Is the 720p Problem solved in Cyanogen?

Happens that, in my Atrix with Stock Rom With the Latest OTA, when i download a 720p mp4 video with the Keepvid app, The system player simply says that it cant play it. if i download the normal version, without 720p it works. i've searched for it here and other forums and it says about of the video encoding being H.264. then they reached the conclusion that tegra 2 cant decode it natively... okey, but i went to the acer iconia tab of my brother who has the same tegra 2, and it played the 720p flawlessly, with the stock player! the same video! it cant be hardware if that worked.. do anybody know if this is just disabled in stock? or maybe a feature of Android 3.0+ ? Thanks in advance
Comeon people nobody ever tried this?

Its probably not the phone problem, but the default video player's decoding problem. Install Mobo Player or MX Player and change between software decoding and hardware decoding to see if that helps.
I don't know what to say about the CPU, probably some marketing trick by whoever manufactured the phone. Its also possible the app you are using is incorrect

Hi, I tried several software but none fixes the problem. Someone told me that this phone did not accept high resolution movie.

That's entirely possible, but it has a WVGA screen (800x480) so it should play some pretty high quality content.

I'm heavily into movies and these this don't ecept flash. I run mp4 format and works very well. You can knock your bit rate down to help. I prefer to use Total Video Converter. And Kasend, Meridian, or mplayer on andriod. good luck.

H264 Hardware accelerator element to use in gstreamer

Hi,
I'm trying to decode my video using hardware accelerator of NEXUS 10, OMX.Exynos.AVC.Decoder using gstreamer. My pipeline looks like
gst-launch 0.10 udpsrc port=5000 caps = \"application/x-rtp, media=video, clock-rate=90000, encoding-name=H264, sprop-parameter-sets=\\\"Z0LAH9oBQBbsBEAAAAMAQAAADIPGjag\\\\=\\\\,aM48gA\\\\=\\\\=\\\", payload=96, ssrc=3462890862, clock-base=501705596, seqnum-base=40332\" ! rtph264depay ! h264parse ! amcviddec-omxexynosavcdecoder ! eglglessink sync=false
but I get the error saying there is no gst element amcviddec-omxexynosavcdecoder
Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this issue or do I need to use different element to use HW accelerator.
thanks
What is your mobile Android version? Is it Android v5(Lollipop)?

Confirmation of Poweramp's Ability to Bypass Android Audio like UAPP

Can anyone reading this who KNOWS FOR SURE please confirm that the new "Hi-Res Audio Output" feature on the beta version of Poweramp main function is to BYPASS Android audio processing (aka via Snapdragon) and have it sent straight to either a better internal DAC (i.e. Quad DAC on LG phones) or else externally via either MicroUSB cable and/or Bluetooth?
This article from a month ago claims it does, but I'd like to hear it from someone else too who knows for sure that's what it's actually doing. Such a thing would be great for enhanced audio and also less battery consumption.
Thank you in advance!!
As far as I know, Poweramp relies on the audio config xml files on the device - even if it has a separate audio Quad-DAC, like my LG Q7 Plus, it won't recognise it (and no awser from Poweramp developers). In fact, not even UAPP and had some testing with the app devs. So far, the only app I tested that could bypass Android on my Q7, is Neutron Music Player - has it has a custom driver that you can config with the bit depth / sample rates you are sure your device is capable of.
They all work though, with my external USB DAC from FiiO.

Very cool!
As far as I can tell at this point, there's no reason to believe that Poweramp CAN'T bypass processing any of the currently played music file. I believe it bypasses it and sends it on to the next device/DAC without issue. But if you see anything to confirm it doesn't, please feel free to post in here about it! :good:
Thanks!
I did run run dumpsys audio.media_flinger and couldn't find any reference to Offload. Best proof was recording the output of a 192khz sweep sine wave file from 5k to 96k (you can find it on UAPP site) on my PC through an audio interface. While recording you should see output from phone from start to end, and that only happened with Neutron. With LG Music /UAPP / Poweramp, the output stopped at second 28, which is approx the 48khz section - or the max sample rate configured in audio policy XML file.
Cheers

Ok. I honestly don't know what all that means lol, but are you saying that is definitive proof that Poweramp is NOT outputting raw unprocessed data in Hi-Res Output Mode then??
I'm saying for particularly this device. Lg Q7 Plus LM-Q610EA. It works for LG G2 and Xiaomi Mi 8 lite that also own.

Hmm ok. I used to own the LG V30, and my mom still has the LG G6.
I now have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. I'll just assume it works on that until someone proves otherwise.
Thanks again joliv!

Video playback problem, blocky, corrupted but with sound OK

Hi,
This is in the Twitter app but also Firefox as well as Chrome (see attachements). To begin with after app start the video is sometimes OK for a few minutes and then suddenly gets screwed up. I've searched around for a fix here on XDA and elsewhere but can't see anything.
Device: LG G Pad 8.3
Android: 4.4.2
Firmware: v50020F
Hi, I still need to fix this as I don't want to update to a later ROM.
I used this test page and its the h264 codec that won't play properly.
This is "omx.google.h264.decoder" in media_codecs.xml ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenMAX ).
I think I need to to install updated codex somehow such as the "OMX.ffmpeg.h264.decoder" which I'm finding references to from around 2014 (same era as this device/ROM).
Does anyone know how to do this ?
The video codecs are limited to what is supported by the device. This means that the codecs are in firmware and not software codecs like you are used to on the computer.
