I did not get software ota update even after 4.3 firmware upgrade...how to get that update? Anyone?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Lots of reasons you don't get it, usual problem is modified status. Have to be fully stock, unrooted and flash count of zero.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can use TriangleAway to reset the binary counter to zero.
And by fully stock he means getting a stock unmodified image of your device's firmware from a website like www.sammobile.com and flashing it to your phone through Odin.
Oh thankyou...now I got you thanxx...I did custom rom few days ago..I didn't like cm10.2 and I couldn't even return to stock rom bcoz I forgot to backup stock rom...so I found stock rom from trueandroid website for my country vietman...I flash that stock rom by odin...now according to you first I should go for triangleaway and again flash that stock rom by odin will give me ota update? ???

your search button not working ???
which leads you to the standard reply >>> Flash stock rom and reset custom rom counter

Do a search in Your phones Dev section for unroot instructions. You should find a .tar file you can push through Odin fairly easily, good luck!

No in order to return to an uprooted state for warranty purposes you would have to do a full wipe/factory reset and flash the original firmware via odin.

Is the usb jigg necessary? for warranty purpose.? I mean since Samsung didn't lock the bootloader...what will happen if I restore stock ROM?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Yes. If you don't reset the flash counter, it shows you've flashed non-stock firmware on to the phone, and you can kiss any chance of having your phone repaired under warranty goodbye.
If they see anything other than Custom Binary Download = No & Current Binary = Samsung Official, you're boned warranty-wise. Unless you're lucky.
Edit to add - For the sake of 3 bucks, why would you take the chance they'll reject a warranty claim ?

Any stock ROM will do, as long as your binary counter is zero, custom binary download shows NO, and current binary shows SAMSUNG OFFICIAL.
Hello guys
How are you doing?
I hope everyone is doing well.
I have Samsung Galaxy S III international GT-I9300 running ROM with BB version of I9300XXLFB.
Samsung has released JB updates to almost all Levant region countries except for the LF3 CSC (KSA version). I don't know why Samsung is so lazy in terms of their system updates and customer service.
Anyway, I decided to manually update to JB of another Levant country (UAE).
When I had my device rooted before, the device status changed from "Normal" to "Modified", even after unrooting and flashing the stock ROM. I needed to fully go to stock by wiping my data and using TriangleAway in order to reset it back to normal. My device now is unrooted and running stock ROM and having the device status in "Normal" mode.
My question is: if I flash the ROM using Odin and choose "F. Reset Time" in it, will the device status change to "modified"? Will that affect automatic OTA future updates?
Depends if your flashing a Samsung ROM or unofficial kernel etc

Yes, it is an official stock JB ROM by Samsung but for another country. It is a ROM provided by SamMobile.com, and it supports Kies.
Then it should be fine buddy

Can i flash stock recovery with mobile odin
you can't flash a stock recovery. it comes with a stock rom, and mobile Odin is made exactly for flashing stock roms

So i can go to stock rom with mobile odin?
And bydeway i already flashed stock recovery with mobile odin and in works...
I was pretty sure there isn't a stock recovery separately from the rom.
of course you can flash a rom with mobile Odin, that's what it's for

you are asking the same question for the third time, read my replies.

heres my suggestion
once you already went back to stock rom, then your traiangle away but still want your phone rooted. what you can do is to search here in XDA the CFAutoroot for our S3 and your system status still be NORMAL. works for me
I used cf auto root and have always had stock rom. I still have modified status.

Hello, I would like to ask something.
I knew that recently Samsung has released 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy SIII International Version. The 4.3 update hasn't reach my country yet. I would like to know is it possible for me to flash another country's official frimware? Is there any negative effects?
Meanwhile, if I flash the latest stock rom back to my phone, will it be unrooted?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yes, you can flash a rom from another country -which includes a modem for another country. If the modem is unsuitable you will lose signal strength or even all connection.
Of course if you flash an unrooted stock rom then your phone will be unrooted, that's the whole point.
Unless you are confident in flashing modems and kernels I would not advise using 4.3 yet -it isn't reliable unless you can replace both.
Thanks for the quick reply
In that case, is it possible to flash just the ROM without the modem/baseband? (SamMobile ROMs come with seperate PDA, Modem)
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If your current baseband is EMGx or later then yes, you can flash just the rom.
Alright.
Thanks for your help

Trying to put my Note 3 back to stock so I can get the Kit Kat update. Download the stock 4.3 firmware and used Odin to flash it. But as seen in the pictures, it failed. Now I can't even turn it on. When I do, it shows the message saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." Any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved, was trying to flash firmware version MI3. It doesn't work, because you can't downgrade to a previous version of firmware. I downloaded version MJ4 from www.sammobile.com and it worked perfectly.

You may not.. But I had problems taking the KK update OTA being as though I was 0x1. Ended up flashing the official tar file via Odin.

Had nothing to do with it ... There are two spots that need to say official in the phone and not custom ... Sometimes you may have to flash Rom in Odin boot into stock recovery factory reset and then flash the Rom in Odin again ... To get it to official and take ota without it failing
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Yea.. I did all that. Odin'd back to MJ4 stock. Factory reset. Confirmed both officials in download mode. Rebooted and tried taking OTA. No Buenos
