[Q] Pre Order Back ordered - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I pre ordered the s5 from T mobile on 3/24/14 @ around 6pm PST, then I got an email from them the next day saying it was back ordered.
My question is who else pre ordered same day and got same email?
I Think they're just having to say that to everyone since they will get stocked soon?
If you didn't get that email, what time did you pre order? I hope we all get it on time!

what does your order show as your expected delivery date? i chose regular shipping (not thinking twice about it since pre-orders on Sprint shipped free and arrived the day of -or day before- launch) and noticed that my delivery date is 4/16.
when i pinged them on twitter, they told me it's because i didn't pay for expedited shipping. then they said their inside info suggested they'd get them out the door in time to arrive by 4/11.
just curious.

Mine said its "currently back ordered with no estimated delivery date. you will receive another message when in stock and shipped"

Mine ALSO showed a date around 4/16, I did ALSO select overnight shipping hoping it would arrive sooner ....day after, it showed "ground" shipping($6.99). I called tmo, they said that they're changing it for everyone since it really doesn't matter since we would "all" receive by 4/11 ,which means it might go out by 4/8.....Let's hope they keep their word!

You must have been one of the first ones to pre order? What time did you do it? Have you confirmed that what was shown on the invoice was actually charged? Remember, that they mention that you won't get charged until the item is shipped. So they might just switch it on us for a cheaper shipping price towards the end?

Yeah that was on the invoice at the time of order, on the order status page, and what I got in my email.
I preordered mine at 3 am EST on the first day possible.

the execution of this (as with all phone pre-orders) is abysmal. the info i got from t-mo tho does match what others are saying, regardless of the massive inconsistencies in their written communication.
- all preorders by today should arrive by 4/11
- tmo is advising customers NOT to pay for expedited shipping as it wont matter
- they are staggering shipments based on geography, inventory, etc. so people may get them sooner than 4/11
- all preorders show as "backordered" until shipped

as i mentioned above, i do not believe the scheduled delivery date means anything. all they are doing is taking the ship date in the system and adding 5-7 days.

yea the local stores say the 11th. customer care SWEARS no one is getting it till the 11th also.

The info on the website changed. It now says you can preorder by april 6th and get it "without waiting in line, guaranteed"

sounds like the pre-order demand was lower than planned.
