Stable roms - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey all. I've had the Droid maxx since November but recently dropped it and cracked the screen. Unfortunately I can't afford a repair for a few weeks so I'm back on the og RAZR. Kinda missed this little guy haha. Anyways since I've been away from the rom life I was wondering if you could recommend any stables. Do we even have kit Kat for the RAZR?

Use slimkat 4 the one thing that does not work with it is wifi tether and that can be fixed by a file from cm11 I have it and jbx kernel 4/4 and it is working very good.

I was going to post a similar thread because I've had an LG G2 since it came out and got used to the speed and smoothness of it and i recently broke it and now i'm using this and man it's sooooooooooo slow and laggy and annoying! I'm not trying to hate on the phone but after getting used to the g2 this is close to torture. My question would be what is the smoothest running rom that has tethering. I must have tethering because it's my only source for internet at home. I've run liquid smooth and carbon 4.4 because they are my favs and I ran those a lot of my G2 but they both lag and are slow. I'm hoping its just that 4.4 runs bad on this phone because the stock rom didn't seem to run as bad. I don't want ot use a stock based rom because I like all the features the AOSP based roms have. But if there is a good smooth running stock based rom then i'll go for it.
So I'm mainly looking for speed and smoothness and it must have tethering...battery life isn't important since I'm usually near a charger and I think this things battery is hopeless anyway. Any suggestions?

I have heard good things about Artmod V4.31 base on stock 4.1.2 been very stable...

Are there any stable JB RAZR ROMs yet to use as a daily driver?

I have been using Flick 5.0 for the longest time and am quite happy with it. However, it is still on ICS and I would like to try a jelly bean Rom. Are there any stable JB ROMs yet that can be used as a daily driver?

I did the jump to JB and I love their ROMs. Mattlgroff has a nice ROM out their call Batakang and Bytecode has one called cyclone. I suggest making the jump for JB DD.

I'm using the China leaked version of JB. It is like stock, stable till now, but, you'll have to erase cid partition maybe. The link is above.
ROM(with GSM patch and how to):

I'm on JellyWiz right now and this rom is stupid fast. Definitely a daily driver with a better battery life.

I'm also using JellyWiz RLS6, which is running pretty well, everything works, trying to set up CM10.
Quick question though, I've been able to install CM10.1 with no problem, but no can't seem to find my external SD, when I open gallery, it says "no external storage available". Did you have this problem marcomir? if so how did you get over?
Try ejecting your external card ...... Wait a few seconds and push it back in it seems to for me

So when I do that, it improves a bit, it can access the memory card, but it seems only the internal, not the external. Also Camera still doesnt work.
I would say 10.1 is close to a DD. Seems most of the main issues have been worked out according to the main XDA post from Hashcode. However, I installed the JB kernel 10.1 and camera and sd card is not working for me, so guess it'll be best just to try it out. From what I can tell, seems very smooth though
Use hashc0de CM 10.1 implementation, is great
I'm also using D-WiZ JBX and so far so good.
The only complaint I have at this point is the contact list that used to be inside the phone app. I don't know if it default on JB (since I'm moving from ics) but it is a pain to not be able to browse my contacts that have a phone number. Does anyone knows a way to get that contact list back?
ps.: I would post this on D-WiZ topic if I could
I use the aviator rom found over on droidrzr site. Super smooth and quick too. Great battery life too!

Suggest a ROM

Howdy. I'm looking to replace stock Jelly Bean on my rooted RAZR xt912 with a custom ROM that works.
Issues I'm looking to fix with this move:
Ability to run pdanet so I can wifi tether without eating up my limited data plan.
Ear speaker stops working after some time; I have to use a headset or speakerphone to hear the caller.
Battery life is abysmal.
System runs slow, even after recent factory reset.
I need a ROM that's stable and has everything working (camera Bluetooth, wifi, calling, google services, etc...) Because this is my only phone right now and I'm on the road away from home.
Any suggestions, ideas, or pointers would be great!

Your best bet would be stick based custom ROMs. U can try Rage ROM, dwiz1.0 , jelly wiz or any other stock based ROM that works with your kernel

Alright, I may do that. I've been digging around here looking for a section or area where ROM's are posted, but I don't seem to be finding it.
Is there a section or area set aside for ROM's, perhaps sorted by device?

Here are the roms for Droid RAZR here on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1363 There are also some on droid-hive: http://droid-hive.com/index.php?/forum/455-roms/ and droidrzr: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/forum/156-droid-razr-roms/ If you're looking for customization and features, go for an AOSP-based rom like cyanogenmod or aokp. If you don't care so much about features but want more stability, go for a stock/moto-based ROM.
I'm using LiquidSmooth. It's Android 4.2.2 and I use it as my daily driver. Only problems I have are random freezes and reboots, but the benefits if this ROM way outweigh that problem.
Sent from my DROID RAZR Maxx using XDA Premium
Liquidsmooth and carbon rom are very good roms my recommendation is liquidsmooth cuz its stable and abt random freezes u have to disable lockscreen by setting it to none....
I have been a cyanogenmod fan since my old Droid X. When I went with my Razr MAXX I was disappointed that it wasn't available, so I settled with Arctic for a good long while. I really liked the ROM, however as soon as Cyanogenmod was available I jumped on board ASAP. The only thing they don't have working is the HDMI output, but I don't use that feature anyways, so who cares.
Anyhow,,,,,,,,,,,, the instructions are VERY easy to follow and I have very little trouble with it. It's not what they call a stable release, but then in my opinion it's still way more stable than many others I've tried!

see this:

I recommend BW v2, aviator with stock kernel and Eclipse
the last one is the best from my point of view, only think is it needs verizon christmas leak kernel
if you can flash this kernel, try eclipse
PACman is pretty good.

Completely agree with you there, Eclipse is probably my favorite Razr Jellybean rom! Great performance, great battery life and just the right amount of visual adjustments!

Which custom ROM you recommend?

There are very many roms in the dev section. I want people here to recommend roms they are using. Fast and stable with some nice features.
I only know liquidsmooth, stock aokp and cm10.1. The last one seem the most stable. I want miui v5 though :/
This is a good question..... I just got a Droid RAZR and I really like the phone and was wondering what is a good custom ROM to put on it

well I do use and enjoy pacman
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301493&page=25
Probably one of my favorites is Buttered AOKP! It has a lot of features, seems to be very stable (at least in my usage), and is extremely smooth and fast. I'd definitely give it a try if you haven't already!
That depends mostly on your personal requirements. You might have heard that a lotbut its true.
First of all decide what things are necessary for you and see what ROMs support it.
If you prefer the features of stock ROMs as HDMI,HD recording etc than consider stock based ROMs.
If you feel those features are less imp against customization and other performance tweaks, go for AOKP/AOSP based ROMs.

Best rom for RAZR Maxx in my opinion
Turn your RAZR Maxx into a Samsung device

Hello there, well I think one of the best roms out therewould be pacman, but for me the screen "jitters" a bit so I switched to liquidsmooth 2.7 so far so good.

Liquidsmooth!!!
Liquidsmooth has by far the most customisability, i feel.
I tried CM10.1, locked up as hell. You don't have small conveniences such as swiping left from the pulled-down status bar to get to quick-settings (a feature I used to like a lot in MIUI v4, and also now in Liquidsmooth)
AOKP is way better in such customisability than CM, but... It just seems unstable to my daily use.
LIQUIDSMOOOOOOOOTH haha. Thanks!
Why don't you guys have pure Paranoid Android yet..? Or maybe there's one on a different site somewhere?
Anyways, does anyone want to test my recent PA build for spyder xt912? CDMA only for now (GSM to probably come later).
Candidates must be fluent in flashing custom ROMs and comfortable restoring your system if something goes wrong. Also, a bonus if you know how to get logs and/or can help troubleshoot possible issues (guess I could have done without the "/or" there..). For BMM and/or SS only. And install on a non-main system, please.
PM me for details and/or a link... Maybe first 5 or so people, after that I might not reply - don't be mad..
(Not sure if this was the best place to post for this sort of thing, but better than starting a new thread I suppose)
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
I've been going back & forth between PACman & Liquidsmooth. I have a slot dedicated to each. I use PACman for the unbelievable customization options & the fact that it uses bits of Paranoid, AOKP & CM; thus giving you a chance to "test" all 3 at the same time. I like Liquidsmooth because it is just that; smooth. I also use it as my more "simplistic" ROM. Enjoy.

What rom are you running and why?

When I had a Nexus 4, there was a similar thread like this, which I thought was very useful. I'll kick off:
Mahdi Rom for d802
Standard kernel
I love the quantity of features, it's very stable and the battery life is awesome.
I'd love to get some feedback and hear about the roms you're running!

I would use an AOSP rom but need something stable as a DD.
i tried almost every rom for this phone and have returned back to stock, completely stock with no root.
ive had issues with stock before but now its been running for about 3 days and no issues whatsoever. battery life is really nice and i have returned for stability.
Stock 4.4.2 why because
i am running Cloudy Flex 1.4 as JB is still more stable than Kitkat.
Malladus 2.0.2

- Battery Life
- Ability to use both Isis and Google Wallet without issue.

Main reason for using it is that it supports swap memory creation!
