Flash a file without booting into recovery - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need to flash a file that locks the bootloader. It contains Aroma Installer. Is there a way to flash it without booting into recovery? Something linke an app that flashes the file directly from the phone?

I would use the ADB commands to boot into recovery. Also might want to look into logcats to see what the issue is.

[Q] Followed tutorial, Unlocked Bootloader, Pda net, Superuser, still no root access?

Good morning guys,
Im not even sure where to start because im just getting into programming. I just tried to root my HTC rezound last night, so I followed the tutorial to the letter. Everything went very well by all accounts, except after unlocking bootloader, pda net, installed superuser, but yet when I try to verify that I have root access the phone does not recognise the root. Does anyone have any ideas why this could be? Ill be more than happy to post whatever information you might need in helping me figure this little problem out.
Thanks in advance!

Are you on Stock rom?
What Recovery?
s-on/s-off?
What process did you you use?

I'm not sure about a stock Rom, but I did a custom recovery and haven't touched s-on or s-off yet. I did unlock the bootloader and pda net using the walkthrough found at the htcdev.com /bootloader site. I don't know if I just need to find another walkthrough to finish the rooting process or if I'm way off here. The phone itself still works as good as ever so at least I didn't brick it. I feel like I'm close or at least on the right track.

pull your battery and re insert it.
hold vol down button and power until you get the white bootloader screen
The top should say unlocked in pink
if you have a custom recovery it will also say tampered in pink
since you are new and not sure, to continue we need to verify this
what does it say?

Doesnt matter what recovery. Just as long as it is a custom recovery.

Download/Flash this in recovery NOT FASTBOOT

Then install Busybox using this app

Inside the app choose /system/bin at the top checkmark replace all symlinks choose install then choose smart install.

Computer doesn't recognize it at all, or just lgnpst? Lgnpst doesn't work with USB 3.0 if that helps explain it.

Check device manager too. If it shows as QSUSB Dload it is a hard brick that can't be fixed with lgnpst.
What is it doing exactly, have you tried getting to recovery with button combo?

I wonder if you could get adb to recognize phone. If so you could fastboot flash a different recovery, or adb push a zip to internal storage.
Does it boot to the splash screen? If so have you tried a factory reset using button combo?

Bricked Two Phones, need help

Hey!
I accidentally bricked two of the exact same phones, and I dont know how to unbrick them. They both are Samsung SGH-T959V's. They are pretty old, and I wanted to put a newer OS on them. Here is what is wrong with them:
Phone 1: Can boot into TWRP but when I try doing anything, it just gets stuck, forever.
Phone 2: Screen has multicolored lines all over it. Kinda like tv's when you go to the wrong channel.
I would be really grateful if anyone can help.

The multicolored lines are due to not having the GB bootloader.

Always go with the recommendation of the installation notes. Just think about it in the terms of tools. You might need a phillips head screwdriver to fix something, but they make different sized ones for the job...

[Q][SOLVED]Bricked phone

Help me anyone.
Today i wanted to update twrp on my z2
When rebooting the twrp-light (green) went on, i tried to access it, but it skipped.
Then i tried to flash a CWM-recovery to reflash and restore the backup.
Now i cannot acces that recovery either. It skips, goes to boot-logo and bootloop.
Hope anyone has a clue what happends and can help me. @Envious_Data, do you have an idea?

1. Bootloader is unlocked (needed for twrp)
2. Use flashtool and a FTF to recover your device

This one is to be flashed to boot and is for unlocked bootloaders
The OP post one is to be flashed to fota

Forgot to rename framework-res.apk after I themed

Yeah um I was changing some things in framework-res.apk and I forgot to change it back and now my phone just stays on the boot animation.
I have a rooted Sony Xperia m5 and I would like to know is there anyway that I can somehow access the phones folders while its in this state so I can rename it or just something to get it going again without losing all of my data because I have something kind of important on it. Any help is appreciated
If you have root then just use ADB to rename the file. There are plenty of tut on how to do this.
