Can we increase ram in s3?

Have you tried turboboost?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133
This helped me a lot getting more performance on my device as well as ram increase
Do you have custom rom? Check the performance settings-Memory management

It is not possible to modify the hardware. You can try apps like Greenify to improve the performance. "RAM-boosting" apps are generally pointless since they cause battery drains and/or make performance worse.
Or you can even go for a custom rom like Slim, or Resurrection-Remix, or CM that have less RAM usage than stock Samsung roms.

frnds.. i want something(rom or kernel or anyting) that will give me 250mb ram(if 250 not possible then anything that will give me as much ram as possible)
But i also want the battery..
help me frndssss
don't think 250 is possible with ICS on 512MB.
some roms claim 200, like Zperience or Aroma? but i haven't tried can't confirm. i think anything over 100mb free after finishing boot is good.
the way Android uses RAM though this is maybe misleading, free RAM by itself isn't really useful, but i know what you mean..

Why you need so much free ram?
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
Try Terra Rom or stock rom with all crap deleted , free Rom doesn't mean that phone will be faster.

actually i just noticed on a brand new phone with sony official .54 ics installed, nothing removed:
200mb free RAM!
on first boot was 210mb, now is around 185mb on 3rd boot,
weird because i know after setting up apps and accounts etc, AND using Speedy Droid to remove lots of sony stuff, she had only about 50MB free, after a fresh boot. not sure why i have so much more now.
Having free ram is not achievement dude and neither it reflect your phone is fast, Epic

i know.
this phone is slow if you run many complex apps because 512MB is not enough for ICS (google target was 1GB).
free RAM after startup is still a rough guide to how much memory the base ROM is using. do you have a better suggestion?
the comment about 200mb on stock was because many 3rd party roms seem to think they've acheived something when they show 200mb free. i found this is almost same as stock.
I was answering OPs question: no, probably no fully functional ROM gives 250MB free after startup, but the stock .54 can give 200 ish before you install, configure or run anything. then you'll find you have very little free and things tend to get laggy.
if OP posted more specficially about his problem maybe someone can help further..
Hey, I was saying about post author and not you .

You don't get it, do you? Having free ram is not achievement and doesn't reflect how fast is your mobile, get your basics right

Free ram is wasted ram when it could be used to cache apps for faster loading, except when it drops to 0 and apps keep restarting.
Android is clever,

I've bought samsung S duos and fiund it better than many other devices .
There is only one simple problem , its ram is too low with running apps .
Can i increase its ram or not and if it possible , how ?
Thank u

Well it isn't physically possible to get more ram because the ram is soldered onto the board and can't be easily removed.

increase in ram is not possible(only by hardware changes)
but ram usage can decrease by dwleting floatwares which causes many processea
As stated above RAM is not changeable on Smartphones.
But you can root your phone and Flash a custom ROM which decreases the RAM usage by applying Optimization tweaks and removing bloatware.
thanx

Hi guys!
I'm sure you know why we can't get official jelly bean. Because we have only 512 ram. Since only 388 is user available, thats not enough for JB to run smooth. Well I'm not a developer, but as far as I know, Mali-400 is the black sheep here. It consumes 124mb ram. Isn't it possible to lower it's consumption like with Intel integrated graphics? I know it's kernel related, and I have only basic Java knowledge, but I'm sure someone can do this here, if this possible of course.
I'm sorry if this already been discussed, just trying to help somehow.
Download kernel spurce and check mali 400 gpu config, its pretty well explained how to modify it.

Actually unofficial port of JB runs pretty smooth on Xperia Sola

In one of the kernel threads for sola, guys tried change the amount of ram and make more ram available to user, but it only produces instability and graphical glitches.
In other device (s advance?) they tried to allocate about 400mb og ram to system! All works pretty good, but games force close rondomly due to the poorer ram dedicated to gpu
BTW, the best is to allocate 390mb to system!

I know that because mali is running in high texture quality mode,by lovering quality we can also increase performance and allocating more RAM to user/system.

It was definetely not S advance, it has 768mb ram, from which 625mb is available.

Yep, it was on experimental v8 kernel for XU
I was wondering this as well as I've got a raspberry pi and that let's you adjust the memory split between ram and graphics, personally I never plan on gaming on my phone, watching an SD film with my player or a bit of YouTube is the most taxing thing it will do, so that much memory seems a waste.
+1 good idea
I'm using galaxy ace 2 with small RAM..
I need some extra RAM space but my kernel doesnt support swap.. on the other side, swap could degrade my sDCard..
I tried SuperCharger V6 as a solution. But it doesn't help a lot. (Poor performance)
Any solutions or ideas to make my phone's performance better? Thanks for your attention

Buy an Oppo Find 5, and your performance will be 4x times smoother than your Galaxy Ace 2.

Having just had a quick read of the thread you linked, there are mixed reviews, and it's debatable whether it works for 4.4+ anyway. The only obvious way to boost performance the way you describe is to install a custom kernel and play with the settings such as over-clocking, and governor and i/o scheduler. As always this is a performance vs battery life scenario. I think the gains you will get with these build.prop mods will be slight at best
