Static from earpiece - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Anyone experience static when in a call? When I put the phone up to my ear to hear the call, I get background static..defect or are all of them like that?

You should not have any background static in the speaker. If there is static on every call you make, no matter your location, it is more than likely a defect.

Thanks.. Looks like I gotta go back to the att store

Answering Phone Calls

Does anyone know how to change the way the calls are accepted/declined? I do not like at all the way you have to put accept/decline in the ring. I am using a stock device. Called HTC about another issue and mentioned this before hanging up and they said no. If I can't change the settings for that maybe a 3rd party application if it's available.

If it helps at all, you can answer a call by pulling the bottom large ring up to anywhere on the screen and just use the little icons for decline call.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip. I do like that better than what I do now.

Headphones Left speaker popping

Has anyone else experienced one or the other of their headphones popping at random? It happens with the beats as well as other headphones that I have laying around. I am s-on running ics firmware and Nils business sense. Just wondering if this is an ics bug or a faulty phone.

When it happened with my beats it was a short.

So this is a warranty thing eh?

Static
I sometimes get random static, hissing, and other noises on various headphones.
Perhaps the amp is poorly shielded.

Why automatic speaker phone when dialing out

So I dial.out once EVO LTE rings it rings directly from the speakerphone
Is this normal or a way to change it in settings

I really can't understand what you said. Clarify please?

Simple...
Every time I make a normal call as soon as the person or whomever answers I can hear them on speaker phone
I look down on the dialer screen and it auto enables The rear speaker
Ifl I click it off call goes to Normal ear speaker
This happens every time I call anyone
And no I am not enabling speakerp phone prior to dialing

Well in this case, I have no idea but I can tell you that is NOT the normal, stock behavior of this phone. Are you rooted, and do have any custom ROMs installed?

No everything works fine elsewise
Brand new phone
Strangest sh** I've ever seen
Annoying to
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Weird. I've personally never seen a setting for that behavior. I'd bring it to Sprint of no one on here knows. They will either show you the way to change it, or replace it for you.

Are you flipping your phone face down after dialing? Because doing that automatically turns on speakerphone.

Touch Sounds

Does anyone else notice the odd sound the HTC One uses when touch sounds are enabled. Not sure if the default sound is supposed to sound like a faint glass tap so wanted to get anyone's feedback. What does your touch sound sound like?

Yes mine is the same.

Perhaps it's the standard sound. Kind of a strange selection, don't you think?

I actually enjoy the touch sounds.. I've been through many phones and this is the only phone with which I have left that option on.

Microphone problem?

I realized that when my phone is ringing (someone calling in) the microphone will be muted? I'm trying a new profile using tasker & autovoice to answer and reject calls via voice. But the Mic will never seem to on untill I pick the call or reject it manually. Any idea how to enable the mic when my phone is ringing?

So your trying to set up calls as hands free? Is that what your saying?

Yes. No Bluetooth device connected. No need of pressing any buttons
