Lookin' for Best Battery & Audio Quality ROM - G2 General

Hi
I'm looking for ROM with 2 features:
1. Best Battery Lifetime
2. Best Audio Quality
That's all. No matter if 4.2.2 or 4.4.2. No matter if CyanogenMod or G Flex port. All I need is audio quality & battery life. Thanks.

Try the Aeonflex 4.2.2 rom for Smoothness and Fast gaming
Or Cloudypro roms for Features and stuff
Or stay at the Stock rom, install Xpsoed mods and a Custom kernel

Beware of KK with audio issues - hissing in headphones.

For me best combination battery and audio:
ROM stock 4.4.2
Kernel 4.4.2 [Stock Rom] SimpleKernel v4 [D80x/VS980/F320]

[Q] AOSP vs Touchwiz

Hi all,
I keep reading but I don't seem to find a definite answer for this question. I read somewhere that because of i9300 processor (samsung didn't reveal the codes or sth) the performance and battery life on Custom ROM based on AOSP and CM is not as satisfactory as Stock or Touch-wiz based roms.
Is this true? I love to use CM but the battery indeed seems to drain faster. Any idea of when i9300 users might get to use solid AOSP or CM based ROMs?
Thanks mates!
I am curious about this too. It seems that AOSP ROMS will always be imperfect as long as the Exynos codes arent released.

I have messed around with a few ROMS (mainly sammy based one's) and using a SAMMY ROM with a new launcher is a strong base.
Why not start by finding a good sammy based ROM (i'm using Viking ROM although may switch to HyperLight) get a nice setup, then you can simply backup and mess with ASOP & CM yourself knowing you have a rock solid alternative to fall back on.
You can make up your own mind then ^^

Cm10 is rock stable and has better battery life than sammy. (For me) but camera has some problems. Just try it. You can always revert it to sammy

CM10 is still nightly build right? I tried some ROMs like slimbean and liquid smooth but the battery performance is significantly not as good as stock. Am i right?
Yes right...
The stock ROM gives awesome battery life...
I tried CM10 but it seems to drain battery faster...i mean not that faster...
On my galaxy sl i9003 you cant even imagine what actually battery drain is....
Life 7hrs and gone but on my S3 the battery is OK about a day or day and a half and still 34% left !!

Wah. A day and a half??? I can't even achieve it with stock rom. What kind of tweaks do you use?
I just rooted a while ago and have just been flashing ROM this and that. Have never tried custom kernels or mods.
Would love to hear some tweaks that will last me 1.5 days with CM10. haha. Share with me bro.
If you can tolerate the few minor issues/glitches here and there, nothing beats CM10.

okay. So i do not need any kernel and tweaks for excellent battery life is it?
tried so often cm9&cm10, lately slimbean.
was AOSP fan on my desire, but not on the s3 (yet)
none of them made me stick to AOSP for more than 1week...
too many "bugs" - minor things who annoyed me like: **** camera&video (unstable), battery life, calling bugs (low voice volume) etc
ive to admit that slimbean + siyah kernel beats everything, the battery life is rly nice (nearly liek sammy roms). siyah kernel helps alot concerning the battery life on AOSP!
still ive to use a sammy rom cuz of stability and reliability.
id look forward to a fully working AOSP rom, hopefully soon.

What good is a ROM that is stable (as in doesn't crash) but ISN'T fully functional (as in has issues w/ hardware) ?
I want a ROM that is both stable and fully functional, even if it isn't the benchmark champion.
For me, the stock ROMs offer the best of the 2 worlds: they are stable and functional.
Yeah, let the flame start, but I am yet to see an AOKP/AOSP/CM ROM that doesn't have a single issue with hardware.
So, stock ROMs for me are the winner.
I use NOVA Launcher Prime, BTW, but the TouchWiz that came with today's stock JB (France, XEF) is extremely fast and as customizable as Nova Launcher.

There is miui rom that offers sammy+miui experience. I think it's called rayglobe, but it's based on 4.0.4 so it is never as smooth as jb

The best rom for my galaxy s3?

Hey, I am searching for the best rom for my galaxy s3, I want android 5.0, I have used a lot of roms but I want good battery life and the most roms doesn't have that. Does anyone know a good rom with good battery life and that is fast and smooth? Thanks for help. or maybe anyone can help me with the battery problem, I have used a lot of tutorials on youtube about it but nothing seems to be working.
Sorry for my bad English btw

Try BlissPop, this is best room ever
Always keep this in mind:
Stock Samsung ROMs
Pros:
Stable!
Better Camera support
Better Bluetooth, WiFi Direct and AllShare support
Much much more battery friendly than AOSP based ROMs
Cons:
No updates (last Android version 4.3)
Worse performance compared to a "Properly" tweaked AOSP ROM
AOSP ROMs
Pros:
Latest Updates
Responsive and has a great performance (I repeat only on "Properly" tweaked ROMs)
More useful features than stock Samsung based ROMs
Cons
Camera not as good as on stock Samsung based ROMs
Samsung features won't work on AOSP based ROMs
Worse battery
This should give you a general idea on the differences between the two.
There's nothing as a BEST ROM! Every ROM works differently for every user since each user has different uses for the phone.

Advice about rom

Good Evening , Can you please tell me a fluid, easy and stable? the telephone will be use by a kid.
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to XDA.
I would recommend slimsaber 4.4.4 by Fusionjack. It is stable, fast and battery friendly. I'm personally using Fusionjack's build so I dont experience force closures while in GPS.
I thing I would recommend changing in the ROM is the DPI using an app like Textdroider so that it is easier to navigate through the UI. The default DPI of the S2 is 240.
The reason why I recommend a KitKat ROM over Marshmallow for example is because Marshmallow and newer android versions will never be as smooth as older versions of android. Battery life is a lot worse and not very easy to switch to for beginners.
For best stability and battery life, stick with Stock Jelly Bean.

What I meant was android lollipop and marshmallow is a lot more resource heavy. Our device doesn't have much RAM so it can have negative effects to performance and battery life.

I recommend CM 10.2

Best rom for G2?

Fast, good battery life, good camera.
Stock LP 30F / AospExtender / other rom?
if camera is priority - skip any non-stock based rom (aka AOSP/AOKP/CM...)
Clody 3.3 best rom others are amateusrs
AOSPA 7 has the best non-stock camera, in my opnion. Its not as good as stock, but i think It comes close. I would say it has like 70% ~ 80% of stock quality. I recommend this ROM or Stock 30F with some debloat+ Dorimanx 12.0
Cloudy is very old rom and not updated.. stock 30F is much more newer version so why installing cloudy rom?
I do not recommend cloudy coz after 3 weeks its freezing. Many lags etc. Very slow rom. After some time is very slow.
I RR, AOSP Extended is also good ( atm running), BlissPop (MM) and my favourite rom from 5.1.1 Dirty Unicorn.
But for 7 i would recommend AOSP or CM.
You have to try them yourself because there is no one ROM that is the best.
AICP if you wan 7.1.1
All roms start to lag after some time, and I hate that about android.. Why do I have to flash a rom after 3 months? 3 months is the best case, some roms even lag after installing necessary apps..
I'm running RR right now. First months were a bliss. Now I can't open snapchat without lag.
When a ROM start to lag try to install Trimmer app, will save you

In my experience, the best rom is official CyanogenMod 13 for d802. It is super smooth, beautiful and very stable! Have been using it for years.

Regarding camera it uses SnapDragon camera optimized for Qualcomm Chipsets, and I believe it is the best camera you can get on a non-stock rom. You can even notice 'image stabilizer' working, didn't notice this feature working on other non-stock roms.
Regarding performance, didn't do any measurement, but it feels really fast and really smooth. I also use greenify. Regarding sound, I can't say anything since I do not know.
Also, according to GSAM battery averages, cm last two times longer than stock rom.
I've been using stock based Google Edition 1.5 with Dorimanx kernel and everything is extremely smooth.
Good battery life
The best camera quality
Smooth UI everywhere
Miracast, Dual Window and Screencast
Privacy guard to block app permissions
Audio over bluetooth works
Audio quality is good, listening with PowerAmp and Sennheisers
GPS has a fast fix
And this is from someone who has tried Cloudy 3.3 and CM 13 previously.

I'm still using KitKat 4.4.2
Dorimanx LG G2 Kernel for STOCK 5.0.2 Branches!
It says that Dorinmanx Kernel does not have support for KitKat 4.4.2
What will be the workaround? what version of Dorinmanx kernel to use?

Custom Kernel suggestions - for great battery backup & sound quality - for MIUI 11
I've been using de-bloated MIUI 11 (Locked Bootloader) since long. Its been working quite nicely.
But lately the battery life has really been degraded over time.
-So i was thinking to flash custom kernel on MIUI , & would really love to know your reviews regarding the kernels that you are using which has great battery life, sound quality & stability.
