Is it true that you can only root KK lg g2 but no custom recovery?
I have root my g2 on D80220b-EUR-XX with ioroot25 without problem...
I performed the update kitkat with ota (520Mo)
before I was with 4.2, root with vroot but I lost root with this update

im trying to root my stock kk with ioroot25 when it reboots into recovery, the recovery screen flashes for 1 second then automatically reboots...doesnt give me the option to accept install from adb so it keeps failing on me

I can confirm that ioroot v25 works on stock KK on LS980. Just follow the instructions on the screen.

Does this root KK or just works on KK?
I used ioroot25 on JB and took a KK OTA to retain root... but I didn't think KK was rooted yet.

Anyway this loki fix is made only by LG, because new One M8 and Z2 have KK and they are already rooted and have custom recovery installed. Is it correct? Is it a choice of LG?

Yes thi metod work for me but, you don't use stock kernel, if you install a recovery on kk you must install a custom kernel, i suggest furnace 2.0!

If all he wants is root, ioroot is all he needs! 24 for 4.2.2, or 25 for 4.4.2.

I don't know but with original kernel with custom recovery i had a bootloop, when I flashed the kernel furnace, the rom boot!

Who said he has a custom recovery? All he mentioned was that he's on stock Kitkat.

If you want ROOT and CUSTOM RECOVERY you DO need custom kernal

Nothing yet that Im aware...even Motorolas web site only has the last OTA. They dont even have this one listed yet...
We will see!!
Oh well. I guess this Update isn't that important is it? If I have to go through the hassle of relocking and unrooting. Is there really a benefit?

Ive always been a very optimistic person when it comes to updates. Im sure they dont release an update but to release...Im sure there are benefits. Once a changelog is discovered, we will all know!

Someone reported on my thread that the update stalled using Alien Rom...
I was using stock + torpedo root and my update went fine...Lost root of course but got it right back with torpedo again.

No problem and yes mine is still locked. The other guy that had the issue was unlocked though.

You can be rooted and do the update and be fine...but if you are unlocked it may or may not take. Lots of risk involved unlocked. I would flash back with the last OTA and lock and unroot, re-root, flash this OTA adn then unlock and reroot again. Yeah...its a lot of work...but that what flashing is all about, right!!

I managed to upgrade to this OTA. But I deliberately realise the fact that the CDT may go up to a higher version, so I am still waiting reports from other users.
Don't wanna play a phone without root, haha!
PS for those who upgraded to this OTA, please tell whether the USB connection problems have been fixed or not, thx!
PS2 Can you have the correct SBF file being uploaded as well? File transfer speed from chinese online disk is a bit slow..

There's no problem with usb storage, you might doing smth wrong or doesn't use BMM.
5? I won't upgrade cause I don't want to stuck on this version. But I got an idea. What if one substitute this OTA's cdt.bin with earlier one? From 67.213.6.XT910.ChinaRetail.en.CN for instanse. Just a thought, don't try if you dunno whatcha doing.

Can you connect the USB storage of your razr to PC?
For me, I can't...
replacing the cdt is not possibile as you cannot flash over the system

Of course I can. I have my CID erased and I use Boot Menu Manager to boot the system. And I don't use BP Tools at all.

A modified OTA can't be flashed, a valid digital signature is required.

Bootloader cannot be unlocked that way. No chance
I think i will do it......i have nothing to lose since i allways use china roms (i wont Care to stay on this one).

u cant replace a file inside a ota it has md5 check and if u actually modify the zip the signature on it may change and wont work at all...(actually i could have patched everything on my pc and put it back on the phone...but im a savage!)

Make sure ur phone is plugged in and on usb debugging mode
1. Click "1.Flash Kernel", your phone will reboot to bootloader and auto flash custom kernel
2. Once the phone is on, click "2. Push supersu", it auto push supersu.zip into /sdcard
3. Click "3. Enter Recovery", your phone will reboot to cwm recovery.
4. Use recovery to flash Supersu.zip (under /sdcard/0/)
Enjoy ur Root.
You can also unlock or flash kernel to your phone by this tool

Just one question, My phone boot-loader is locked and I want to keep my TA partition untouched, so I can use X-Reality in movies and so on.
With this method, can I root the phone (290) with locked bootloader and keep my TA partition untouched?

Great job! Rooting works well. Can't seem to be able to unlock the device but this is beta so I will wait a little longer. Just keep me posted if you have any clue on why the unlocking part keeps saying that it failed because my device is already rooted when it is not.

Never, NEVER, flash something to a GPe from the normal C68xx range.
At best you will pull your hear out, at worst you will end up with a very expensive waterproof coaster. There have been 3 or 4 hard brick of the GPe from people flashing the wrong things to their GPe.
Files for the GPe will be labeled as such and will most often be in the GPe dev section

Still read all the flashing stuff etc as that will still pertain to the GPe of the ZU, you just cant flash any of the standard files

I used kies in the UK to update to Indian NA5. Had the same info when I tried ota

How come you made possible friend via kies. The software updates only itself rather than updating my phone. I got the same message. You have the latest firmware.

try flashing balliboxer's pre-rooted rom.
It gives you root access.
No dude I don't want to root at present. Formally waiting for official kitkat update.

you sure we'll get that?
I mean I have heard nothing about it and also even if it comes it'll take a long time as S4 will probably start getting kitkat update from next week, then there's s3,note2 etc.
Even if grand2 gets kitkat update it'll not come before 3-4 months.

Make sure that you have "USB Debug Mode" enabled from the developer settings
Extract and Run install.bat
Plug the phone to USB port
Confirm the dialog on the phone screen
Wait for 10 seconds to rooting complete.
Install SuperSU from Google Play
Reboot ( I don't know if it's necessary)
****** RECOVERY ******
Download ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer.zip (9.75MB) from NUT's Download Page/
Extract to any folder
Run Install.bat
Select Option 1
Installer will prompt for any key DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY
Allow any root access requests on your phone screen
Find NDS Utils App from your phone (newly installed) and start it
Choose one of the recoveries and go back to home
After that press any key from computer to continue installation
ZU will reboot to recovery.
Restart to system and you are done!!!

EDIT: updating right now, I'll be back after using Towelroot again and installing Dual recovery...
Interesting that the version change from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 update is being done via an ota patch, you'd think (as per other updates) this would be a full pc ftf update..
Dammit, didn't know I couldn't update with Sony bridge if I was on an unlocked bootloader.
I want this 4.4.4 now ?

Just FYI, Easy Towelroot (v7) works a treat with 4.4.4, everything goes like it's supposed to.
Also installed dual recovery from NUT's repository, and currently running every xposed module I was running on 4.4.2.

Hi fasty, I've changed build prop to match yours on a full reflash of 757 {which I then towelrooted} - plugged in pc companion and hey presto 4.4.4

I have a minor issue with gravitybox BTW, when I pull down the statusbar, custom carrier comes up both at the top and at the bottom of the screen... I'm not sure if it's full screen related (I use pie control with no status or nav bar), have a try...

Easy Root is @v7, looks like he mixed it up with Towelroot since Towelroot has to be copied to the files folder of Easy Root.

Version of NUT's recovery is the last beta, can't remember the number...
@op edit the first post, you need to have USB debugging enabled, otherwise it doesn't recognize the device...
How do i get the ota on my c6806? I know its released here. Thank you.
I'll try and make an ftf.. I'm back on 4.4.2 monx but pc companion still says update is available due to my build prop edits..
I'll try and do a "repair" 4.4.4 install and make the ftf off the full downloaded (which repair does but update doesnt).
