[Tip] How to use Samsung Milk Music outside the United States - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here's how I got it working:
- Install Samsung Milk Music apk. It's a free app, and you can get it outside Google Play.
- Use Astrill VPN (you have 7 days trial). There's an app for android, ios, windows, mac, etc. Set the Stealth VPN options to Reliable (TCP) instead of default Fast (UDP). Tried too Hotspot Shield but doesn't work (Milk Music is not available in your current location)
- Use the app Fake GPS location to emulate that you are in the U.S. You need Mock Locations allowed in developer options.

What are your favourite apps for the Tattoo

I have recently got my Tattoo and have not really had a chance to play with it yet other than debranding it to the HTC ROM.
What are your favourite and can't do without apps ?? What ones should I look for ??
Thanks in advance
AK Notepad -> Write all notes you want.
ASTRO File Manager -> Manage your files.
BookMark BR -> Change the order of browser's bookmarks and some other stuff.
Deezer -> Listen webradio of Deezer.
Facebook
Frozen Bubble -> a very nice game
Google Traduction
Here I Am -> Get the adress of where you are.
NetCounter -> If you have, like me, a provider who limits the connection speed when i'm above 500Mo, this application show you all the informations about your DATA.

Secret Box -> Store all your passwords in an encrypted file.
shazam -> recognize any music who you're listening on the radio for example.
And Finally TASKILLER to free up the RAM when you have too many apps launched.
Thanks for that, I have downloaded some of the ones that you have suggested.
...also...
Atrackdog > checks updates for your installed apps
AndroidOffice> Office suite
Documents2Go> Office suite
Quick Settings> fast communication manager (wifi, gprs, etc.)
Backgrounds> many backgrounds from internet directly to your home or sdcard
ebuddy (apk)> messenger
appmanager> as its name
I use 3Banana for making notes. I can sync them online, which is a feature i like a lot.
Along with this, i definitely recommend ToggleSettings.
ToggleSettings is similar to QuickSettings
I've installed Msn Droid (best similar messenger app for Android for now)
Oh ok. Then i'll give quicksettings a try.

location based apps

Location Based Apps
Now that i have a working BT (courtersy of CM7) and a BT GPS ($35 at amazon), i started looking for location based apps - here's a short summary of what i've used
google maps/navigation - yes works great including turn by turn but you do need a wifi connection to get tfe maps updated (my mifi works great in this regard). As a work around if i pre plan my route while i am within wifi, i can follow that route without wifi
copilot -http://www.alk.com/copilot/ is a $5 navigation program, you get to download hte maps lcoally (the North America maps was a 1.5GB download). in my short testing this works really well - the maps on a 7 inch screen are just great and easy to see. The street names for the next maneuver are in big bold letters so you can miss it. One nit though is it does not call out the street names
Beerby - Beerby - Android app on AppBrain
yes it shows you locations of where you can buy beer- around you
Gowalla -http://www.appbrain.com/app/gowalla/com.gowalla a social travel guide is how its described - basically lets you mark and share locations with frineds
Zagat NRU - Zagat nru | Droid Apps - is a restaurant locator using the metaphor of a compass/radar - with locations of restaurants marked on the compass
not on this list but i am gonig to try to test this weekend is SCVNGR - a scavenger hunt app
well if you have a cool location based app, please share

Possibly start from one of the lists of candidates that show on a Google of "debloat LG G2 verizon". Likely a fair number of them have carried over to G3.
Here's a list of all the questionable apps I see installed. These survived my first pass of bloatware removal where I got rid of all the obvious junk I didn't want. This list contains everything I can't readily identify and I don't know if it's safe to remove or even want it to be removed

Good call, I'll cross check the lists and update the original post.
I disabled all of those and now I can no longer access my phone settings. Trying to narrow down which one disabled it...
edit: "tab view" works, but not "list view" in settings. A bit odd...

^ This. Please read before disabling. Bobbarker's list is items he's unsure of, not confirmed disabled and safe.

Had this problem too, defrosted LGApduService 1.2/LG IMS 3.3.0/LG System Server and fixed it.
I've disabled a handful based on old G2 lists as well as those mentioned above:

A few of those are either hunches (the com.verizon ones) on my part or services I wouldn't use anyway (ie. Email, SmartShare, voice controls outside of Google Now, etc.). So far everything is running fine, but bear in mind that I won't know for sure until tomorrow when I swing by Verizon to get the device transferred to my line and pop a SIM into it. Running off of strictly WiFi at the moment.
Just to clarify, when you mean disable, you mean freeze under the paid version of Titanium Backup? Sorry, I haven't been on the rooted scene since the Galaxy Nexus came out.

you can disable a lot of apps just using the app manager now, of course some bloatware still requires Titanium Backup but only some.
Oh thank you, I didn't know that. I just bought Titanium Backup though, after all these years of using the free version I finally have a bit of financial freedom to contribute. Thanks for the information though!

Friendly warning!
Best to just freeze the bloat rather than uninstall. Much easier to backtrack and fix an issue, or if you need to update for critical fixes. This is the best option unless a vet of modding your phone.
The bloat does not take up much storage space. ART is a far more significant issue as far as storage space hogging.
GNSS = GLOBAL NAVIGATION SATELLITE SYSTEM
May not want to screw with that one if you use g positioning data.
GPS = The American Global Positioning System. GNSS covers other positioning satellite systems too.
Did they really preload Hotels.com? What a joke this bloatware has become.

Yup...and the NFL crap. I love football but please let me install my preferred apps.
Disabling the LG Music app ("Music") will prevent you from adding new ringtones or notification sounds. However, once you have added the audio file it seems to be fine to freeze it again and have the ringtone still work.
Otherwise, I can confirm no issues with OP's suggestions.

Is GNSS at work in the United States as well, or are we limited to only GPS functionality? I ask because having GNSS related processes frozen through TiBu has caused me zero issues so far and was one of the things listed on many "safe to freeze" lists for the G2.
Guys. I just got the G3 and rooted it right in the parking lot of Best Buy lol
What specifically do u need to freeze to stop further OTAs?
I know the answer is here somewhere but just wanted it sooner is all forgive my laziness

LAN(WiFi)-only remote desktop Android app

Hey guys,
I used Chrome Remote desktop for a little while to view/control my computer from my Android phone. It works remarkably well but I got a little sketched out by the permissions Chrome Remote Desktop requires from your computer (basically full access). The permissions do make sense, since you need full access, and it has to go through an internet third party "cloud" (Google). However I think I'd feel better if there was something that didn't send out everything through the cloud and instead just used the Local Area Network (LAN through Wi-Fi). What do you guys use/can recommend?
I do use Unified Remote when I just need to move the mouse/type remotely without a video feed showing on the phone. For example I use it when my laptop is hooked up to the TV for a movie and I can still see the TV, but I do not use its screen mirroring feature. It's a paid option and not sure if it stays LAN only or goes through their servers.
Anyone? Thread was moved.

[Tutorial] High Quality Voice TTS: quick hack to get Google Online TTS

only tested on my Huawei Watch, that being said:
I use Tasker and Wearshell a lot to turn my watch into a hands/eyes free device for my driving job, so for me this hack is very useful, but I imagine it would work for everything else too (except for Accessibility Audio Feedback)
(1) using the free version of the app 'Advanced Settings' go to Apps/System/Download Manager and DISABLE download manager (you can turn it back on later)
(2) using the app 'Advanced Settings' go to Apps/System/Download Manager and CLEAR DATA on the Google Text To Speech Engine
(3) using 'Advanced Settings' go to System Language and change your language to a version of your language in a different country that your watch DOES NOT have preloaded voice pack for (i didn't have to do this because I use wearshell to launch tts statements in UK locale). TIP: if you live in America and want American tts I suppose you could factory reset and chose English UK before pairing if this doesn't work right away.
(4) Reboot ('Advanced Settings' Power Menu is easy way)
Now when your watch needs tts it will have no voice pack so it will use online tts AS IT TRIES to download the offline voice pack, but it can't because download manager is disabled. you'll get a brief ugly toast each time saying it can't download, but you won't be looking at your watch anyways, right? (just RENABLE Download Manager to reverse this hack)
here is an example of UK High Quality:
