A couple of different recent apps mods that made the recent apps changer look more like the task switcher in web os, ios7, sense 5 or something else. Would be really cool and much appreciated. It was a favorite feature of mine in the "good old" aokp ics days on my humble xperia play.
Heres an example: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/14167-mo...orizontal-app-switcher-011412build-17-update/

So having flashed to ICS last night - while I do love the Sony launcher in all it's greatness, I'm starting to feel a craving to use Google's stock Holo launcher as seen on the Galaxy Nexus.
I know one can install Nova/Apex launcher to imitate the look and feel, however the level of detail just isn't enough. To fully replicate everything, I'd have to download large plethora of extra apps such as Go Locker and various icon themes; and in the end just slowing my SXS down in general.
So the question for me is, will there ever be a method in the future to somehow flash the Nexus' Holo launcher and lockscreen, or the entire system UI of the Nexus into our SXSs?
sure wait for aosp or aokp rom
im install Apex and kick out the Xperia Home out of the system (got root) - in my opinnion it runs damn fast
Is there anything like winterboard for android. It was so simple to use. You could edit themes easily and layer different parts of themes so customizing each and every bit how you liked it..
Launchers are OK. But system uI and notification panel etc are seemingly non themeable...
Surely someone in the android community could develop a simple system of applying themes for each and every aspect of the phone indevidually. You could theme the browsers. Apps like Facebook and litterally whatever... wherever.. whenever..
And instead of changing the rom you just apply and reboot..
Does anyone know of such a thing or any developments to make one??.
Apologies if this is the wrong forum, I was unsure where to post it as the MIUI rom is not fixed to one phone in particular...
I have just flashed MIUIv5 for my HTC one X phone, absolutely love the rom, the graphical user interface and just about everything.
Unfortunately I am struggling with the launcher. I really love the launcher, but not being able to edit the shortcuts or change the icons with a few clicks is a killer. All the big third party launchers offer this simple feature. Quite a few third party apps end up with ugly icons with a background.
Can anyone recommend an MIUIv5 style launcher that could allow me to edit the icon/app short cuts on the desktop? I have played with Nova, Apex, Holo and they all get close with the various icon packs but the layout just doesn't look the same. I don't need an app drawer either so the MIUI launcher would have been perfect but for the icon/app issue.
Also, as much as I love this rom, many of the system apps installed I really do not or would not use. Coming from CM and AOSP roms, I would prefer not to have the system monitor apps, root monitor apps, app control, MI credit, cloud and whatever non essential apps. I would prefer it more like a bare bones rom. So my question, which of these system apps can I remove without causing rom instability? I like to install apps, play in root etc without multiple warnings, notifications for this and that.
Otherwise, fantastic stuff. I can see me being an MIUI user for a long time.
Either this ROM is flawless or people just don't know about it. But our Verizon S4 can run this beautiful ROM.

I've run nearly all AOSP and touchwiz ROMS by now. My favorites are Eclipse and Hyperdrive. I like both versions on both KK and touchwiz. I only switch back to touchwiz to get the camera, the popup screens and the samsung features (wave to answer, wave down to scroll down). They are gimmicky but i like them. But when i get tired of the slowness and want the ultra quickness of KK, i go back to AOSP. They both only lack one thing, theming. Sure there are apps like xposed and unicon which allow decent theming and of course you can create widgets with zooper or use themer beta, but a built in theming engine is what avatar is all about. Much like MIUI, it seems to satisfy my insatiable lust for constant change. I thought i'd share the link in case many have overlooked it.
Or go here as well.

Hi, I'm looking for a Launcher that:
- Has NO app drawer
- Instead the homescreens ARE the app drawer
- Apps can be sorted automatically on the homescreens by "most used"
Everyone is different. The beauty of Android is we can embrace that. Personally I don't see the point of having some apps here, some there, and some more over there. I want a clean "all apps in one place" approach, but with automatic sorting. I want the Launcher to be just that, a Launcher, not a place to show off wallpaper and have a little icon that I have to click before I can get to all apps. But that's just me.
Basically like the iPhone, but with the added benefit of automatic app sorting (which iOS can't do), and widgets.
I sometimes wonder if the reason there's eleventy launchers on the Play Store is nobody's cracked that yet.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Sounds like you want an iOS/Windows like launcher. Windows launchers exist, like Launcher7. There are also iOS styled launchers on Google Play, I remember using one on Gingerbread but I don't remember the name lol. Also, if you're into Custom Roms: for example MIUI looks a lot like iOS to me.
Sadly the iOS style launchers are terrible nowadays. Not one supports app sorting and they're full of ads.
Windows Launcher is nice but doesn't look like MIUI/Android/iOS which I like.
I run pure stock (always have problems with rooting, like Android Pay failing) as I like having the freshest Google OS on the Nexus. Unlocked boot loader, that's it.
Really looking for an Android Launcher.
Thanks!

Try GEAK Launcher

It's really nice! But unless I'm mistaken, sadly no way to dynamically sort apps by most used.
Thanks!
