Hi, got the Gear Fit and used it with the S5 for a few days. Now I went back to my Note 3 and must recognize that the S5 Health App does not work the way it works on the S5
I finally managed to get the Pedometer info from my Fit to the Note 3 after downloading the new apk from this site. But there is still no Sleep button in the S Health App. Any idea, why not? Does the sleep information not sync with the app? Or is there a different work around for that.
Thanks

The S Health app does not have sleep tracking. To track your sleep (as well as heart rate and pedometer info) you need to uninstall the S Health app and install Fitness with Gear

Hi,
Today someone told me via Google Plus how to install Gear Manager on non-Samsung mobiles. His name is Serge Berig. So 100% Credits go to him. I am just posting here what he posted in Google Plus. His Phone is Moto X and Mine in LG G2. Worked perfectly fine.
My Test Scenarios:
1. LG G2 D802 Rooted. Rooting is not required as his Moto X is unrooted.
2. I am using a separate SIM on Gear S.
3. I have disabled mobile data and Wifi on both Gear S and my mobile
How it Works:
1. Download Gear Manager Latest Version and GearManagerStub.apk from this link: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/e7h23e12rzesi/Gear_Manager (Credit goes to the uploader)
2. Download these APK Files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3uemtAJSY3PVDFiY0FsVGRLN28/view?usp=sharing (Credit goes to Serge)
3. Move these files to your phone.
4. 1st install Gear Manager, then GearManagerstb.apk, then all remaining apks.
5. Open Gear Manager on your phone and viola. It connects, Resets your Gear S in case you used it before and as far as i checked everything Works
I did not test each and everything. As far as i know most thing works. Previously i had "Connecting Forever" Issue, now it connects straight away. I am using my Gear S as complete independent to Mobile Calls and SMS from my Mobile. I have not set any forwarding options or notification for Call and SMS from my mobile to Gear S.
Pls post your results
What's not Working:
1. Can't Transfer Music/Images from Phone
2.
I was just coming here to post this.
I can confirm this works on my stock G3.
Works:
Calls work, but i had to switch to the phone then back to bluetooth. Initially there was no audio. However that may have been a glitch, because it works after that without flipping back.
Notifications (you have to allow Gear Manager access to the notifications in Android System Menu)
Home Screen Styler
Find My Gear
Contacts pull down to Gear
Not Working:
Music player seems to be controlled through Gear Manager and not A2DP. So we may have to install Samsung Music player. Still investigating.
Transferring files to the Gear through Gear Manager crashes goproviders.apk. This also broke my notifications. Had to reboot the phone to get it back working.
Call Logs dont pull down
Weather app is missing
Receiving SMS in the watch SMS app. You get the notifications just fine, but the GEAR SMS app can't sync your conversations

I would imagine there is a newer goprovider.apk. The one he posted is 2.0.337.337. Thats the older one from the Gear 1/2 Gear Manager.
All the Samsung Gear S apps are version 2.2 and up. I was experimenting with the old Gear Manager and got similar crashes.
Just thought I'd chime in and let you know that I have the same version on my Note 4 with the Gear S. 2.0.337
Thanks for checking on that. It's got to be a missing lib or some TouchWiz framework.
It's not even a feature I care about, but i'm sure it will be needed later.
I'm still trying to find a fix for the music player controls.

You are right. I wonder what happened to it. When I skipped the activation, the weather app was there... Now that I got Gear manager to sync, it's gone.

Just tried it out with my Tab S 8.4 T705. Installed everything but still in Gear Manager, no Gear S visible. Any help for this?

Did you install the Stub Manager and all the 8 or so other APK's?
If you skipped the initial activation screen, make sure bluetooth is on, on the Gear S.
Also, try unpairing in the phone bluetooth menu then reopen Samsung Gear manager.

yes i installed the latest gear manager app as well as stub manager apk and other apks provided
this is my first time setting this watch up. my devices pair up but when i go to paired devices in the gear manager and try to connect, on my phone it says "connecting to gear" and the gear just has the "to connect to your mobile device, select the name of this gear in the samsung gear application" message
*EDIT*
got it working . i uninstalled everything that dealt with the gear under app manager in my phone and unpaired the device under bluetooth and re-installed everything again. it re-paired itself and it is working now.
I must have missed an APK somewhere
Glad to hear you got it working. Try some of things I listed as not working and see if you have different results. The more info we have, the better!
Music and images not worming here as well.
if I disconnect from Bluetooth my calls don't get forwarded to my watch. Can't send out text messages as well
Yeah I just want to chime in saying this isn't a fully working solution, but it works enough to keep me satisfied for now.
I'm sure as we get more people wearing these, more will jump on board to fix the issues we have.

Someone posted a video where the guy got a day one update for the gear. Also call forwarding options on the gear application itself is missing.
Someone should post the day one update apk as well as their version of the gear app

I just got what I believe is my second firmware update to ANJ7. (Not a Gear Manager update)
I now have a Gear S and a Gear 2. I was thinking about keeping the Gear 2 as it is smaller and better for occasions when I am wearing a suit and such. It looks a little fancier. It doesn't seem I can use the same apps on both. If I download an app for one watch, it doesn't seem it can then be downloaded again for the other. In order to get my old apps to work on my Gear S I had to uninstall them from my gear 2. If I can't I will just sell my Gear 2.
Any suggestions?

Hi!
I like S health app on my samsung gear s very much. But what can I do with data on my gear? Nothing. Because I don't own S5. It cannot be transferred to S4 Active or PC... Other sport app that I used to use (Runtastic), needs phone connection all the time. So whats the point hawing wach if you have to take your phone to a run anyway? What are the solutions for this problem. How can I syncronise S health to my mobile or PC? Any suggestions?
S Health was updated a month or so ago. Now even my S3 can sync and display S Health data. Your S4 should no be a problem
I'm happy for you, but in my case it's not working. Now i have Android 4.4.2 and my S Health version is 2.5.4.168 and cannot be updated.

My GS3 is running 4.4.2. You will need S Health 3.xx to get full support of Gear S. As far as I know it was available to all Samsung phones S3 and newer. Not sure why your didn't get the update. It was pushed down automatically from Samsung.
See this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/s-health-3-5-app-finally-available-to-t2945386
I have dowloaded 3.5 version and updated current (2.5.XXX) version, couldn't start the app...(I didn't download it from the store. It can't be found in the store.)
it needs bunch of services to be updated first. not an easy install if you manually install. It's a mess.
Now I'm thinking about to buy S5 active, would S health app in S5 Active synchronise data from my gear S?

It should as all S5 era phones (note 4, Alpha) come with S Health 3.xx. But with Samsung, you never know.
Has anyone managed to connect a Note 8 with the Gear S? I 've do everything follow this topic
"Tutorial: Install Gear Manager and connect to Non-Samsung Devices"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/tutorial-install-gear-manager-connect-t2934307
I can install Gear Manager app but it doesn't found my Gear S , it said "No device found"
It's so ironic . Non-samsung Devices can pair Gear S but Note 8 can't.
Yes you can. First, make sure your gear is in pairing mode and you might also want to back up any personal information like music or pictures from the gear because you might have to fully reset the gear s watch. Next, on your Note 8, go to the Samsung Gear App. Then, where it says pick a device it will show you the latest gear smartwatches available. choose the option for not on the list. Your gear will immediately search for any gear watches in pairing mode near it. Once the gear app finds your Gear S watch, continue the process as normal.
Hope this helps.

I had no issues pairing my note 8. However, I notice it drops BT connection. getting frustrating. Any experience with that?
