This is your futures if you full unlock your Lumia 800:
- You will be able to upload any xap file
- You will get root access, and able to give root access to different applications
- You can get file manager!
There are many methods you can upload your .xap applications:
From computer:
- Do it through Windows Phone 8 Development Application with the Application Deployment tool
- Do it through Windows Phone Power Tools (http://wptools.codeplex.com/)
From Lumia:
- From e-post:
1. Setup an e-post account on your Lumia
2. Go to your computer, add the xap file and save the mail to draft
3. Open the mail application on Lumia, and open the draft folder
4. Click on the .xap file, and wait
5. Click on it again and it should open in the xap deployer tools on Lumia
- From dropbox:
1. Add the .xap file to dropbox from computer
2. Open the dropbox account on the Lumia in Internet Explorer
3. Tap on the .xap file, and make it download
4. It should be opened in xap deployer tools
- Direct link
1. Find the xap file your want to download on Lumia in Internet Explorer
2. Click on the link, and it should open in the xap deployer tools
Good luck

Can someone teach me how to install rar files in my xda2? thanks
best should be to unpack the rar-files on your PC (with WinRAR), afterwards install the software (formerly in the rar-file)via Activesync.
If you have a cab-file in your former rar-file you might copy this directly on your PPC to install it directly from there (disadvantage on WM2003(SE)): will be installed into main memory, you have no choice to select your SD-Card when using this way)
thanks for the reply...btw, whats a cab file anyway? Im not really into this tech stuff
CAB files are similar to that of a ZIP/RAR file where you compress and store things into a single file. In the case of pocketpc, the CAB files are used as a SETUP.EXE , where is has all the necessary instructions and stuff to install the program. I guess.
thanks guys, You've been of great help. I was able to download winrar to open the rar files for installation.
Hi,
In my last pda I use notes, and so I get pwi files. In my new HTC HD2 I see the pwi files and I can open them clicking in windows explorer. A new software open the file. Can someone tell me witch software this is and how I can get a link to this program?
Btw I know there is also a new software OpeNote Mobile, but this doesn't work with pwi files. This works with the extension *.1sp.
Thanks in advance,
Kik
You could copy it to your computer and open Word and select Open (selecting File Type as 'Ink Writer/Note Taker .pwi'). You can then save it as a doc or docx and copy it back to your phone.
Thank you fred_up, it is a solution. But I'm looking for the software on my HD2 what opens my pwi file. As I wrote, explorer opens a program Notes (notities in Dutch), how can I find this software on my HD2 to open the pwi files?

There is no option for 'Ink Writer/Note Taker .pwi' in Word 2003. Is this only for 2007/2010?
Within a zip viewer, is it possible to view the contents of a zip file, click on a file within that zip file and open the associated app, close the file within that app and have it save it back to the original zip file?
For example:
1. Open a zip file containing a Word document.
2. Select the Word document and choose an associated Android office suite app.
3. Edit the Word document with the Android office suite app.
4. Save/close the Word document and office app and then have the zip viewer automatically save the changes back into the original zip file.
If there is an Android zip program that can already do this, please let me know.
I can do this on Windows, but I haven't been successful finding an app that'll do this on Android.
Thanks!
I have nokia lumia 800 with developer unlock (apphub)
what i have done.
1. Download xap files: EX: RegistryEditor
2. Rename extension from *.xap to *.zip. or open with 7zip
3. Open these with system (Win7) support (not 7zip, WinRAR, etc.)
4. Cut file: WMAppManifest.xml and paste in other folder. Desktop for exemple
5. Open that file with system text editor (right click and select edit).
6. Remove line with text: "INTEROPSERVICES" and save the changes.
7. Copy this file to zip folder with app.
8. Change it back to a *.xap extension and now we can deploy him. Enjoy
right now I have the registry editor installed on my Lumia and have access
to some registry keys, is there possibility to change some keys to unlock full interop

No. Removing the interop capabilities will only "restrict" the app and might make it unable to work properly. You don't have access to the required keys anyway...

The ability to deploy XAPs with an interop-capability is tied to the allowed number of unsigned apps. This number is located at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install which the app has no access to.

unfortunately it is true, I do not have access to this registry key but my question is, will be giving to create a application to unlock the full Lumia, where we have access to these registry keys we have access?

I guess he is asking if we can insert/find an exploit and pack it in that app to get higher privileges.

Hi there,
we have a secured infrastructure where the play store is deactivated on the devices. You cant sideload apk manually, we push them by a special software.
Until Apps where developed more and more with AAB / Split APK we can't update different apps. Is there any possibility to extract those AAB Apps from a open PlayStore device and convert this AAB to an APK for a sideload with the special deployment software (own secured store)?
We can partly extract some data with adb (e.g. Twitter: com.twitter.android.8.53.0-release.01.apk, split_config.arm64_v8a.apk, split_config.de.apk, split_config.xxhdpi.apk) but we can't put them together to an single apk.
Is it possible? Maybe with a rooted phone or special software? For security reasons an apk mirror is not the best choice.
Thanks
@CrazyOlli
You can extract APKs from .AAB-files by means of Google's Bundletool what is a command-line tool to manipulate Android App Bundles.

Hi and thank you.
I found that tool already, but i didn't have access to an complete aab file. I only can extract Split APK from a Play Store connected device and tried to bundle it with the "universal" mode. But it didn't worked for me and my actual skill level ends at that point. Or is there an option to extract the whiole aab file from google?
