Since they split the forums, we aren't getting the traffic we had before.
Some of the fellow XDAers have captured the Verizon KK OTA update in .bin format that is 24A. We don't know if it is final or what it contains. We have been unable to flash it or force an update.
If any one is familiar with LG on a dev level and want to offer assistance, please visit us here:

Since the update is 24A, it might include some updates or features not in the earlier KK builds and could benefit all. More information is in the thread.

Hi,
I am currently searching for detailed information about the different firmware update processes (only those performed over the air).
I am especially interested in the security mechanisms used by the manufacturers (and operators?). I know that usually OTA updates are signed by the manufacturer (e.g. Android updates provided by HTC) - are there any details available on the data structure of the firmware packages?
Is the structure somehow standardized or is everything proprietary?
I assume that here on XDA-Dev there are a lot of people knowing those details but I did not manage to find the relevant information until now - could someone point me to the relevant threads/persons?
Thanks in advance,
AndroJ
Just figured I'de post this info I found on the website:
Code:
Notifications and updates: HTC One™ X+: Software update
Keep your smartphone running efficiently by using the latest available software.
As of April 2013, a new software version is available for the HTC One™ X+.
The update provides the following benefits and enhancements for your smartphone:
Bug fixes to improve Wi-Fi connectivity
Improvements for the Camera application to enhance photo quality
Minor bug fixes to address internal system errors
NOTE: Google is releasing this update in stages. Your smartphone will receive a notification when this update becomes available to you.
I know AT&T received an update as well so I'm not sure if they provide similar or the same fixes. Later today I'll flash back to stock to check it out and try to get a copy of the update file uploaded.
Noob question here-- I've rooted and am running elegancia...I take it I will have to wait for these updates to be incorporated into to the ROM by the dev (Steve0)?

If the updates and fixes haven't already been accomplished by the aftermarket rom/firmware.
This software update is just like the incremental updates a developer may issue with their rom. It's just on a much larger scale, and these updates aren't really something you need to be concerned with if you are running a replacement rom.
Do Not install it unless you're stock and have no intentions of using a custom rom in the near term.
Not working with custom roms right now.
My question goes to ROM developer. If we can make a flash-able zip files to install or modify files, why can we not only flash the updated files when ROM developers update their ROM?
For example the normal process is:
-Find ROM your like
-Download and flash full ROM(some LG G2 Roms are 1 gig in size)
-New update comes out
-Download full 1 gig ROM again and flash again
why can we not go
-Find ROM
-Download and flash full ROM
-New update comes out
-Download only the updated files (most likely a few MB's only)
-Flash them
Note: I am not a ROM developer so I do not know all the technical aspects that goes into making a ROM. This is why I am asking why something like this is not possible or we just don't do it.
Some roms do support incremental updates. The G2 roms probably aren't that stable yet.
We're just now starting to see an more and more custom 4.4 roms (even on the Nexus 5). Most were typically based off stock.
Once they get stuff ironed out, you should start to see some smaller updates.
1gb roms do sound unnecessary

Thanks. I was really wondering about that. So it is possible, it is just up to the developer.

I may be really off base here. But from past phones and roms it seems that some updates only work really well when built into the Rom. Some have used SVN to put out updates and then you build the Rom with the small update you download. I believe it all depends on how deep the update goes. Looking forward to see how far we can go with this phone. Tomorrow is my 14th day so I guess its a keeper.
CyanDelta does what you are asking for Cyanogenmod.
Consider this. A developer creates a ROM. You download and install it. Then, the developer wants to update it. If he uses a small incremental update, you can download and flash it. Then when it is updated again, you just flash the next update, and so on.
This is all fine and dandy, if you downloaded the ROM from the very beginning, prior to any updates.
If you find the ROM a few weeks or a month or whatever into development, it will likely have gotten at least a few updates. But in order to get to the latest stuff, you would have to download that first build, flash that, and then individually download and flash every update that has been released for that ROM until it is up to date. That is a pain.
If the developer just releases a whole new build for each update, both new and old users can flash it and be on the most current version of the ROM. Yes, it is a bigger file to download, but it saves quite a lot of headaches. Both for the developer and for the end users. Especially if a re-flash is necessary for some reason.
Or, the developer could do both, and create a whole new build, and a small update for the current users. But that would make for a big mess of files to keep and maintain, and could be confusing to make sure the right one is downloaded. Just creating all those updates and ROM builds and writing all the installation scripts sounds like a big pain to me. It's generally simpler to just build the ROM. Still, it does happen.
Just my thoughts, and I am not a ROM developer, so please correct me if I am mistaken about something.
Its a pain plain and simple. Who wants to look at hases to see if a lib changed and stuff. Its also simply more reliable to just keep each base its own then to start merging the two.
Can anyone tell me why are there roms up of to 1gb in size and yet most are just 200mb more or less.
Usually AOSP ROMs are going to be small. When you start to add in LGs ui, features, provider rubbish etc, they climb in size. Most of my Galaxy Note II ROMs were huge. My TWRP back ups would be around 3GB.

how to upgrade mashmalow coolpad 8297-L100 full step
Do you have marshmallow rom?If not you can't update your device.
Unfortunately due to the nature of these type of Android devices it is unlikely that they will receive the newer versions of the Android OS as the OEMs/Manufacturers usually ditch them shortly after the devices creation. Your best chance would be to keep an eye on this thread here to see if anything develops regarding Marshmallow
where I can download rom from official servers ? no 3rd app or something?

OnePlus 10T is getting its stable Android 13 update with OxygenOS 13
With an outdated security patch.

Just FYI, even the above link does not contain official OTA mirrors. OnePlus does not provide those anymore, the only way is to use Oxygen Updater. The App devs reversed engineered the OTA servers endpoints and are mirroring the download links.
You have to thank the Oppo merger for this nonsense. The last Phones they released full firmware for, directly on their site, is the 9pro. It's the same reason that MSM Tools ain't available either and we dont have an unbrick package for this phone.

If i had known there was no more MSMtool for current oneplus devices i wouldn't have bought my 10T 5G but alas it's too late already paid and got it, great phone ....bad company the way they've gone down the pay to unbrick route...shame on them. Oneplus does not exist anymore. Kinda glad i still got my mint 7T as a safe backup!.
