Followed up on your claim that any official dates have been confirmed, they haven't. Most recent information as stated by HTC is target 2nd week of April. That's not a confirmation of any specific date especially since the update is with Verizon right now to get final certification. If you have specific information from a source to say otherwise please post.
Agreeing with xlxcrossing. Everything i see shows the 2nd week of April. if you have diff info please share. otherwise here is where i got my info.

If they are to meet the target launch of April this should mean that KitKat 4.4 should arrive before 14 April. Detail :

Thanks. At the time I posted I thought that version was the only one not affected. Guess I had it backwards. I wonder though, if resources could have been diverted to help fix that version.

I'm sure resources could have been but at the same time Google said it was a low percentage of devices that even have that version. I'd like to say it was like 1-3% or something that low so it probably wasn't too high on the list to fix. I do think their is a patch they have out though
There's been some subtle info coming through the pipeline but week of 21st (now) is the adjusted time for target release. Hopefully some of you will get the OTA notification soon. This isn't a guarantee by any means, we all know the update process through Verizon historically has always been massively delayed at times when dealing with older devices. Its not like HTC or Verizon though to give constant updates pushing it week to week. They already did their 3 month postponement so I think its legit at this point.

Noob Question please!
Guys, a noob here. Just caught the news about KK coming over to Droid DNA. I have an unlocked version running Viper DNA 1.3.5 on Android version 4.1.1 with Sense 4.
Will I get notification of the KK update OTA since I'm in Canada and hence not running on Verizon's network and secondly, if I do the update, will I be able to run the ViperDNA as a dual boot option or is it even worthwhile to do that?
Thanks in advance folks!!!

All I see now is
HTC SYNC 3.0.5617 FOR HTC Rezound | 01.17.2012
Which is not the same thing.
I think it is a test by HTC to see how many forum threads can get started each time they make a change to their site. Then they remove the notice.
Been playing with a Nexus 7 all day... Jelly Bean is pretty cool, but I'm not starving for it on my Rezound. ICS is good enough for me and I prefer Sense anyway.
There just messing with us, at this rate we'll be lucky to see an ota by christmas or ever... they probably just keep promising it so people looking at buying a new phone won't choose another phone that already has ics.
Saw nobody mention this but in this site
http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-rezound-verizon/
Under specs, it states the 3.14.605.10 710RD as their current version. It's been like this for a few days. It'll be funny if it comes out 7/20 and kept giving us the 6/20 as a hint ;-P

Content on that page keeps changing. Now (7/19/2012, 12:07) all HTC shows is the link for HTC SYNC from 1/17/2012.
I agree with the suggestions of some posters' in the forum that these are hints at what is happening behind the scenes between HTC and Verizon.
I'm hoping to see an official ICS OTA before the end of the month, but I sure won't be holding my breath. At least when it does, that presumably gets us a step closer to getting source released.
Here are the links at HTC and Verizon that I've used to check for releases.

Indeed 4.1.2 and 1.27.531.7 is what we are stuck with....
Just called T-Mobile and the woman saw nothing about the updates in their system...
She said if you can download the update and apply it from HTC's website that would work, but rooting and using different software would break the warranty.

The rep would not know anything except an update currently in the pipeline, that is, already heading our way. Only someone at Tmo corporate headquarters would know the strategic deployment strategy, and they do not talk. TMO tends to release updates later than other companies.

who cares how much difference it makes... t-mobile is clearly lazier about updating than other companies and need a push to do so.

Well, for my Amaze 4G, they released the upgrade to ICS after about 5 months. And then very recently they did another upgrade, which would be almost a year later. But that first major update wasn't that late.
The way I look at it, if you're using these forums, you shouldn't have to wait for carrier updates. HTC did announce that an update is in the works.

Update Details: http://www.htc.com/us/software/software-updates/htc-one-x-sense-5-update/
AT&T RUU: https://s.basketbuild.com/filedl/de...5_18.27.11.35L_release_341689_signed_0220.exe
Sense 5 ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36091570&postcount=1
Q&A
I am on the stock ROM, but my bootloader is unlocked and I am rooted. Can I accept the OTA update?
No, you must relock your bootloader before taking the update. Otherwise, it will do nothing.
Can I accept the OTA update while on a custom ROM like Viper, Elegancia, Blackout, etc?
No, because the OTA checks to see if any files have been tampered with from stock, so your phone will refuse to update. You will have to go back to a stock ROM or flash the RUU to get the update.
Will the Telus One X+ be getting the OTA update?
It looks like Telus isn't getting the update according to this update schedule, which lacks any mention of the X+.
How do I get said update if I am not on the AT&T network?
Your only options at the moment are to flash a custom ROM based on Sense 5 or flash the RUU, as you cannot receive the OTA from AT&T while on another network.
Is there a way to get the update without updating the bootloader?
Yes, flashing a custom ROM based on Sense 5 will give you the update without updating your bootloader.
I tried updating, but it downloaded a 13 MB update and I'm still on Sense 4+. What gives?
The Sense 5 update is a two-part update. The first small update gets the phone ready for the larger and fully Sense 5 update.
But now I have to wait another 24 hours before I can check for updates again! What if I want it NOW?
You can go to Settings > Date and Time and uncheck Automatic Date/Time, then manually set the day ahead by one. This will allow you to check for updates again.
If you still have some unanswered questions or want something clarified leave a reply and I'll see what I can do. :fingers-crossed:

It could have been a good phone if the development crew behind the OTA updates didn't **** around.
Now everything's been shifted towards newer tech. What a waste, and what I don't get is why were there two different versions of this phone to begin with? I'm sure AT&T is outside the US, and I'm sure the wireless communications are just the same everywhere else. Just plain stupidity in the development chain.

AT&T may also be outside the US, but most international carriers and countries haven't fully taken advantage of LTE as of yet, so that kind of difference is more understandable. Hopefully once the new update comes out development will pick up again. I know I'll be looking into ROM development once the new update releases. :good:

The AT&T version has different radio hardware to the international version. Because of this the devices require different kernels amongst other things. This is why the different roms are not compatible nor will they ever be. This has been explained many times on the forums.

I think HTC are going to stop supporting older devices even more now. They made a massive quarterly loss this previous quarter. And in fact no smartphone manufacturer that has made this kind of loss has ever survived in one piece. The last two companies to do it was Blackberry and Nokia. Sucks really as HTC are the only smartphones i've ever really liked.

I wonder if we really will get on the 28th.
Not getting my hopes up just yet
I Will Believe When It Is Downloading
I've been thru this so many times with so many phones thru Verizon. I now only believe when it is downloading.
It sounds so pessimistic but that what they have done to us.
So for me seeing is believing.
Sorry to be so pessimistic
Not going to happen. I'm a pessimist too and I am nearly willing to bet this will not happen on 10/28. I think we should bug the hell out of verizon though....pointing them to this leak to make sure it gets out ASAP.

the real question is when will the OTA come for 4.4...im hoping that when it gets announced with the Nexus 5, the Google Play Editions will get updated so we can get stock 4.4 custom ROM and that it will work with people who had to root using Safestrap

IIRC GPE later then 4.2.2 (or what ever the current one that works on safestrap) uses a different kernal then the regular touchwiz and will not work until kexec is developed.
Though hopefully 4.3 does come out soon, I get the feeling that having a new update to android that cannot be installed w/o a new kernal will help push kexec along...

I think the 10/28 date is when Samsung is submitting the 4.3 update to Verizon to review and approve. It makes no sense that Verizon would update first out of all of the US carriers based on their past history.
Look at the rest of the S4 and S3 dates, most of them are slated for mid to late November, which seems more likely for a Verizon release. The other carriers don't really have a reviewal process like Verizon does to my knowledge, so they get the update and just push it to devices almost immediately. Therefore, Samsung built our version of 4.3 first and is submitting it earlier so that all of its devices get 4.3 around the same time.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and Verizon is releasing the 4.3 update on Monday. I won't complain if they do
I wonder how many of you will say lol woot when you download the update on 28th or 29th whatever the date is
I'm not getting a woody over this atm. It will likely be so locked down as mentioned that safestrap & roms will be out of the question for who knows how long. I'll stick to the customizations that I have now via ME7 & safestrap/Hyperdrive Rom.
Updates to me are useless until at least root can be obtained.

I don't care about the root aspect as I haven't been able to really flash a ROM being on me7 and now the newest update, but if this holds true, I am excited. Otherwise I think it was a typo and they meant Oct 28 2014 for Verizon.

All I'm going to flash is the modem: Google has been going sideways since 4.1.2.
