Hey guys,
Like temhe title says my flashlight isn't working properly.
When I updated my phone to Android 4.2.2 my flashlight isn't as good as it should be.
When I did this update my phone wasn't rooted, not bootloader unlocked but just the stock HTC One X+.
After a long time it started bothering me and I called HTC helpdesk. They told me I had to send it for reparation. And I was like: hell no! Because I just rooted it and didn't want to reverse everything just because of this flashlight.
Maybe you guys can help me out because I think it is software related.
Before the update it was working, after the update it went like this. (See picture)

Left one is mine, and the right one is from one of my classmates and he has the same phone. And the same software.
Any suggestions? No I'm not sending it back to HTC.

The left is yours?
What apps are you using to enable the flashlight?

On that time we both used the same build-in HTC Flashlight app. Though it looks like one of the lamps in it is broken since the light is coming from the bottem. :S

You can still check other flashlight apps. If nothing changes then it is a hardware issue.

Already did that, so it will be a hardware problem then..
Which means the update killed my Flashlight.

It's hard to believe that an update may have damages your flashlight.

I am quite sure. I had sence 4 on it with Android 4.1.2 when I got the phone and after the update to 4.2.2 it stopped working properly.

Anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks
It's a hardware problem, you will have to RMA. There are plenty of threads about this in Q&A.

Tolian at the Transformer Forums posted a procedure to get the camera going again. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Open your camera program. See bad green screen or something unrecognizable. Open Options. Change quality to 3 Mps. Change sides to 16/9. Turn focus to "far away" (not auto). Press by your finger to back camera with some power for 5-7 seconds. Move finger away. If it's - have a fun! If it's not - press again. Open Options. Change quality and sides back for your pleasure. When you make photos you can turn on "Auto focus", but when you turn off camera program you should change in options focus to "far away" (not auto). I hope it will be fixed in Andriod 4.0.4.

These are different issues from what was posted in the OP of this thread so I suggest that you search the Viper3D ROM thread and post them there if they haven't already been identified.

ok thks..
Hiya!
So I've been using Lloir's CM10.1 ROM for a week or so. Everything is more or less fine, but there is one problem that does bother me... Has anyone else encountered something similar?
First, the screen doesn't light up when someone is calling. Phone rings, but screen remains off. Pressing the power button works...
Second, the phone "freezes" from time to time. I've noticed this a couple of times while listening to some music(PowerAmp)... The phone won't turn on. Power button does nothing. Music keeps playing, but that's it, nothing else. Have to reboot to use to phone.
Using CM10.1 with maxwen's kernel. Dialer is stock, if that matters. Player is PowerAmp with a lossless source. I'd get a logcat, but I can't seem to get it to freeze when I need to, heh...
Thanks for the help!

grab the latest build, you are on an old version now, let me know how that goes.
Ta, will do. Noticed that there is a new build yesterday, but didn't really have the time to flash...
Should I also grab the latest kernel? I think there was a newer build as well?

Gotcha, thanks!

well - the "screen not turning on" issue ist nothing "new"
and happens randomly on most tegra kernels - also for the HOX
the exact issue is still unknown and under "investigation"
you can try disabling S2W - it may make a diff
I haven't been messing around with a HTC Device since 4.0.4 on the OneX and I wasn't sure if HTC ever added a Do Not Disturb/Blocking Mode to sense 4+ or this latest version of sense.
Does anybody who has a One (or can go play with one) know if there is such a mode?
Thanks!
Just bought mine yesterday. Prior Inspire 4G user. Now, the One has the ability to add numbers to a blocking list if that is what you mean.
If not, let me know and I'll keep looking.
I am sure what he means (and what I want to know too) is if it has a "Do not Disturb" option like the iPhone has. Where you can set it to ON and then tweak the settings. For example, I have my iPhone on Do Not Disturb and the settings are 11:30PM to 7 AM so no messages/calls/etc make no sound in that time frame. I played with the One a bit, but did not find such feature. I am sure a ROM does have it or there must be a way to get it. This being my first Android, I have not figured it out yet.
Oh, I know what you mean. Stock androids don't have that. But every ROM I flashed on my Inspire did. Of course it was rooted. I may root this one in a couple of weeks though.

I know aosp roms (Like CM10.1) have a feature called quiet hours. You might want to look into that.
Check out the app called seer in the play store. It's what I use. I used dnd on my lg Optimus G. I missed having it.
There's nothing built-in.
I'm using tasker for this. If I'm charging at night, I turn auto sync off to stop checking for notifications while still allowing calls.
it's built into htc sense 5.5

Cant believe that this is normal, but when I scroll, the font/icons become blurry. I googled about it and the only answer I found is, that old Amoled had this problem. But even my Galaxy S3 is crystal clear when scrolling. It's like a motion-blur effect in vertical direction when scrolling vertically.
Do you have this problem too? Actually it's one some of my old displays too, but I dont expect it on an IPS panel from 2016...
Try this
Settings/Developer Options/ Tick on "Force GPU Rendering" this should make your Android phone smoother/snappier!
If root available try L Speed/Entropy/fstrim apps found on Play Store!
LG G5 & LG V20 are snappy beasts and are well optimised with Snapdragon 820 and is better than Samsung.
Thanks for posting this standard answer again like you did before on another thread No this does not do anything, like I told you before. No it's not rooted, and trim does not affect how the display works. Are you even posting stuff you copy paste from somewhere else?

You see the double frames, in my oppinion the display just has not 60hz/fps or has horrible input lag / refresh timings.
