What is this about?
When I edited it to true I noticed no difference, no additional options or anything.
Can anyone explain this. Only checked on the GPE after flashing RUU.
Just enabling that doesnt activate beats audio....not sure if the gpe even has the beats libs
Found this in sense Rom. Enabled it but didn't see any difference slight or not. Like you said it might be missing libs which is why it's most likely not enabled by default..

I enabled it a few days ago and the beats option showed up

And this will now be baked into every ROM going forward for cool factor alone. Maybe the relationship hadn't ended when this phone was in development and just disabling was the easy opti? Can you report on any improvements in sound with it on?

Never said it did anything. I use Viper4android for sound, not disappointed when clearly 2 other people said it does nothing. Just showing the OP it's in the sense builds too so chill.
Wasnt attacking...lol...its in all builds across the phones still...no worries
Gotta have that beats audio! Just a little info on what it really is. Beats Audio / BoomSound are both SRS WOW HD, the only difference between the two, the logo and the name. The missing libs are missing because they have been renamed to remove the beats audio name.
Also, beats audio headphones are terribad. For the same price or even cheaper you can get a pair of AKG K702, K701 or Q701. (that was attacking )

Lol it's all good, can't rough you up like some of the newer "kids" on Xda. It's not like it use to be on here. But anyway.... DG set it all straight. I use Viper though because Beats isn't all that great IMO.

i will guess and say no. if there's an app, then it's related to the audio chip. i've already read the one in our phone is poor quality, so i'm getting another Cowon PMP.
and it was showed that it was mainly some really good EQ profiles in software and that is why they can add that to roms.
I would think that porting from a sense rom to it might not be too easy , but never know.
Yeah my friends just let me listen to some music via headphones on his Evo3d and all I can say is wow.

For beats I use Sense 3.5 or Bliss 3.5 by Xboarder. You sacrifice the GPS, Bluetooth, You can use hotsport with Android Tether and You also Sacrifice USB Mounting but you can use recovery. I use that one because it has the Notify that shows the Beats Logo when ever you play music. But if you don't mind having that then their is bulletproof which fully running i think.

He's not asking what rom has Beats Software but what rom supports the Beats Headphones. To answer the question, all roms support the Headphones, it's just a matter with volume. You may have to plug it the headphones tighter or something may be broken, because they work fine for me.
Could always try one of those portable amps for high end headphones to help with the frequency range

My Solo HDs sound great when using the Beats audio

Well he said he was experiencing bad volume. I tend to have better AUDIO OUTPUT vol, bass, and treb. with the software. Just trying to fix more than one issue that hes having.
How can i get the beats software in a rom? Im using bulletproof its the same as quicksense... The problem is my sister plugged it to her iphone and my god were they loud and thumping... Dnt get it wrng they nice with the beats hack on bulletproof but man doesnt sound the same as the iphone or the sensation with the beats software

All audio is different, it depends on the device but even if they were very loud you probably shouldn't use them at that volume anyway. However if you want to id suggest testing all the roms with the beats hack and see which one you find the best. The roms I know of with beats software are Bulletproof, Senseless, Sense 3.5 Alpha 2, and Bliss 3.5 Alpha 1. They have it preinstalled just plug and play. You have to activate on the Equalizer for BP and Senseless.
How can i get the software where i connect the headphone and the beats logo pops up in the notification?

So you're saying that so far only the Sensation XE and XL are the ones capable of using the buttons for the Dre Beats Headphones? No rom has gotten the headphone buttons to work for them?
Audio volume is a common android complaint amongst iPhone switched people... I don't know if our android devices are running lower wattage amps or what but my amaze is waaaay better than my Alcatel tribe or my hd2 was..
Volume boost has only blown the speaker on my tribe thanks to the rediculous distortion levels... If you want louder buy a car...lol jks

Update on this subject
Thought I should update people on this subject.
I went ahead and purchased a pair of Beats, but the ones that would usually come with the Sensation XE. I also happened to have the Klipsch S4A headphones. In all honesty, I can't say there is much of difference with the audio. I'm using the BulletProof ROM and it does have an equalizer setting for Beats. It can be activated with both sets of headphones though. I will admit the Beat headphones are a bit heavier in bass.
This thread shouldn't be this complex with such a variety of answers. Sense 3.5 ROMs have true Beats Audio (unlike beats Audio hack from 3.0) DL a sense 3.5 ROM if you want beats. Although, DSPManager on Sense 3.0 works just as well

Beats Audio AND DSPM? Hmmm
Sent from my Energized HTC Ruby using XDA-Premium or Tapatalk
Yea Beats Audio with DSPM increases both volume and clarity and with beats headphones = awesomeness for your ears
Or ... just sayin ... wait for the ICS/Sense 4.0 update? Beats in 3.x apparently only works with the HTC Music app, but reports on the One X/S indicates that the updated Beats works with ALL music apps. I've been told anecdotally that ICS will require Sense 4.0, so we oughtn't see ICS with Sense 3.x.
I can wait.
I haven't tried it yet but thought I would share.

Yesterday night,I received official ota and flash my cellphone to ICS. After that, I was listening music with my headphone(AKG K420) while I was experiencing new features. It seems that I feel audio quality has been improved. I dont know how to describe it. The human voice sounds better than before. I play music with stock music player. Did HTC reprogram the kernel???? Does anyone here who flashed official ICS has the same experience with me?
btw, music format is only 192k mp3. Songs by Nora Jones

Yes I noticed that, too. I am guessing they probably updated the sound drivers or just implemented a better audio algorithm. This is why I think we can recreate the Zune HD's sound quality on our phones. If we can emulate it some way I am sure we can stick it on our phones.

Just like some phones can emulate Beats audio and/or have their audio quality made better because of an update, like Ice cream sandwich has made to our phones. We can probably find the same algorithm the Zune HD uses or whatever makes it sound good and emulate it. It is not just about its Digital to Analog Converter from what I researched because Ipods use a similar DAC but the sound quality is different from the Zune's.
I opened a thread the other day in the Q&A section about the same idea here to hopefully get someone to help. I do not know how to port or develop but maybe I can learn and try to port whatever it is to android when I get more spare time. Or maybe someone with experience can help out.
I've noticed many of you on viper 1.1.3 have enjoyed the beats mod that I was able to get working on our phone. I'm also very aware of everyone asking when it's gonna be updated for the new viper 1.2. Well after weeks of trying everything I can get my hands on to get it to work I've come up with nothing.
I did However find out some interesting things from HTC after writing them a few emails. I got them to tell me that yes an ota would give us more options for beats audio. But since they don't feel that there's nothing wrong with beats what's the point for fixing it? That's where you come in...
All I ask is a simple email to HTC explaining to them how much of a downer beats actually is on this phone. Its that simple. I know it's a long shot and I know it's a small crowd of us that actually give a damn about it but it's ridiculous that we have all of the same files in our phones as say the ONE X but are limited to just an on/off switch on the DNA.
Here's what's needed to send them your thoughts:
-the model of your phone.
-a brief description of what you find missing from beats(ie eq settings, etc)
-that's it.
-whatever you do DO NOT explain that you're rooted or s-off as that will do nothing but hurt our chances in getting this OTA.
Like I said it's a long shot at best but the more people making an uproar about it the more they may be inclined to do something about it.
Here's a direct link to their customer service website:
