OK so I have had Sony Ericsson Xperia play for about a year its been a good phone but about a month ago I started having to press the power button more than once to turn it on. From there it only got worse I started having to press it 6 or 7 times but i knew it wasn't the power button because when it was off fully and i held down the power button it would vibrate as normal but would not boot. Its got the point now that it wont boot at all and the PC wont recognize it. So when it turned on after 27 goes I tried resting it with Sony update service it completed with success and reset my phone but didn't remove the problem so I tried following a guide on how to return it to stock using flash tool once again successfully completed the reset but didn't remove the problem. I've spent hours looking for a fix and found many people with the same problem but they fixed it with a update I hope I don't need to buy a new phone I liked this one any suggestions would be helpful thank.
First time at using these forums.

I have this phne for 2-3 weeks and it never run out of battery completely. Yesterday it did and when i plugged the charger it opened and it got stuck in the clock screen. No buttons are responding only the hard reset (power button and the middle one). The screen turns on and off every one minute. It is a mess...any help is appreciated!
Solved: Thank you guys for helping. I found that the solution was to download the Update Service from SE and follow EXACTLY the steps it mentions.
Steps:
1 Deactivate the phone for 30 secs. (in this case unplug the battery once it could not close normally)
2 plug the micro USB in the phone and then the USB to the PC
3 Before plugging the USB to the pc press the back button and hold it for as it takes. it takes a while. the the update service will start formating your software and it will be as new...notice that what the sd card contrains isn't deleted
realy ther is noone with the same problem? i start to worry. please could anyone say any opinion?
Hello,
try to start your phone in save mode and then deinstall your 3. party apps.
I think the failture comes from an app.
an app could also be the reason for a verly long boot time.
her some info's about the save mode: androinica.com/2010/08/06/how-to-activate-android%E2%80%99s-safe-mode-to-get-out-of-a-force-close-loop/
hope this can help you with your problem.
My suggestion to you would be to take it back to the place where you bought it and tell them to fix it... if it's only 2-3 weeks old they shouldn't argue.
I checked all the other threads on this and they don't seem to apply. I have an xperia s tablet that I really like. It was becoming slow so I finally decided it was time to root. Thanks Condi for the motochopper. I got it rooted successfully but then it was running too slow to be useable. I found a program to run that was supposed to rearrange the memory the way you defrag a computer drive. After running that the tablet would only turn on to the Sony logo. I did a factory reset a couple of times and now I can not turn on at all. I get the green charge light and I can get the red single blink when I do a reset but then when I press the power button I get the white light comes on and goes right back off. I tried with the up vol, down vol and no other keys but nothing. I have tried plugging into the computer and sometimes it sees a malfunctioning USB device and sometimes it sees nothing. I have run the xperia unbricker I found on here and it says waiting for device. I tried plugging it in with that program running but no luck. The only other post I found that was related the user said it was a motherboard failure. I'm not ready for that yet. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

So my sister's samsung galaxy s6 edge is in a weird type of bootloop freezing cycle, where it won't actually turn on but it can be restarted over and over again using the buttons.
A few days ago it restarted itself and froze a few times so she used the volume up and power key to restart it and it worked so she turned it off and left it for for a few hours and it worked again until yesterday.
Yesterday it started freezing again but the volume up and power keys no longer worked for restarting so she started to use volume down and power keys and by holding them in it restarted the phone. The phone would only stay on for a few seconds and then freeze again and she would have to restart it again.
Now it's got to the point where it won't even turn on and every time it's restarted it gets stuck on the Samsung opening screen like I've shown in the video.
I know the option here is to hard reset it but she has alot of videos and photos with sentimental value, so if there's a way to back it up before hard resetting it id love it know
Can anyone offer up a solution or 6 please? Appreciate it!

First thing... what model is i? G925? After i have this i can give you the best steps to take.
Its stuck in a bootloop and the easy fix is to boot to recovery and wipe data/cache then if not fixed flash the stock fimware. But there is a way to save the data. But i need the model.
And btw volume up and power does nothing. It will of just restarted due to holding power. Vol down and power is the correct way to boot to safe mode
Hello everyone, you see, my kid dropped my Moto Z like a month ago and since then, it had trouble charging, but, outside charging port issues, the thing was working fine until last week when it started to lag like crazy, apps stuttered, crashed every time I tried to delete or install any app.
today the thing rebooted itself and during the boost screen (the blue one that reads moto) there was a small text that said "Bootmode is not-factory", so once it restarted, I decided to do a factory reset, but now the phone is stuck in a bootloop, it flashes the boot screen accompanied by "Bootmode is "recovery" over and over again
anyone can give me a hand?

I dont know if you fixed or not but if you can enter the bootloader mode using the Power button + Volume down combo (hold them down) you can use this tool from motorola to rescue the phone. Assuming you can get it to stay connected via usb to your computer and you have access to bootloader shortcut
Hello.
First of I'm a fan of this forum for a couple of years now but never had a chance to have an account until now (Still a total newbie), anyhow I tried to fix it myself for weeks now searching and looking for almost everything I can both Google and here but no avail. desperate as I'm now I decided to start this thread.
My phone is Sony Xperia XZ1 G8342, the problem is boot looping as I stated the possible reason I think it's because of low internal storage (64GB) I used around 90%, and yes I did clean up the cache from time to time but its keep building up back again. I have had experience with this problem before (only once) around 5 months back it kept looping so I force shut down > turn it on again repeat this process for the whole morning and suddenly it's back to normal.
How it started.
I charge the phone and Google play probably automatically updates all the apps, which is really dumb of me to turn this function on, then it freezes and starts restarting.
My goal.
I know people will tell me just be done with it and re-flashing or use a Sony PC companion. but in this phone, there's a data that hold dear to me, I know this sounds stupid in some aspects and yes it's totally my fault for not backing up some of these data and still relying on a 5-year-old phone. But I hope to fix it without losing all of these data and at least be able to access it for backing up.
More info on my phones.
None root.
The phone can turn it on normally but it's will restart itself once it reaches the Xperia logo (FYI: booting > Sony logo > Xperia logo)
When connecting to the PC and holding volume up the led light will turn blue (I'm not sure if this is Fastboot mode or something else) PC will detect as Android devices when checked on Device Manager.
When holding volume down + power then keep holding volume down the phone will vibrate after reaching the Xperia logo but still to no avail.
Sim card and Sd card are removed, same result.
The battery is replaced about 2 months ago.
All other parts except the battery are original.
It can charge normally.
USB debug mode is off. (very unfortunate)
I don't think XZ1 has recovery mode which really sucks since older models have it and newer ones also have it.
Any solution or suggestion is very welcome here, I'm not a native speaker my apologies for that.
I don't want to list what I have done so far because the way I have tried might not be correct, I might miss some tiny details or maybe I could try it again if you guys suggest.
Regards.
