So I wanted to upgraded to 4.4.2 and had trouble so I went and installed stock rom that had 4.4.2. Is the software for sprint note 3 suppose to be N900PVPUCNAB ? And I tried rooting it with the previous method of cf auto root. I saw the orange pirate when it restarted but it did not install super su so I was unable to root. So do I have the right software...and was it on upgrading like this to 4.4.2 and how do I root now?

alright so after searching both here and various other sites on this question i have found nothing very helpfull...
so at the risk of being told i need to search i have to ask. I have a ATT Galaxy note I717. I did get the OTA update to 4.0. I have not yet rooted my phone but im trying to do so. Mostly so i can flash t-mobile onto it for it work properly with my 4G.
So my question is. Were is the root process for a note that already has 4.0.
I followed other instructions here http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-note-sgh-i717-att-clockworkmod-touch-recovery-90018/ and here http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-method-2odinheimdall/.
After installing such CMW Touch i can not get it to boot to recovery. Just goes into download mode and as welll as i do not have superuser or root acces on the phone. If any one knows where i can find the procedure to gain full root access so i may start playing around that would be greatly appreciated

The second link you provided was for the International Note. That may be the problem. Use the method here: http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...y-note-sgh-i717-icsgingerbreadeasiest-method/. I know for a fact this procedure works, as I have done it on my own Note no less than a dozen times due to the problem in my thread.
Good luck and happy rooting!
Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-I717: Android 4.0.4, Stock, Rooted
Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 YP-G70: Android 2.3.5, Stock, Rooted
Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 GT-P6210: Android 4.0.4, Stock, Rooted
Asus Transformer Prime TF201: Android 4.0.3, Stock
Asus Nexus 7, 16 GB: Android 4.1.1, Stock, Rooted
It says for ginger bread rooting. I am running 4.0 and do not wish to go back to 3. Will i keep my current 4.0 with that method or will it be flashed back to ICS
nvm do appologize,,, just caught my own noob mistake... lol
seeing that you have used this method before... when i go to flash the zip file it gives me an error and says it fails... yet i have super user and root acces on the phone now?
You don't have to root your phone to flash a modem. You don't need to have CWM to flash a modem either.
You can install the modem using Odin3 and your pc.
Agreed ....
Thank you ranger ....g
Hi guys,
Im running the SGS3 I9300 (international), today I upgraded to jelly bean (as it became available here), my phone was rooted, so I downloaded OTA rootkeeper to pause my root so I can update my firmware. After updating, the phone was no longer rooted, I came to xda to root it, used the link here first,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273 (Auto root)
however it didnt work, so I decided to go back to the one I used before with CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
and that didnt work either, now nothing seems to work, could you guys point me in the right direction, cheers.
Chainfire has an app called Exynos Exploit. Try that one. Custom kernels with pre-root might work out as well.
Hi, I updated yesterday and rooted with chainfires CF-autoroot
So this mornining I received the message to update my phone to KitKat, but when I installed it, nothing happened. Am I stupid for thinking it would update a stock root? I used the chainfire automatic root method. How do I obtain KitKat and root? Thank you in advance guys.
It's best to update via PC and Odin. I doubt they'll have that file ready for a bit though. You probably want to wait anyway since I don't believe there is a root method available yet since it just dropped.
So I've seen it done on a Verizon and AT&T Models, but not on a TMobile and i have some questions,
Will it work on my device? (Given my specs below)
Will this brick my device?
Will it trigger Knox?
Just Root and SuperUser Right? No Custom Roms?
How much trust should i put into this developer?
SM-G900T
4.4.2
Kernel : May 23 2014
Security: Release 3

(I Already know the steps to use TowelRoot)
That is how I rooted my phone back with the original software.
If you are running the newest stock version you will need to downgrade first.
Newer kernels have patched the exploit used by towelroot.
..
Rooted my phone on the same exact kernel about 2 weeks ago and it is still (as of today) 0x0 NO KNOX triggered meaning my phone is still safe from knox 0x1, I have not had a single problem rooting or using rooted apps, your safe with the towel root any other questions just ask
Just purchased two TMO S5 to retire my two S4. Used towel root on both phones and it work without any issue. Did the Philz CWM recovery but still waiting for the Rom Mgr version to appear.

I used Towelroot with same software as you have currently. All went fine.
Worked on my new T-mobile S5.. I used this method on my prior AT&T S as well.
I was hoping to install a custom rom as well but the way I rooted it last time it soft bricked, I used kingroot
Did you use the desktop or via the app on the phone? The app on the phone plus using SuperSU Me Pro should work. Otherwise, you will have to downgrade back to 4.4.2 NB1 update and root that then update via process mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-update-to-i337oc3-5-0-1-keeproot-t3075814
Reference 2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/root-att-s4-5-0-1-t3165816
Note - there are multiple security updates for 5.0.1 so you should read through that thread.
