Has anyone managed to run Backtrack, Kali or Reaver on a Galaxy 4.2?
So far, I've only tried to install Reaver, but I didn't get very far.

I'm guessing backtrack can be installed using any VM app. But reaver won't work because monitor mode is only supported on broadcom wifi chipsets(BCM4329 and BCM4330). It should work on the galaxy player 4/5.

Would Backtrack running on a Galaxy Player 4.2 be capable of cracking WEP/WPA/WPA2?
Theoretically yes, but with our hardware, VMs will be extremely laggy on our device. There's no harm trying though

Loved this app. Think it had it's own built in video player since it was able to play files from the DLNA server that no other player could do including Dice and Rock.
I've since flashed to CM10 JB preview and am not able to get older versions of DLNA.apk and divx.apk to load. Anyone have a version that will work with JB?
Hoping there is compatibility from the newly released ICS update from Samsung that someone can post.

The two apps in question are dependent on touchwiz and will not work on CM. I've read someone getting all share working on CM but that was one out of dozens of post saying it doesnt work.

AllShare is just Samsung's implementation of UPNP - So if you want the functionality that allshare provides, download an app called UPNPlay from the market. A much better implementation of the UPNP protocol IMO.

There are several alternatives on play store.
IMHO the best are homedia and bubbleupnp. They sync well with my Samsung TV too

Love being able to stream netcasts I've downloaded on my desktop to my tablet. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of these apps. I'll give them a try.

Hey, I have s galaxy player 4.0 (YP-G1) and I have a Mac. I cannot root it via super one click, and I have tried opening it with mono, but it still doesn't recognize my device. Any suggestions? I really have no idea what to do.
Thanks a lot in advance!

You need drivers and you can't get them on mac. Try installing the windows 8 preview (free) in boptcamp and it will work.

Hey. I want to connect my Galaxy Nexus to a TV and control it from my Galaxy Tab via bluetooth. Every app that I found allows me to use my android device as a remote for a pc, not for other Android device...

Would be great to hear if you ever find something - I've been looking for the same thing for the same reason.

Haven't tried it yet, I need to charge my Tab..
I have a Note 10.1 and Note 8 both with AllShare Cast, I have a few other Android devices like an original Note an Tab 2, I'm curious if anyone had successfully used AllShare Cast on a device that doesn't have it installed in a shipping device. It's it as easy as copying an .apk file? Or is there some hardware feature required to run the app?

Many Samsung features and apps are limited to running only on devices with the Touchwiz frameworks. If you can find an apk you can try installing it and see what happens.

My problem is finding the apk. It doesn't announce itself. I was hoping someone else had tried this. XDAers are an experimental bunch.

Any luck? I too am looking to install share cast on my non samsung device.
I tried the above links but I can't get the apk installed.
Please port Allshare cast for non-samsung devices
I am using micromax canvas 2 and samsung smart tv. TV doesn't support any other app but 'allshare cast'.
Please port 'Samsung Allshare cast' for non-samsung devices.

Yes, but it won't work because the S2 doesn't have the necessary hardware
