Congrats on the new phone and root! Now, what method did you use to root? Have you unlocked the bootloader as well? Have you installed a custom recovery? Do you have everything backed up? It will be reset with the new rom.
Looks like there is a lot more action for this phone over @ Modaco forums. http://www.modaco.com/forum/743-huawei-ascend-g510-development/

Well, depends on if you need or want to back up anything. There are tons of backup apps in the Play Store and depending on how much and what you need to save, some options are better than others.
For recovery: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/170
If you use the GooManager app, I believe it has an option to reboot to recovery as well. In recovery, make sure to backup your current rom and follow the directions in the post of the rom you are looking at for install instructions.

I just recently rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4 and swiftly installed Rom Manager. I have used ROM manager in the past before I owned an iPhone when the Moto Droids were popular. Upon installing I flashed the recovery over to CWM - However, when I reboot into recovery I still receive the default stock options. I even purchased the CWM Touch recovery to see if that would work, sadly it did not.
I am stuck as to what to do here, I have googled the problem and cannot seem to find a cure. I can not do anything with CWM - When I click backup current ROM it simply reboots into the stock recovery.
If anyone can help me with this issue I would be extremely appreciated
Thanks,
Christopher

Did you remember to go to Rom Manager > Recovery Setup > Click ClockworkMod Recovery (Under INSTALL OR UPDATE RECOVERY) > Then click on the Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon).
Yes, since that is the only way to download and install the recovery that is what I did...

I was able to flash it with no issues.
Do you mind telling me exactly what you did (even rooting wise) - I used some compiled package that was on droid life I believe. It had all the tools compiled and was the closest thing to a one click without being one click. I think it even attempted to flash the recovery. However, that is how I rooted my device. I didn't flash another rom. Still on the stock rom.
I just rooted the device. Switched to SuperSU, restored all my programs via Titanium Backup. Then I flashed CWM.

I have read conflicting posts about this but is your bootloader unlocked? I read that the bootloader was unlocked before the phone was even released - Then I read somewhere else that the Verizon bootloader was super locked down and not cracked yet. Obviously, you would need some bootstrap or the bootloader unlocked before the device would even be able to use a custom ROM. Did you flash the phone to get root, or did you use all kinds of different tools to do so?
EDIT:
this is the method I used - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41718543

Please read about loki in the development forum. The bootloader is not unlocked and unlock is not needed to flash roms or recoveries.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I will read about loki - maybe when I read about loki this will be explained, however I was always under the impression that in order to install custom ROMs you have to unlock the bootloader. I know that a bootloader or bootstrap is what tells your device what operating system to boot to and if it is locked this prevents you from loading a custom ROM. If I have this all wrong, would someone care to explain? You can use technical explanations as I will most likely be able to understand what you mean.
EDIT:
reading about loki clears this up. It's simply (yet sophisticatedly) tricks the aboot into thinking the rom passes the checksum that is physically embedded into the phone and proceeds to boot the custom rom. The boot loader itself is still locked, but is bypassed.
The only problem with this is they can release an update to patch the sequence in which the checksum is done so that it cannot be loaded over itself.
My problem still remains - Clockwork Manager is not working.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry I posted it in the wrong section. If anyone knows what is wrong please let me know, I am thoroughly confused as to why this is happening. Maybe I should restore stock and reroot the device, although I don't know what that would do.
Am I supposed to install Loki? Because I never did that, I was under the impression that rom manager would do that.

Do a stock restore. Then root again. Start over.

I'm new to this rooting process regarding my nexus 5. I read all the other posts of rooting nexus 5 and I've downloaded all the necessary things to get start rooting my nexus. For that I'm using CF-Auto root method of chainfire's.
After reading those threads I realized that I have to unlock the bootloader which wipes my data and it's okay with me and the thing I want to know is that will my original ROM will get replaced by a another custom rom If I goes through this process. I want to keep my original stock rom with me.
Can somebody please tell me whether my ROM will get replaced by using CF-Auto Root?
And it it is going to replace. Can I root my phone without replacing my rom and how to do it. Direct me to a post and I will follow it
Thank you

You dont have to worry. it wont replace your stock rom period. CF auto root just adds root permissions. make sure you unlock your boot loader (I assume you have read all about unlocking bootloader) first and theres plenty of guides in nexus 5 forum or just google search Nexus 5 boot loader unlock.

I dont have much of experience with nexus after nexus s 2years agoand now im on samsung. as far as I know, No, you wont be able to update via OTA after you installed a custom recovery. but Im not 100% sure though. theres nothing to lose so why dont you give it a try. however you can always make a titanium or loads of backup methods after root and just restore after the update. even CWM or TWRP have custom restore options.

I need help!!
Trying to flash the stock roms I received from here-->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370987
I always get a mismatch error suggesting that the software I'm loading isn't correct. Looking at my phone, the model is a bit different.
It's (L090a) while the models listed are (L100a & L100i).
My phone's recovery has been blocked by my carrier Digicel so I'm unable to enter recovery, let alone do any backups via CWM.
Does anyone have access to this stock rom? or at least the correct preloader will do.
Unlocked bootloader?

I'm just curious as to whether you found anything to unlock the bootloader on the L090a. Thats the model I have and my bootloader is locked up tighter than an virgin in a convent.

Well, in short, not yet. But there's hope.
Curently, I have no access to CWM. I was a bit hasty and flashed a ROM for a Blu Life VIEW! My phone couldn't boot, was bricked. I tried flashing the cwm files from lopestorm and I had access to cwm for the first time, but even after flashing the stock L100 files, it couldn't boot. Used a friend's blu life play to extract the stock rom using MTK Droid Tools. Tried hard to revive it.
Currently it's working but back to square one. When I flash a new recovery file (which worked before) the phone doesn't boot and needs to be reflashed and reformatted. Hoping to get some help from a professional. Just have to figure out a way to get the cwm to work.
Realised too that the bootloader being locked isn't a problem once you're using SP Flash Tools.

Hello i am currently running 13.3.2.1 on my HDX, i already root it and everything the only problem is that on that version recoveries dont work.
I tried them already.
So I downloaded the 13.3.2.3.2 to test on that one, this would be an upgrade for me but i already disable the OTA's. How do i upgrade to use recovery?
and question will this lose root?
what are the steps dont find anything.
Thank you

TWRP should work fine on your current firmware level (13.3.2.1). However, since it is advisable to upgrade the bootloader to 13.3.2.3 do the following:
- install Flashify (free download from your favorite app store)
- use Flashify to install bootloader upgrade (here)
- use Flashify to install TWRP (here)

Err...glad I could help. Hope the Kindle part goes ok too.
Flashify is a powerful tool. Make sure you know what your are doing and flash the right components into the proper partitions. Flashify offers some protections but you can easily brick your device if done wrong. Assuming everything else is ok with your device; if stock recovery is borked you should probably fix that first.

Glad it worked out. You can now flash CM11 or Nexus 2.0.5. CM12 requires an unlocked bootloader.
Been searching for weeks now...asked here on another forum but not really getting any answers.
Can someone who knows how to flash TWRP or CWM please, please, please come forth with an instruction or a link to instruction on how to do so?
Reason i want to flash a custom recovery is because my phone failed an update and is now stuck on recovery. I want to backup my data before flashing ROM.
Mind you, i didn't have bootloader unlocked prior to the failed update. I just had it rooted using king root. I am not sure if it is mandatory for bootloader to be unlocked before flashing any custom recovery. Is it???
If yes, then since OS isnt loading, i won't be able to "install" anything to unlock bootloader. Therefore, is there a way to "flash"-unlock bootloader in order to flash the custom recovery? Is there a way around flashing a custom recovery on a phone that doesn't have bootloader unlocked and is now stuck on the stock recovery?
Basically i just want to backup by data. It doesnt have to be through the flashing-custom-recovery-in-order-to-backup-data method. Any method that will do the job is perfectly fine with me . I am inquiring about this method because all my searches led me to only this solution? Any other solutions are welcomed.
Thanks in advance!

First things first: What model is your phone? Is it the X2-CU (International), X2-EU (Russia, Europe and the Middle East), and the Vibe X2-AP (Indonesia, India, etc.) or the X2-TO (China Only). I can help you if it is the X2-CU or the X2-EU versions. Also, you DO NOT have to unlock the bootloader of this phone to install custom recovery. I know, it's weird, but it's true. If you tell me which model it is, I can give you the files needed to flash custom recovery. Good luck
