[Q] Stock App Drawer - Themer General Discussion

Hey,
Is it possible to use the stock app drawer with Themer? I can't find one that I like more, I just prefer the way it handles things and the way it looks.
Thanks,
Ninja!

Hi, we will look into adding more features in the app drawer in the future, but for now we want to move away from the traditional app drawer

I tried Go Launcher, but uninstalled it because the dock icons were off-center. Is that happening to you?
Yes but that's not bothering me. The font size in the app drawer is what's killing it for me.

I don't think you can change the font size. I've been trying to contact the devs about nook colour support but no luck.

Personally, the off center dock doesn't annoy me so much, but the large fonts in the app drawer do. All in all, however, it works very well.

with the new themes the off center dock is really starting to bug me. do people running nookie froyo also have this problem?
has anyone been able to get in contact with the devs? I tried but nothing...
no luck here. I've emailed and messaged them on twitter
Thats a shame... It was running good on the nook. But the visuals killed it. Oh well back to adw until they can support the nook.

Buttom bar

Hi there,
Do anyone know if it's possible to remove the Buttom pop-up bar.
I'd like to use WizzBar, but after installing Wizzbar, I now have the default one and Wizzbar poping up :-(
Sorry but no there is no way to remove it.

I am incorrect, I just noticed a new app.
How do you change the icons on this thing (task manager, calendar, world clock etc)? Surely it's configurable ....

That's terrible Are there any mods or anything to get rid of it, or force changes or something? That's pretty weird that they didn't just make it configurable. What's the thinking behind that?
I am just guessing but I don't believe the "mini" apps on the touchwiz taskbar are like regular apps. Regular apps can't be used in a multitasking way like the touchwiz "mini" apps on the taskbar, which is why you can't place your own apps there. I believe Samsung would have to develope more "mini" apps first.
If you get one of the android launchers from the market like launcher pro or adw ex, they each have docks that you can place your own apps on. On adw ex you can even have the dock rise up and disappear like touchwiz's taskbar.

The pop-up touch wiz/apps bar is just annoying I only ever use it for task manager I wish you could not have it and just have tas man as an app or widget. The bar only over pops up when I accidentaly press it when playing a game. It's totally rubbish since the apps are not configurable.
Samsung take it off and/or make it configurable it's the biggest bug bear I have with Samsung tabs.

Is it possible to use custom Icons without rooting and using another Launcher?

Well is it possible to use custom icons without changing launchers and rooting? This is my first android phone so I am not comfortable rooting, and I haven't really looked into installing various launchers. I'd like to change the look somewhat with different icons if possible. Thanks

Short answer No, But Go Launcher EX is a really good alternative Launcher with TONS of Icon packs and the customization is unparallel

I highly recommend using Go Launcher. This is what I used before I rooted. I'm rooted now, run a custom ROM and I still use Go Launcher!

How to guide...

I was looking for a "how to guide" on how to make themes for the app, but I did`nt come across any here.
So is there some sort of template or guide somewhere that lads like me can use in order to make some themes for the app, cheers.
there is a video guide m8 probably the easiest way to do it is to download a theme and get used to changing things around to how you want them ie change the wallpaper, icons etc

Will do!
I'm having problems with themes, some of the widgets are not aligned properly, I try to do it manually but is not working, I just recently moved to SlimBean from Omega, no problems on Omega, I guess it's the DPI SlimBean uses, should I go to the next bigger DPI?

Chances are it's DPI issues, Themer was designed to work only on stock DPI as well as the supported resolution. We will consider changing this in the future though.
Any chance for a more advanced tutorial?
I am sure Themer got so much to offer that wasn't cleared on the previous tutorial

You know what, I've already seen that video, it never dawned on me to go to the widgets, cheers man.
One more thing, my theme is based on chrome , so can I add my own weather icons and text in the same chrome?

YES! That tut did the trick, thank you, I`ve another question, would it be possible to add the custom text as chrome, I`m fairly handy with Photoshop, can I make my own font and style, then add it in Themer?

If you can make a .ttf file then yes just add the .ttf file you make to MyColorScreen-Themer-EverythingWidget-CustomFont
Then you will see any .ttf files you add in fonts on themer

I`ve given up on the custom font for now, thanks for the info though.
I`m trying to set up a badge foe my signature, link to MyColorScreen, how do I do that?
Edit: I managed to get a temp badge up, also my theme seems to be up, but on the preview screen on MyColorScreen, the default screen is the left home screen, how do I get it to be the main or middle home?

To set screen 2 or any other long press home screen when widget's are locked and select +/- home screen there you will find 2 columns 1 for number of home screens and 1 to select which is the default home screen.
IE: for a 3 page theme and default screen as 2 it would look like in my screen shot

That's an interesting question.
Easy enough to test.
Let me try... since I care about helping people out.
See screenshots I made for you.
(I'm on Android 12, unrooted, Samsung, using Nova launcher.)
