[TUT]Add SECONDS to STATUS BAR CLOCK in 2 STEPS! - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Themes and Apps

In this thread, i am trying to show you how to add SECONDS to STATUS BAR CLOCK!
How to install:
First step for everything you do is Create a nandroid backup and make sure you know how to restore it!
I'm not responsible for anything you do with your phone/tablet etc.
There is also the risk to soft-brick your device. In such a case, restoring a backup is the easiest way to get rid of it..
STEP 1: (NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED XPOSED THEN LEAVE STEP 1)
For the framework:
1. Download the Xposed Installer APK http://www.mediafire.com/download/mhm12u9cuzjztdx/de.robv.android.XPOSED..installer_v28_8b8a7e.apk and install it
2. Launch the Xposed Installer, go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update"
*In case you get a Segmentation Fault error, please install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51314174&postcount=9912 additional app (not needed if the installation worked fine).
3. Reboot
4. Done!
*You can verify this by starting the Xposed Installer again. If app_process jumped back to an older version (or none at all), you probably have a ROM with S-On or similar, which reverts any changes to /system after a reboot. Use installation via recovery in such cases.
In case you get into a boot loop:
First, try using the safemode by pressing any hardware key repeatedly. You can find a short explanation how it works here.
If that doesn't work, you can flash the attached Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip http://www.mediafire.com/download/i2a5pb9kiy9amcb/Xposed-Disabler-Recovery[1].zip by Tungstwenty. It will be copied to your (external) SD card when you install Xposed as well. The only thing it does is copying /system/bin/app_process.orig back to /system/bin/app_process, which you can also do yourself (e.g. with adb shell in recovery mode).
STEP 2 :
AFTER XPOSED HAS BEEN INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY -
1. Download this file http://www.mediafire.com/download/c7z4ibot7tx212g/XuiMod_2.2.1.apk After downloading install it.
2. Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" section (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet).
3. Enable the module by checking the checkbox,
4. Reboot
5. Done!! :good:
NOTE: FOR SECONDS DO THIS NOW,
OPEN THE MOD>CLOCK MODS>ENABLE SECONDS!
(RESTART SYSTEMUI if no change)
In case you get into a boot loop:
First, try using the safemode by pressing any hardware key repeatedly. You can find a short explanation how it works here.
If that doesn't work, you can flash the attached Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip by Tungstwenty. It will be copied to your (external) SD card when you install Xposed as well. [TUTORIAL] How to remove ads with AdAway

Since removing ads from browser and apps was one of the main reasons to root my DX I decided to make this tutorial. Problem is you can't just install AdAway (link) and run it because after a reboot you'll have to do it again. This method is keeping the ads away even after a reboot. Remember that you'll have to update AdAway-hosts files regularly.
All credits go to Yasir Javed Ansari. I only finetuned the method he described a little bit. Because his post is somewhere in another thread it seemed right to make a tutorial for it in the themes and apps section.
First of all you'll need a properly rooted DX with superuser 3.1.3 installed. See here for a zip to install superuser and busybox or here to download a pre-rooted 1.18 stock deodexed rom with superuser and busybux installed provided by infernal77. I'm using this rom on my DX and removed a lot of bloatware with Aroma (link) right after flashing the rom. Credits go to merovig for sharing info about flashable superuser/busybox-zip and Aroma and of course to infernal77 for providing his deodexed stock rom. Although it seems that this method shouldn't be necessary when using a deodexed rom I couldn't get it to work without using the command lines, so I decided to share it anyway.
In settings - power, uncheck 'fast boot'.
Install AdAway from Play Store. Run AdAway (don't download hosts files yet) and go to settings - preferences. Check 'allow redirections' and under 'target hosts file' select '/data/data/hosts'.
Reboot to recovery and then mount /system and mount /data.
While in recovery-mode connect the device to a PC and open a command prompt.
Type:
adb shell
cd system/etc
rm hosts
ln -s /data/data/hosts hosts
Disconnect the device from PC and reboot.
Now you can run AdAway: download files and apply ad blocking.
Done!
Nice one, added to Index.
@op, Good job.
Although my tutorial was word by word the same, apart from maybe few spelling mistakes. ;p
Above is required for Stock Rom which is rooted.
On custom and rooted Rom , you don't need to perform above steps as system is write permitted so running ad away normally works fine.
Regards
Yasir

Hehe I know, the only thing I added was the /etc
Problem is that when I install for example infernals rooted stock deodexed rom, and then I install AdAway and hosts files, they don't survive a reboot. When I redirect the hosts file to /data/data/hosts AdAway states it can't create the symlink. That's why I still use your method even on a pre-rooted rom.

This symlink method(not mine) is present in ad away FAQs. So credit to the app team.

Nice guide, first time I'm adfree, even after a reboot
did anyone get it working on desire x... mine still shows ads in apps...
I don't know, after all I'm an amateur, but the problem nightcrow described about how stuff goes back to stock after a reboot is something that happens a lot with the DX's - same thing with the bloatware. I had to remove the bloat apps from a rom.zip and flash that to avoid the problem. Seems to me there is some kind of security built in that goes beyond the norm. Otherwise I don't see why apps like Titanium work to remove apps (even after reboot) for example on most other phones, but not the DX.
Meherzad, I followed the instructions posted by nightcrow and it works for me ... try again, reboot and open an app you know normally has ads to check if it works.
Failed first time (forgot to uncheck fast boot:banghead. Reinstalled and did everything again, now works flawlesly.
ok.. working great......

It doesn´t works for me...It may wont work because i have superuser v3.2?
Might be but I'm not sure. I'm on 3.1.3 and it works fine. Although getting ADB to work in twrp recovery is a bit of a struggle for now.
What exactly doesn't work for you?

Why do you need ADB when you have TERMINAL in twrp. Just wondering
Anyhow, ADB will be fixed soon
Thanks for the tutorial works great with Superuser 3.2. Just to clarify something, should I leave "fast boot" mode off now?

[root] i545vrufnc5 verizon galaxy s4

Your comprehensive guide to rooting the NC5 and fixing it if/when something goes wrong
To start out I found it very time consuming to find the 'right' information on rooting the NC5 or that it wasn't possible. So I went on the mission to see if i get what was out in the wild to work.
Well I figured it out and I hope this helps!
Step One: Charge your phone! In the event we need to use Odin to fix a boot-loop/soft-brick.
Step Two: Check your version number. As the title suggests this method is only for Verizon Galaxy S4 NC5!
(ENABLE USB DEBUGGING AND UNKNOWN SOURCES IN SETTINGS BEFORE PROCEEDING)
Step Three: Time to download the tools we will need to get this done. Place these files on your SD card. This is the only time you will need your computer. CLICK IT> ONE STOP SHOP
Towel Root: Okay, this is version 1 of the app. I know there are newer versions but they don't work and this does so use it. Select and install. Open the app and select 'make it rain', your phone will reboot and base root has been achieved!
Super User: Select and install. Open the app and install the SU binary at the prompt. The app will also ask to disable KNOX, if you do the app might hang. Home button out and try again after a reboot. Eventually it will work though a bit funky at times.
Safe Strap: Select and install. Open the app and select 'install recovery'. After it installs reboot to the recovery by selecting 'reboot to recovery'. When the recovery loads select the backup option and make a backup!
This is our recovery and allows nandroid backups(you should have done this) and flashing of safestrap ROMs. The bootloader is locked on this phone so no flashing of CM11 or any custom kernels. Do some research before you start flashing things!
Well that was easy! Now you have a rooted and safestrapped NC5 S4!
FAQ\INFO
This recovery is BETA and does not support ROM slots. Everything must be done on the STOCK slot. MAKE A BACKUP!
Nandroid backup and restore is working completely with this recovery!
If you remove Samsung Hub auto rotation will break. Attached is the library file that fixes this. Extract libgnustl_shared.so from the attached zip. Copy and paste to System\Lib and change permission to rw-r--r--. I use Root Explorer, though not free is a very good file manager. There are free alternatives on Google Play.
CREDITS DUE!
HASHCODES< Safe Strap!
CHAINFIRE< Super SU!
GEOHOT< Towel Root!
Thank you for your work. But I have a few major points to address with this:
1. There is a newer, stable SAFESTRAP out (3.75), this one also supports ROM slots, and doesn't corrupt the Non-HLOS Partition.
2. Version 3 of TowelRoot is out, and alot more stable/clean than Version 1.
3. SAFESTRAP really should be installed after busybox is installed, which you did not recommend.
The Samsung Hub Auto Rotation bug is a very nice find though! Thank you for that.
Hey thank you! I will update accordingly.
However TowelRootv3 would not root my phone. I tried changing the strings, the app just states the phone isn't supported.

[FIX/GUIDE] Viper4Android Nexus 6p

I have been relentlessly trying to fix the drivers that couldn't install, even when I installed it. So I have finally found a fix tinkering with my system folder. I will be posting a guide + the fix so scroll down to the appropriate section! I understand that other people posted the guide but I wanted to share my own way of doing it
Pre requisite s:
Busy box
Root (non systemless because it didn't work for me on systemless)
={ GUIDE }=
1) Install Viper4Android either from other posts or from the download links below which is a flashable zip with a dark theme
2) Download SELinuxEnforcing from the download link below and install it, THERE WILL BE A WARNING FOR SOME THAY IT CAN HARM THE SYSTEM, PRESS READ MORE OR SIMILAR AND PRESS INSTALL ANYWAY. THE APP WAS JUST REMOVED FROM PLAY STORE AND THIS HAS NO HARM THAT IT CAN INFLICT!
3)Go to SELinuxEnforcing and accept root permission then press on the permissive button.
4) Download root browser from the Play Store created by JRummy.
5) Alright ready for the fun part, reboot into Recovery mode TWRP
Decrypt your device( if you have it encrypted)
6) Press install and locate to the area that this v4a zip is located ( mostly /sdcard/downloads)
6) Press and install the zip
Reboot into device
7) Go into viper4android and install the driver
8) Reboot and after if you DO not see any installed driver, move on to the FIX section!
_——_
Pre requisites[FIX] + pre installed by you :
Busybox[GUIDE]
Root[GUIDE]
SELinuxEnforcing[GUIDE]
Root Browser
={ FIX }=
Got Root? Anyway, looks like its still saying Driver not Installed even though you installed it.
1) Now there's a very easy fix. Given that you have root browser following on from the guide or sliding through to this section taking a look at the pre requisites, go into it.
2) You will now be welcomed with a lot of folders. Locate to
system then vendor then etc then you will see audio_effects.conf that is interrupting the drivers.
3) What you want to do now is to long press it, which will pop up with various options, press rename and change .conf to .bak which will disable the configuration script but keeping it backed up for if anything that goes wrong.
4) Reboot and voila! Your drivers should say neon activated and etc.
PRESS THANKS IF IT HELPED AND WORKED SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE ITS VALIDITY
Read here too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2952137 I've been using Viper Atmos for a week or so now ever since the op made it work perfect with Nexus 6p.

Installing xposed

*******KennyG change this to how you need it, I'm just getting the knowledge out. I don't wish to steal credit or work******
Hello fellow xda members, I have used many other sites but haven't been on xda since my droid bionic days... I didn't give up on the v10, i contacted tung and here we are!
Any hoo the method was created by the 6th_Hokage for the boost stylo and it works with a little tweaking on our devices.
Follow the prerequisites from his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-xposed-boost-stylo-5-1-1-t3192494
Here they are for quick glance
Required:
Root
Busybox installed on the device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....busybox&hl=en
Script Manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tmanager&hl=en
Package needed Xposed Boost Stylo.zip: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347813218
Extract the stylo zip to the root of your internal storage
you should see the installer script file and the xposed zip package
download corresponding xposed zip and installer apk
(v80sdk22arm64) and (3.0 alpha 4)
rename the v80sdk22arm64.zip to the v72 found on the root of the sd from the Xposed Boost Stylo.zip
then run it following the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-xposed-boost-stylo-5-1-1-t3192494 by kakashi aka the6thhokage
5- Open Script Manager and navigate to the installer file (script) and chose script, su then press save .
6- now select the same script and press run and choose the option according to what you want (Yes/No)
7- Wait for the script to finish, now go to Xposed Installer apk that you installed before and select soft reboot (it will turn off just power back on)
8- After restart and you may use Xposed properly
soft reboot and there ya go! Ill add more stuff when I get time
thanks peter muzyka
hey the errors don't hinder it and use kernel auditor to set permissive on boot. I also would like some coffee funds if you feel the need paypal [email protected]
I get this error message when I try to install
it should continue to run, make sure you renamed the xposed zip to the same name as the one in the file and have it placed on the root of your internal storage
I renamed the file and put the folder in the internal storage
As a zip not folder all on the root of the sd. I'll make a all in one after I get with romracer and 6th hokage
got it working. thanks.
@THADDIUS25
Like superdallas said, you must put the files from zip into root of internal storage. your screenshot is showing you put the files under "Xposed+Boost+Stylo V2"
Also did you download v80sdk22arm64 then renamed it? you can find download link from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Need to fix Google Play Store links =)
I just used the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/install-xposed-framework-to-lg-spirit-t3226809
Clearer steps by playadru182 below: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66015228&postcount=48
Also, if anyone is getting a second screen error when making calls after installing xposed. Don't forget to follow @tattedup 's tutorial on second screen fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/xposed-fixes-screen-t3246515
It doesn't continue to run in my case, it just shows it can't create /proc/self/fd/
Like this?
http://imgur.com/A1FbNtS
Yeah, it does exactly like that.
Make sure Busybox is installed. As in, run the the Busybox app that you downloaded from the Play Store and install it from there.
Yeah busybox isn't installing properly for some odd reason I believe. It does not run like it usually does.
It doesn't say installed when you tried installing it?
https://imgur.com/JTfuKST
It does say installed....
What fixed it for me was either installing Busybox (I forgot ^^ or using the Terminal Emulator way that I mentioned in my comment to the OP.
When I did that it said no such file or directory
When you entered "su" then "sh /sdcard/installer" in the emulator?
Unlike the OP here that says to put the files in the root folder, put it in the /sdcard folder then try it.
I put it in the folder, but still, no such file or directory.
