Problem during calling it stays black screen - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Anyone have the same problem during calling? The screen stays black after putting it in the face and after call end I still need to push the power button 2-3 times to turn the screen on back.
P.S.
I am using Official Kitkat version non-rooted.

Sounds like a bug. Re-flash or repair it in PCC or do a factory reset and see if that fixes it.

Ok I will try to repair through PC companion. I think I am the only one having this kind of problem because I have been searching the forums to look for solution. Until now I can't find anything having the same bug.

Yup, that's true. Are you using a screen protector on top of the anti-shatter film? If yes, the solution is probably calibration, which is very easy.

How can I calibrate the proximity sensor? I haven't done PC companion repair because my Internet connection was so slow. And yes iam also using generic screen protector which doesn't have a hole in proximity sensor. That's why I want to try fixing calibration proximity sensor first.

It seems, that calibration feature has gone, it's not present anymore on KK

I can confirm that the cause of my problem was the screen protector. I removed it now and my phone is working fine now. Thanks to those who help me.

I cannot see the calibration feature either.
I have no screen protector, the cell is clean and quite new. I tried xperia disgnostic and it tell me the proximity sensor is always detecting something. I tried calibrating the sensor with *#*#7378423#*#* but the ability to calibrate is not present only the testing. According to sony pc companion i have the latest version. I just resetted my phone to make sure it was not the problem.
Build Number: 14.3.A.0.757
android 4.4.2

I suggest to revert back to JB 4.3 to do calibration. Then try again flash Kitkat and look if it works.

XPERIA z Ultra Screen calibration problem

Hi guys...
I bought Xperia Z Ultra just couple of days back. I was excited about having it but the party was ruined when.I realised that it has Calibration problem. (Bought without Warranty)
See if some of you guys has the same problem and can suggest some fix:-
1- Dialing the wrong number from Call Logs.
2- Sometimes the keyboard goes crazy while Drafting email and start typing multiple alphabets I.e. eeee /dddd / ooooo etc.
3- Lag in registering Touch especially on Phone dialing.
Kindly help me with the solution if you have or had the same issue

Which firmware are you on? Had lag with touchscreen. So you should look if you can update your phone.
Also go on Settings/About/test device. There you can test everything on your phone and see what go wrong.

I am latest firmware 14.1.B.1.510. Recently updated.
I tested the device as you said and it seems fine there... But the problem is still bothering me and making my phone almost unusable.
It seems pure display calibration problem

[question] auto screen off

Hi friends, I'm looking for app that would automatically send my phone to sleep when I close the lid of my pouch. Is there anything like this available on market?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes try air swiper.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 4
Any app which uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen off would work, however this would also mean it would happen whenever the sensor is covered.
Also just found this in the same section...
Automaton Gestures
Have a look/search first, usually you'll find what you're looking for

[Q] How to keep the screen on while charging?

Hello guys,
A happy and lucky Z2 owner here. I just wonder if there is any chance to keep the screen on while charging it (on the dock)?
I tried to find that option in Settings but couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Doesn't sony have an app called Smart Connect for this type of stuff? If I remember correctly, you can open Smart Connect and set a condition (attaching to dock) and an action change screen time.
I can't test and give you specifics as I'm on AOSP right now.

If you wish to use it as a beautiful photo frame while it charges I recommend using this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cloudtv.dayframe
Tap on your build number 7 times to activate developer mode. Once in there, there is a setting to keep screen awake while charging.

It seems you have a faulty proximity sensor, go through Diagnostics and see what's the result?

That's it! It vibrates even if I'm not blocking the sensor.
Any idea on how to fix this? Do I have to flash anything?

Nevermind I just found the problem. It was my screen protector that was causing this problem with my proximity sensor.

Restore stock FTF using flashtool and we user data, then re-diagonoses, if it still mal-function, it should be a hardware issue.
