Yup - there's a lot of great things happening with Ace, so we wanted to put it back on the main index.
Most of the carriers in Asia just released the Galaxy Ace this May 2011 and June 2011. That's probably why we're seeing greater activity now for the Ace than before.

don't need to be actively developing on it to setup the section that will inevitably be created. Will give people a chance to become acquainted, and a formal place to discuss the phone.
I'll be there!!! Specs's look waaaayyyyyy better than the GN, and we'll still get ICS before the actual "update". So I'm in!

why taking it that much
Ace forum not has low activity at all
which called low activity see in galaxy fit forum thats called where second or third thread have two days agos posts
ace is not older even optimus one and x8 are much older than ace which still on main page
but they have recognize dev who update rom one in month still they called active forum
Anyway its not big deal
if you feel that bad and have free time read as much possible about development and start for your phone so you can contribute
Reasone for removing ace from main forum is to make place for new samsung device as our company realise lots device
and fit already transfered from main page so turn was our beloved ace

No point complaining. The site owners have done what they do on a regular basis. This has always happened and will always continue. Every now and then they look at which forums are busiest and they move the lower activity ones.
Its not a personal attack. Have you seen how many new high end phones have been released in the last six months around the world and how many are being sold every day? Some are more popular than others. It means nothing to be moved, as long as people keep the place alive it will be here.
If you need to be on the front page because of your insecurities buy a new phone because this forum won't be moved no matter how much anyone cries to the mods/admins/owners. Clicks mean money and they can earn more from others forums/phones with higher activity. Something has to earn money to keep the site functioning.

I just graduated last week and its time to mess with android.. Nims could you direct me for some good development websites so I could start reading..
XDA's action to move GSA to "new house" more or less makes us unhappy but anyway it not affects to the fact that CyanogenMod 7.2 official release will include our devices (not nightlies as confirmed by Kolja Dummann on G+)

I dont think my father would let me buy one atleast for the next 6 months anyway
Not that changing phones regularly is a good thing, with a smartphone market like this, you really have no choice, look at Ace,when it came out.It was an awesome phone for its price,a mid-high end ranged phone...But now its sad that people call single core under 1GHz phones, low end
this news has no effect on me. i still love my ace,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Grow up. Samsung isn't doing anything to you. XDA is for people who want to load custom ROMs. There's at least three ICS ROMs available now in the dev forum. If you just want Samsung's (bloated) ICS, why are you here?

Dont want an official release if it's going to be as bad as the sgs2 ICS ;-)
well, the one and only reason we're waiting for the officail release is to get the camera drivers. As far as I'm concerned everything else is working great in Kang rom.

What about my comment would suggest I don't think Samsung should do an official release? I'm just fed up with the whining. What's the point? It doesn't get us any closer to working camera drivers, and it's just mucking up the forum (which wouldn't be such a big deal if the mods would occasionally delete nonsense threads like this....).
BTW- for others thinking maybe Samsung reads these forums: they don't. XDA is (well, it was...) for power-users and devs. We are a tiny fraction of the customer base, and (if you know anything about the business) pretty unimportant. This isn't an insult; it's honesty.
Also, if you want a reason to be angry at Samsung, consider the way the workers in the factories are treated. You think Samsung treats you bad? Try being one of the young women that build the components in the factories, or the people who live nearby and can't drink the water from their own well... You've got it pretty good. You'll get ICS, stop whining on XDA. (BTW- this is directed at the OP, not Jay).

Wait, slack isn't it Apple factory who has it THAT bad? I'm pretty sure all the news headlines were directing it at apple. Samsung does treat it's people a bit better compared to apple.
I don't see how the release can be any different? I thought ICS was supposed to be, "one general OS for all devices" which mean's only minor changes need to be made to adjust to the platform it will be installed on as they already have all the official driver's ahead of time before release. Problem is they pamper the new devices and focus on them that they leave devices like GTab, in the dark.
I've quit anticipating the ICS release with Samsung's horrible "Survival of the fittest" stunt they pulled on which will and will not get the ICS update, no compensation pack was offered aswell despite their promise.

Devs are working hard to build it, but there seems to be issues building it from source and flashing it. Some Quincyatt users tried to flash it when a dev build it, but failed to flash. Be patient . You might have to wait until February or earlier, because other devs that make roms for other phones are already building Lollipop 5.0.2, which is major fixes,

What kind of proof do we have that we aren't waiting on a ghost?
There is no proof. The original Note is a very aged device now, but very reliable. As reliable as the talent of the developers that exist on XDA. You only have a few choices.
Trust and be patient
Develop yourself
Buy another device.
Don't be so quick to throw the first option away. Sorry, I haven't looked at your stats, but I have been here a while with several devices. One thing I have learned, this device won't die.
Good things come to those who wait. They said the Note wouldn't get JB. They said it wouldn't run KK.

Was using a Note 3 for a while. Awesome device, but because of the locked bootloder and the fact that safestrap is no longer supported, I just went back to the Note. I'll settle for a slower device as long as I have the flexibility to customize it. I have a hard time understanding why OEMs force consumers into using their ROMs.
P.S. - It's Motorola

That's all fine and dandy, I just wish these mystery developers, could at least Identify themselves and make a note (no pun intended) that they do in fact have intention on porting 5.0 to the note, and are in fact at some stage of development (no eta required). I prefer to have this than to having someone, who isn't claiming to be one of these "undercover developers", tell me "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February." for all I know you may be getting your information from talking to a horses butt hole (no flame intended). Even a link to an non-credible noob from some backwater internet forum saying he's in the beginning development stages would be better than "yeah someone is probably working on it, and it's probably going to be out in February."

Really? I've been running Kit Kat on both of my notes since release! At release there was some bugs, but I'd say sounds like you haven't tried too many distros of it lol! Any newer CM11 runs pretty damn good. And Liquid runs well! I personally found BrokenOS to be practically flawless and I'm running the newest release of Spirit ROM right now and damn its killer! So I'd love to know how you can say Kit Kat is hardly running? LMAO!
