F.A.Q. - Read this before complaining!
1. This kernel works on Y or X rom?
A: It is only compatible with and i officially support StockROM & their deriatives only and users on other ROM are on their own risk and complaining about the Kernel will not be tolerated..!
2. OMG Battery Sucks...!
A: As you can imagine I don't build kernels to decrease battery life. All the battery life problems come from your apps, either Facebook, or Maps, or some Location Service being enabled etc etc. Check your damn wakelocks and fix them, the kernel is not responsible for them.
3. How do I flash this?
A: Reading the OP, theres a reason why I added instructions on it.
4. Which App is the best for Controlling the Kernel?
A: Their are many apps in the Play Store but i personally recommend TricksterMOD or FauxClock rest its on you whether which you find most comfortable.
5. Getting Random reboots..! Any Help
A: I don't answer to problems without a log. The log file is in /proc/last_kmsg. Paste it on pastie.org and link it on your post. Logcats are useless for Kernel purposes, don't bother posting them.
6. OP is arrogant, I'm gonna call the Internet Police?
A: Deal with it.
7. Which Settings are best for XYZ ROM and XYZ thing..!
A: THe Default settings of the Kernel are the best and Balanced one but you can ask other users on the thread or can discuss which settings are the best..!
8. XYZ Feature doen't work in this Kernel on XYZ ROM..! You suckass, fix it..!
A: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for a fix, I can tell you I don't have the solution. If you leave now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I ignore you.

FAQ:
GPU overclock reduces performance on my phone. Why? OR I'm getting low scores on benchmark? OR I get low fps? (Don't be dumb to ask this question again and again).
A: I really don't know the reason. But if it doesn't work for you, download this and flash it using CWM/TWRP without wipe.
What is a kernel? Why should I install it?
A: Click here to know the answer.
How to Change RAMDISK ?
A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52449925&postcount=525
Will this work on all MT6589 Phones?
A: NO!
Is this kernel compatible with all ROMs?
A: Yes. But for ROMs not based on stock, (like MiUi and ColoOS) you have to replace ramdisk.
Will this work on other clones like MyPhone A919i, Wiko Cink 5, Fly IQ451 ?
A: YES. It will work
Is this kernel recommended for daily use?
A: Yes!
My phone lags a lot on V2.0. Why?
A:Because you are on 1.5GHz by default. Download Set CPU from playstore and set max frequency to 1.2GHz.
What are the best governor+io combinations?
A: Hotplug+cfq, Smartassv2+cfd, Sakuractive+cfq. You can try others and report!
How to use doubletap2wake and sweep2wake?
A: Download trickster mod app from playstore, Open "specific" tab in that app and enable s2w, d2w. Also tick on kernel settings to make your settings stay after a reboot. Also Refer this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51893190&postcount=420

It belongs to the firmware directory. I've added etc folder to fix Wifi and bluetooth.
I'm on stock 4.2 (P10) and clearly camera doesn't work for me.
Btw, it would be great if you people can fix camera by extracting necessary files from 4.1 because the camera works perfectly on 4.1. So, it means that it is not the problem with kernel.

Are you able to see which parts decreased in Antutu? Was it the CPU score? I know that if you use some of the other governors instead of hotplug, some of the cpu cores get turned off and you'll only have 1 or 2 active.

If you're talking about the alpha 2 then yes it will be laggy unless you change the governor.

Antutu score has gone down to around 10k, I think it is because of the unstable graphics. Thanks for informing me about the 5MP Camera, I will look into that in my next build.

FAQ
Q : With what ROM can I use this kernel ?
A : With any ROM based on Sony stock 4.3
Q : What features will be added to next versions ?
A : I probably don't know. If you have a feature request, please use the devdb tab for it on the top of the thread.
Q : Your kernel isn't working / My phone isn't booting anymore
A : Read this whole post once more, search for your problem in thread and report it if you haven't found a solution.
Q : Can I install this kernel on locked bootloader ?
A : No ! This kernel is only for unlocked bootloader.
Q : Does this kernel include recovery ?
A : Yes ! You can access by pressing volume button when the lights blink. Volume up to go to CWM and Volume down to go to TWRP or loads from FOTA partition if you have a kernel installed..
Q : What are mpdecision and fast hotplug ?
A : This is what manage your cpu cores and decide which core will be online. Fast hotplug is a brand new hotplug that I wrote. You can find more information there
Q : How to control fast hotplug ?
A : I modified Pimp my Z1 to be compatible with fast hotplug. You can use it without any problem on your Xperia SP to configure fast hotplug (Power Management menu) but it might have bugs with other functions (you can still try, I haven't had problems yet ).
You can find it there
Q : Where does the name come from ?
A : This kernel isn't named after someone but after a pear. We use this pear to make one of the best swiss "eau de vie" called Williamine.

Cool!
Another kernel for stock based Rom
Will try ASAP
Thank you for so many governors

awesome... will try
Good luck with you development man!!! Hope u can make an kernel for CM11 too =D
Wanna try...
But could u make a flashable zip?
I am just a lazy guy. lol
------------
The graphic performance can be more stable.
And I/O seems to be a little slow.
Benchmark score is lower than stock about 1500 with Quadrant.
Just for some advices~
Can make a flashable zip according to this guide (2nd post)

I can understand this laziness, I would have it too. So the OP is updated with flashable zip !
And thank for the review. Actually I/O and graphic performance haven't been changed so I wasn't expecting any improvement. Btw some IO schedulers might come soon.
gonns try this man
thanks will post my
review later
So far no problems at all and great battery life, especially when listening music(1% half an hour). Also could you import sound control in kernel ? It would be very useful. Thanks for great work

Hi boss, I am just using it kernel and it's a charm to use it, the only problem I face is there is no recovery on this kernel, I can even add, cam u plz add cwm or Philz touch recovery? Then it will be a great thing to use, eagerly waiting for us reply with recovery
Or u can assist me also toward recovery by myself
any one test this on eXistenZ?
and what about battery ???
Does your kernel support multi core control?
I played a bit with governors using Android Tuner app but seems to me that second core is offline most of the time if not all of the time.
Also when I set it online, it start to show CPU1 states time but when screen goes off CPU1 again goes offline.

There is a recovery version for locked bootloader which should also work on ub. You should try installing it.

Try to find a option to deactivate mp-decision. If you can't find it in Android tuner try trickster mod. Once this option is deactivated you will be in control of your cores.

I think you may misunderstood me...
It's not so much about control but about CPU 2nd core is not used even when 1st core is at 100% at max frequency
and with WiFi on and Walkman playing music

Stock JB .201 and default ondemand governor.
Also tried with SmartassV2 and intellidemand.
When I enable CPU1 with Android tuner it works fine according to active CPU governor
but when screen goes off CPU1 goes offline and stays offline.
Or maybe I'm just not seeing it works?
Here is dmesg output...
http://pastebin.com/SgvfmC6b
I just tried to put performance governor in action...
and when I enable it and set both cores online it works at full throttle but when screen goes off so does 2nd core

Of it's only when screen is off its actually a feature. But this will be optional in next version.

It's OK to go offline when screen is off, that's perfectly OK but when you start using your phone it stays offline.
I tried AdvStd kernel .201 and it switches CPU1 core OK...
Also Doomlord's V10 fix2 working fine, maybe, I would dare to say too much of an CPU1 active
maybe that's why phone gets warmer when using DoomLord's kernel.
FISHEARS KERNELS FOR STOCK KOREAN V50030A AND HONG KONG V50030B ROMS **ONLY**
DO NOT FLASH WITH ANY OTHER ROM
This project consists of two kernels:
Fishears StockPlus Kernel:
Based on the Stock LG kernel from the Korean v50030a, Android 5.0.2 ROM. It will always stay as close as possible to the original kernel whilst being kept up to date with the Linux Stable 3.4.y branch and including other patches that can be considered as bug-fixes to the original LG source code. This is best for people who want an up to date Stock kernel experience.

Fishears Custom Kernel:
Also based on the Stock LG kernel from the Korean v50030a, Android 5.0.2 ROM. It will be kept up to date with the Linux Stable 3.4.y branch and will also include various enhancements and performance improvements for people who like to tweak their kernel setup.

An Important Note About MLT.apk:
One of the first things we noticed when testing my kernels was that something was causing unusually high CPU load and therefore battery drain. Investigations revealed that the cause was an app called MLT.apk which is included in the v50030a and v50030b ROMs under /system/priv-app/MLT/. This app has an unknown purpose - LG don't provide any details. The main point here is that to use a non-stock kernel you will have to disable this app. This is not negotiable. Something about the app does not play nice with anything but the official stock kernel. I am providing two flashable zips that will disable or enable this app (all they do is rename it).
Click to collapse
Installation Instructions:
Backup your device
Flash the MLTdisabler.zip in recovery
Flash whichever of my kernel zips you want from here (they are bumped already)
Reboot and profit
I recommend Trickster Mod or Kernel Adiutor for managing kernel settings but other kernel managers are available.
If you're wondering why the you only see "3.4.110" or whatever under About tablet, Software info - that's because LG have restricted the display of kernel information in the ROM. If you use xposed and G3 TweaksBox then you can enable extra info like in the screenshot below.
If at any time you decide you want to go back to the stock kernel then flash the MLTenabler.zip followed by this Stock Kernel zip (or just restore your backup).

Custom - this is Rebase plus the Custom kernel code
StockPlus - this is Rebase plus the StockPlus code
I hope that the Rebase branch will act as a stable codebase for other Devs to build kernels for v50030a and v50030b. I will keep it up to date with Linux Stable 3.4.y - please fork yourselves dizzy :silly:

Bug Reports and Feature Requests:
Bugs can be reported in the thread or at the GitHub Issue Tracker
Please provide as much information as you can about your kernel settings and any modifications to your ROM - also provide logs. If you're new to bug reporting then its simplest to use an app. If you install Kernel Adiutor and go to Settings you'll see a Debugging section. There you can save your logcat, dmesg and last_kmsg to internal storage. Please do this after you experience an issue and then zip them up and post them with a complete description of the issue.
Feature requests will be considered but please don't expect to get everything you ask for, I'm not Santa

This is great! Just flashed/booted and working fine so far.
awesome sauce! seems like a flashing weekend! thank you dev!
Thanks @fishears! Flashed custom version, no tweaking for now. First impression: feels a lot smoother than default kernel! Going to test battery tomorrow after charging. Great work so far! :highfive:

Yes, a gamma fix would be awesome. Dark scenes in videos tend to be almost all black.
This kernel thread supposedly had a fix for old kitkat kernels. And there seems to be github sources for the fix:

Good. I was going to ask if you d be up for continuing and testing betas for me. To test I guess we'd need a dark scene on YouTube, like from a Batman maybe. But I haven't even looked at the code yet. I'll send you a PM when I have something.
Alright, just flashed the custom kernel, will report about my build and battery life on the weekend. Seems smooth and stable so far!
Would you add Multirom's support?
Was there any Multirom support before? It is the first time I hear it for the G Pad 8.3. It has little internal storage anyway and using an SD card would mean that you can't remove it. This is also very hard to test, since it takes a lot of tinkering with internal memory and microSD partitioning. @Maraudeur, do you have a link to a git repo for th G Pad 8.3?

Firstly, there is multirom by @beroid for long time yet. But he closed thread and doesn't support it anymore. Secondly, I have got HTC M8 with the same storage space - 16Gb and multirom runs very good on it. It's sufficient only two ROMs in most cases - stock and CM or AOSP.

The recommended settings are setup for both battery+multitasking. If you face any lag or drops then try you custom settings!
Less Battery backup:-
Use Greenify, try Uber build

This kernel exists because of the great kernel developers that we've been blesses with here in the Note 4 forums. Since they have moved on for the most part and their kernels are no longer being updated I'm going to try my best to fill that void. Along with being completely upstreamed to the latest Linux version it includes, what I think, is the best parts of all the kernels that we've enjoyed from the last several years.
As with anything on XDA, FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. While I do my best to test everything there just no way of knowing how a kernel might respond to your current setup. With that being said, PLEASE HAVE A BACKUP just in case

910F in the title- built with the DQI6 (SM-N910F) source code and for use on F model only and maybe G but that's not been tested that I know of.
Does not have 910F in the title- built with CQE1 (SM-N910V) source code and can be used with T,P,W8, and V.
Extended Battery in the title- for those that have the 10,000 mAh batteries to provide a more accurate reading on your battery percentage.

-Kernel Adiutor is not perfect. If you have a hotplug set to be applied on boot be sure to check on it after you reboot. Kernel Adiutor has a tendency to turn on two hotplugs.

Wake Controls
To get the wake controls working: Turn on the control you want to use in Kernel Adiutor and then, using a root file explorer, go to /sys/android_touch2/ then find the corresponding file ie doubletap2wake and open the file with a text editor. If the file says 0 change it to 1, if it's already one just save and exit. After that it should work every time until you turn it back off in KA. If you want to turn it back on just repeat the above process.
I consider this to be as good as the wake controls are going to get. They've never really worked reliably but at least with this way it does and to be honest I probably won't put too much more work into getting it any better. Sorry.
A step by step guide on how to change your file system to F2FS- See this post

Many Thanks!! Great work!! Success on the N910T with ApocalypseX_M rom.
One thing though I'm using the extended battery since I have a Kranich 9600mAH battery, in kernel Auditor it registers as 3200mAH. Not a huge deal to me, I'm fairly confident the kernel will eventually learn.

I've read that about the extended batteries in regards to kernel adiutor showing 3200 still. I think the app is reading something from the rom instead of the kernel. Race rom shows 3600 even with a stock kernel.
Like you said, it should even itself out after a bit. I think I read that it might take two battery cycles. Is that right?

When I was using RamKernel, it took about a week to adjust 100%. At first I'd run out and reboot & have 65%. Then 30, then 20, 10, 5 etc. So I think it's more than 2 battery cycles, but nevertheless it does eventually adjust.
Gonna go ahead and charge it overnight. I'll update with anything else. Other than that, great work my friend!

The 910V source is very similar to 910T. There's been a few users that have reported it working well for T.
