HTC Flyer at cost.

Just got in for the $199 Open Box HTC Flyer. I'm so glad I waited. I came so close to buying this afternoon and then I went to work at 4pm to 2 am came home and it was $100 cheaper then the $299 I was gonna pay.
FYI: I just checked eBay and they are still selling for around $290 used.
Looks like they sold out of the refurbs that were $180.

Same here. It was $295 and I almost bought one but went to Best Buy to ***** at them in person for jerking me around. I come home about an hour later (found a friend camping outside Best Buy) and it was $199.49! I couldn't click buy fast enough. Thank you Best Buy but you still suck.
I also bought one from techforless. We will see what happens. They got good reviews on Google shopper.

I live in Colorado Springs and have purchased from Tech for less many times, to all that have doubts, I would say you have nothing to worry about and will receive a quality product for the price, the reason they did this is because they had over 800 yesterday and when they have a large amout of inventory they do what is called a fire sale and that is how they move a lot of merchandise in a very short period of time. I wish I would have seen the sale would have liked one myself, OH WELL I guess I just missed out. Congrats to all that got one you got a heck of a deal!!!

Well, as luck would have it, I saw a tweet today about being able to go see the transformer prime at select Gamestop locations. There were two in Colorado that were supposed to have them to demo.
I called one of them in Denver, they said they had a display unit and a unit to sale. Well, hop in the car, and now I have an Amethyst Grey 32GB sitting next to me, completely sealed.
I wanted the 64GB version, and I think I will hold for that from Amazon. I'll probably just sell this one on craigslist.
I know I'm very lucky. The first time I've ever had anything like this happen to me.

Stuck it on Craigslist. Some of the people on IRC are saying I should take a dump of the rom before I sell it. However, if I open, I can't return it. Decisions, decisions.
Just called a gamestop about 75 miles away from me & they have the 32gb champagne gold one (purple) but i'm thinking i won't ever hardly ever be looking at the back of the thing anyway lol.My Xoom stays in a gel cover or either the folio at all times..so color really shouldnt be a big deal.

Oh lol my bad then that's the color i meant because the guy on the phone was like it looks dark purple..lol..he better call me back pronto.He said he wanted make sure it wasn't a defective unit they had but was sure that one wasnt the one.He just wanted to check with the manager before telling me anything else.

Lucky Mofo. If you don't plan on keeping it, smartest move now would be to put it on eBay. I'm sure you could easily get $800 or more for it. Since it's so rare and not even officially out yet. You should contribute by dumping the rom to developers so we could have a nice headstart on developing. The sooner the better and faster we get custom roms, CWM recovery, n over clocking.
Do a system dump dude listen to them then sell it on ebay I'm sure even opened you could still get Atleast 600! Just leave the clear plastic stickers on

Aftermseeing this thread I called around to local gamestops to see if they had it. They said only the big store ones around here would have it. I found one and they said none in stock yet but they will have it on the 19th. Only thing is he said they only taking pre orders on it so once they come in, they pretty much all will be accounted for. Especially since demand is so high. He said everybody been calling like crazy and going bananas looking for that tablet. I was like I know, it's the first quad core android tablet..LMFAO

Yes the prices are going up for some reason. I've notice it on amazon too. $650 and up for the 32gb. Its crazy!! One seller for over $1000!!!

There have been some very real quality issues with this device. Particularly with the GPS (which MAY have turned out just to be a software issue, but may not be).
For you to write those issues off by saying that people were trolling is extremely irresponsible.
There has been some direct trolling, but the volume of the negative reviews have been from honest owners.
I appreciate the honest opinions here - it can be tough to fish out the trolls from the honest folk though.
Ah there are simply too many people that are looking for an ipad but buying the Prime, imho... And then there are many people that only look at the small things that arent perfect yet and not at the big picture.
I still have not found a big enough reason to cancel my preorder (ships mid january here) and there are so many people here trying really hard to ***** about this Tablet
On the other hand, if I was getting the TP mainly for GPS navigation in my car i wouldnt do it. But for the things i intend to do with it (surfing&youtube, watching movies, gaming _with a gamepad_ +emulators and text input), there's still nothing better and wont be anytime soon.

Well said. As for the people trying to make a quick buck by selling it on ebay good on you but if its defective that's just mean and PayPal could refund the item. Amazon is still the 12th and Ebuyer is 17 to 25 days..Ahhhhh
I opt'd to cancel my prime order...no gps and poor wifi performance... not for $600 so I canceled the dock and tablet order *sigh* am very disappointed...
I have one that I'm selling for $650 here locally on Craigslist in Eugene OR. I think I'm the only one in Eugene that has it. If I sell it I can buy a dock for my second Prime.

The wifi is fine and there is a GPS. You didnt even receive it, yet you assume that these issues exist in all TFPs, which they don't.

Good thing I'm selling it on Craigslist. Its funny how some people are oblivious to the Prime. One guy laughed at me and sent me a link to what he thought was the same tablet. It was the tf101 lol. Asking me why he should buy mine and not the one he found for $400. So I of course educated him a bit and told him off.

My beloved prime after it was catapulted by my 10 month baby across the room (yeah, she's that strong, we call her Yetti behind her back).
Surprisingly enough, the bad mammajamma is still fully functioning (minus the fact that swiping your finger across those cracks will draw blood, the darn thing is razor-sharp).
Think I can RMA? (The prime, not Yetti)
I tried to nandroid-restore it, but it's still cracked, I'll write a *****en email to the dev with a feature request, "Please make option to restore broken screen or else I'll give you 1 star".
oh, and it made my GPS super-awesome now! I can see 4000+ sats now, some of them I can pick right through earth when they are right below me.
Yeah, no, it's a bummer, I wanted to lock my self in the bathroom and weep like a 6 years old girl who's Pony got hit by a truck.

You could always ebay your Yetti ... i often think about the same.
That just hurts me from looking at it. If you can't scrap it for parts do you think a screen protector would prevent your fingers from getting cuts? If your into programing you can turn it into a test tablet for running and tinkering roms/apps.

Not sure how I'm gonna us it, its too big to carry around. Probaby will just keep it in the car. Maybe at the office for streaming music, not through the company network and not have the network engineer ***** at me.

It was a very limited sale, when I checked it the day this post came out, there was a little over 1 day left. I suspect it is over and JBL website is not smart and put coming soon. Just a thought.
