You'll need a CM ROM to use that, the clues in the title. Themes can be installed in a few ways and generally what they're for either in the title or the theme thread.

"themes can be installed in a few ways". Launcher themes, Theme Chooser, X-Themes, themed ROMS or themed apks, you'll need to read the threads for how to install each one/way.

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?
PD: How I can set default?... WHEN YOU INSTALL MY CM9 ROM!
Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!
Hey, what can you see if you go to settings, under "interface" tab, go to Themes
Provide any screenshot

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.

In CM7 you can choose the default theme by editing the build prop. Then when that CM7 rom is installed, that custom theme is used instead. There has to be a way in CM9 too. HELP I'm not making one for X10 but found this Post asking the same question I am asking. This answer would help alot of us Devs

there are many alternatives to change the stock icons
1. DO IT YOURSELF
decompile APK's and literally change lot of img inside
2. INSTALL A LAUNCHER
launchers like NovaLauncher, ADW, GoLauncher, etc support themes that are meant for their launcher
3. FLASH A ROM THAT SUPPORTS THEMES
ROMs that are AOKP/CyanogenMod based/AOSP/MIUI have lots of themes
if you are the android fanatic type, i suggest AOSP/AOKP/CM
if you think apple's icons look rather dashing, then i suggest grab MIUI
cheers!

Maybe I forgot to say that I prefer stay in stock deodexed rom with original touchwiz home launcher. So I think the only way is decompile apk... is apktool good for this?

Hey Guys,
I was able to successfully root my Note 3 Neo (N750) with help of Philz recovery (many thanks). After doing usual nandroid backups, Xposed and stuff.
I wanted to change look and feel of my phone. Since there are not many custom roms and most of the cool themes are for CM, I tried my hand at HKThemeManager to apply CM themes on stock samsung rom.
Did anyone had any success?
I would like to port themes to be compatible with stock firmware. Devs/seniors please point me in right direction.
Thanks,
Nikhil

I dont think it is possible to use CM theme in Stock Samsung. If you are using S5 launcher then google you will get some theme for it.
Ok. Although HKThemeManager allows using CM themes on stock roms, but I am not able to utilise it due to some kind of permission error. Any way I like stock rom on note 3neo due to features and functionality (it's so feature rich).
Any idea how to change caller id interface? (Not uci app pls)
I use mihome launcher and download themes from the launcher itself.

you can push the apk file of the launcher you have downloaded to /system/app
and delete the stock touchwizhome launcher in system/priv-app
to use the custom launcher as a stock launcher

i want to share my theme
it will work on Mi-Globe roms and others (if xiaomi policy will apply third party themes)
what will you get:
-my own 5x8 Miui Lauchner Grid Mod
-7x3 AOSP Statusbar quicksettings.
-AOSP Notifications
-AOSP Icons in settings and more
-lowered Navbar to 26dpi
-and more
Link: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754465555
i can not post screenshots because my phone is damaged . would be nice if you do it
if you have trouble to install third party themes. try miui theme creator from playstore. load the theme and press on next , next and done. then apply the theme . Go to theme manager and choose it there.
Enjoy
Thanks man, I love it.
I'm so sorry about your broken device...

Which ones are the MIUI 10 themes on the store? Nearly every theme in store has an error about may not applying correctly because its for older MIUI version. Please list your themes in theme store for MIUI so i can take advantage of it.
Same problem

Theme Store Themes
Hello. I talked with one of the devs on miui forum and he said official store themes will be added once stable version of miui 10 is published. Until then we can use the themes currently available. Yes, the error message does appear on most themes but they do apply giving us custom icons and wallpapers in most cases. Only the statusbar remains unmodified as it is different from miui 9. Hope this helps
I think its avaible when we get Stable Miui 10.
Stable MIUI 10 is out but no sign of compatible/error-free themes for it yet.

Hahaha, it's mi themer I guess. I use xiaomi.eu so no problem to apply 3rd party themes
Try the third party app called My Themer for Miui and download mtz themes from google, search the Final Casper mtz and you will find the download link and upload the mtz file into that My Themer app, then you can apply that theme and it will change the whole look, status bar too
