kindly recommend a player or is there a way to install codecs?
don't want to keep converting files too many of them.
The best player you can use is MoboPlayer. It plays almost all formats. And also can downsize 720p videos.

What format do I need to rip DVDs to to be able to play on the Vibrant with an ICS ROM?
x264 at 1.5Mbps is the best choice, using a player like DICE Player.

hi guys, i just got myself this tablet and im loving it, im trying to play mkv files on the tablet but the player i have been using on my phone doesnt work that well on the tablet, (QQplayer)
what do ye recommend to play mkv files
MXplayer.....
and witch codec is it? or you dont install any codecs?
No codecs needed
I think BS Player Lite is better then MX Player. MX stopped support for DTS decoding and MX plays AC3 on SW mode and not HW. BS Lite has it's own HW engine and play AC3 on HW mode.
I agree, Bsplayer also have lan mode to stream without problems from my pc
Tried BS Player and it works fine! Plays Mkv without any problem and with sound
thank you for the suggestion

Yeah, I agree. I was using MX Player and was getting the force close issue where it intermittently quits playback. I changed to BS Player and no more issues.

I'm using MX Player for long time now and I had no problems with it (pro version).
Other interesting video player is:
Super Video, Floating & Popup
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.PopupVideo
Mostly because of floating feature
I like mx

I'm using Dice Player and works pretty good.
I've been using MoboPlayer on my Android phone for a couple of years, so it is also on my pad.

But as no dolby codec how to get ac3 with mkv file types?

I used Rock Player but have now switched to BS player, working well.
BS player lite too...
I don't need MX anymore since i'm able to lock android buttons directly from OS
(BS player is not offering any lock option)
I tried XBMC yesterday but it seems to use installed codec...

How can you get the VLC player on TF300T ?
I went to Google play and didn't show any VLC player (even Beta).
I like VLC player on my PC. It can play almost anything (avi, mkv, iso, vob, etc...)
Thank you.
MX Player Pro - plays everything I through at it (.avi .divx .mkv .mp4, ect)

It doesn't decode DTS audio anymore.
When I try to play a .FLV video, I get sound only - no picture. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance -
Install MX player and use its software mode to play the video.
