[Q] Restoring to stock MJ7 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey, so my mom is going to take over my S4 and I was going to return it to stock.
I of course went to this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
Then realizing that it doesn't have the MJ7 tar file for ODIN to flash.
Which one should I use? or could somebody link me to the MJ7 tar file? I looked around google and didn't find anything.
Thank you

Stuck in TWRP install on ME7

So, I am like many of the other noobs in here who tried to install TWRP through goomanager. I realize that this is not possible, and am paying for my actions. I have read on many threads like this one that by flashing the stock ME7 recovery onto the phone through odin I can get my phone up and running again. Only issue is that I cannot manage to find the stock recovery for ME7 to save my own life (or the life of my phone coincidentally). Could anyone help me by posting a link to the download? I certainly don't mind being marked an idiot if it helps me out or other people who do the same exact thing.
Thanks in advance guys.
Wait, are you on mdk or me7?

Thank you very much. Once again, to flash it, just open odin, click PDA (after connecting the device), select the downloaded file, then click start?

ODIN to stock?

I seem to have done something stupid. I wiped the stock tab in SafeStrap and after that the phone wont go past the splash logo.
Would I be able to flash back to stock through ODIN?

I can get into download mode, but I cant do much from there since I dont have anything on the SD card besides a ROM.
What build are you on? Here's a link for what you need if you are MJ7 or MK2.

These are tar images you flash in odin that take you back to stock. I would recommend the full wipe version.

Getting the Kitkat update from MJ4

If your on mj4 flash this in odin to go back to stock...unzip and use the tar file
http://www.mediafire.com/download/vpel3qh0xuzzfpu/SPR-N900PVPUBMJ4-20131028151254.zip
After when all done and booted up try searching for the update.
If it doesnt let u update (says device moded etc)...go to settings>backup and reset> do a factory reset...
Once booted up.... that take ota should be all done
Or

It would probably be much easier, to just flash the NAB tar, in Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655883. You'll be on the official KitKat 4.4.2, with all of the firmware updates. Use the TWRP recovery from the OP of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630514.

Yes. The end result is the same. I know insane209 has been helping you, but I offered the NAB odin route, on the first page of this thread. To me, it's much more direct.

I've read that the servers were overloaded, so they stopped the updates, and started rolling them out in stages. If what the 'internet' says is true, another 20% of users, will get the update Monday, and then another 20% sometimes after that.
If that's really the case, that probably explains why it says you're up to date (because you are up to date, based on what's available to you at that moment).

Your link has been shut down by drop box for too much traffic. Can you use androidfilehost.com?
I tried last night after the link got blocked the first time. I couldn't figure out androidfilehost. I think it's a daily thing with Dropbox so maybe try it tomorrow. Or maybe someone else can figure out how to host them elsewhere.

You can use Surges files from his thread to do the same thing. The directions are there too. I did not use the PIT file. Whenever I did that I got bad errors.

The new files gave me issues so I decided to upload the old files he posted that worked for me. I'm going to find another solution today for not being able to access the dropbox link.

Yea to be honest I am a little confused on what exactly I need to do to downgrade and then also with safestrap. I currently have an s5 but most likely I'm returning it because my friend gave me an s4. I've been reading up getting ready to root and everything but it seems there are different methods for downgrading so not sure what my best bet is...all I know is I am currently on NC5. From my understanding I have to downgrade..root..then go back to NC5 pre rooted and start with safestrap (however that's done) lol...I came from an s3 with an unlocked bootloader so this is all new to me ..any help would be appreciated
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Free mobile app
Just start out and download the downgrade file. If you need Odin I can upload that as well. Then you just put your phone in download mode. And put the downgrade file in the ap slot and click start. It will fail reboot the phone and then use the downgrade system file in the ap slot and it will complete. Then reboot the phone into recovery mode and wipe the cache and do a factory reset data wipe and you should now be on 4.3

You were either using the MK2 or the MJ7 Odin tar because their binary value is set to 5. Flashing either the NC2 leak or NC5 Odin tar will resolve your issues.

Beat me to it, for future reference you can't downgrade with Odin, anytime you have a failed flash in Odin with a binary value lower than fused value, that's exactly what your trying to do.
As Surge sort of mentions, the only caveat to that rule for our model is downgrading from mk2 to mj7, which have the same binary values because mk2 was a minor upgrade.
